Akila's Daughter
Posted: Sat Feb 05, 2005 6:46 pm

Hello hello!

After being bugged about it for many months, I finally followed up on
IggieKuzco's request, and found time to join the forum. (I don't know which
is more embarrassing for us... that he's my younger brother, or that I'm his
older sister! Heh heh, just kidding, love ya kid).

Don't get me wrong folks... I'm happy to be here. Senior year just eats up
most of my computer time these days, that's all...

Anyway, I've been an avid Disney fan for as long as I can remember. My
favorites include The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid...
The list does go on, but let's keep it short for now, shall we?
And lets not forget the music... It's only over the past two years that I've
begun listening to music which isn't Disney... And once again, TLK is my
favorite...

My crowning Disney-related achievement to date is getting a group of Israeli
sixteen and seventeen year-olds to watch unsubtitled Disney movies every
week/other week for a year at least (including an all-night Disney marathon
in the summer)... And to listen to those same (somewhat older now) teenagers
complain these days about the fact that we never watch Disney movies
anymore... :D

DisneyFan 2000 and Akila's Daughter! Welcome to the group. It looks like
everyone except me has seen the Little Mermaid. Akila, I didn't know
that IggieKuzco had a sister. It's nice to meet you. YOu did a great job
letting Israeli teenagers watch movies together. Keep up the good work.

Later everyone.

Hi everyone! I am new to this forum. My name is Sallie and I'm 21 years old. I was soo excited when I found this forum. I have been a Disney fanatic for as long as I can remember. The first Disney movie I remember seeing in the theater was Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. It was 1987 and they had re-released to celebrate its 50th anniversary. I remember they gave all the kids in the theater a free poster. Even after almost twenty years, I still have that poster hanging in my room. It's hard to put into words just how special Disney movies are to me. As a child, going to see the latest Disney movie in the theater was a huge event for my friends and I. We still know the words to every song from The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King and others from our childhood. Sadly however, I think the quality of Disney movies has declined enormously in the last 10 years. The stories and songs are not as well put together and executed as they once were. Luckily, because most of the classics are being reissued on dvd, a new generation of kids will be able to discover the magic and timelessness of all the classics that we grew up with. This forum is truly amazing and awesome. It is nice to have a place to come to and relive all of my wondeful childhood Disney memories.

Welcome PinkMermaid a.k.a Sallie! :D
I know what you meant when you said..
Sadly however, I think the quality of Disney movies has declined enormously in the last 10 years. The stories and songs are not as well put together and executed as they once were.
But at least the classics are being reissued! :D
Hope you'll enjoy the forum as well; soon you'll be finding yourself posting everyday like the Disney fanatics here!

Hi, my name is Jeff. i'm 18, and have been in love with disney for as long as i can remember! My first theater movie was The Little Mermaid and i've been hooked ever since. I went to disney world for the first time when i was only 5, and ever since then i've wanted to live there (who hasn't?). I'm majoring in Music Business at Millikin University in Decatur Illinois and someday i wanna work for disney, preferably as a performer. Right now i've started this "never ending quest" to collect all the disney movies that were theatrical releasses and their direct-to-dvd sequels (even though most of them make my head hurt, hehe), right now i'm at 18 DVD's, i've just started pretty much. I've actually been comin and lookin at this site and the forums since around june of last year, but jsut reccently i decided to start posting, i believe this is my 3rd so far. My favorite disney movie is Sleeping Beauty. ummmmmm if there is anything else you wanna know about me you are welcome to im me on yahoo or aim, i'd love to have some more disney fans as friends... sometimes i feel like the only one, lol.

Hello my name is Arty (actually that's a nickname but it's still a name anyway) I'm totally new to these boards and I, as is anyone who was a kid during the disney renaissance, grew up watching the Disney features. I was just a passive fan who liked what he saw and admired it. Eventually I hit puberty and started to got he way of the japanese animes and everything else non-disney. It wasn't until I saw the WDW fireworks display "Wishes" that the nostalgia of the Disney movies of yesteryear kicked into high gear and turned me into a disneyholic. Now I am collecting the 14 Titles in the Platinum Edition Collection as well as 3 other timeless favorites on Special Edition DVD I also now have a respectable knowledge of the Disney company with specializations in the theme park department. I am currently finishing my masters in Disney DVD-ology

my favorite disney films are The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Lilo and Stitch
