I might be getting Bolt soon. I will let you know about the Snow White trailer on Bolt. I also ordered the new Dvd editions of Escape to Witch Mountain and Return to Witch Mountain (I ordered them from Tower) so I could also let you know about the Snow White trailer on these Dvds also.

I wonder when there will be a
SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS Press Release announcing all the Extras etc on the forthcoming
October 2009 Platinum Edition?
Also when will Disney add a
Snow White Pre Order page on
www.disney.com ?

They tend to come out shortly after the release of the most recent platinum edition. I would expect to see it within the next month or so. I have have a feeling it won't measure up to the 2001 release. Maybe the Blu-Ray release will be good, but I am not counting on the DVD release to outshine the 2001 version. Which sucks - they shouldn't offer more bonus features on one format than on another. I think Blu-Ray is cool an all, I'm just not ready to convert yet.

What might be a neat idea is if they put a lot of neat bonus stuff on the new Dvd edition that was not on the old Dvd edition and at the same time don't put all the neat stuff from the old Dvd edition on the new Dvd edition. This way those who own both the old and new Dvd editions will have a lot of neat bonus stuff that is different on both editions

Now some of the neat bonus stuff could be on both editions

This is an idea that I have and I am not saying if they should or should not do this, I am just bringing up an idea

Just one question: what
isn't on the old DVD?

One thing which isn't on the old Platinum Edition DVD is the Pencil Test ( Outlines Only ) of the Wicked Queen in her Witch/Peddler Woman guise stirring the Cauldron of Poison in the Boil Cauldron Boil excerpt which takes place just before the
" Dip The Apple In The Brew...........Let The Sleeping Death Seep Through !! " sequence.

Well, aside from pencil tests, but that doesn't add up to much that's new.
And the Snow White trailer is likely to be on all disney dvds between now and October.

I have just purchased a Sony entry level player , and watched Pinocchio. The Snow White trailer looks absolutely F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S - absolutely stunning , I really can't wait until October 2009!
I hope that the Cover Art is changed , after all the Sleeping Beauty Cover Art changed from the original four or five versions shown on this website!

I wonder what crappy new Disney tween engenue (sp?) will do the cover video this time? If they were smart, they'd just reuse Barbra Streisand's glorious cover from the previous DVD, but yeah.

Disney always use some ghastly talentless bimbo to "cover" these classic tunes!
I guess they use these lackluster "starlets" to introduce the new generation of teens to Disney's classic movies. At least La Streisand has class unlike the Britney types they use nowadays!

Thats a little harsh isnt it? I know none of us are a fan of the covers but theres no reason to to call these girls "bimbos". When has Selena Gomez, Emily Osment or Meaghan Jette Martin ever done anything "Britney" like? In fact there the total oppisite, all have extremely clean images. So unlees mediocre singing/acting makes someone a bimbo I dont think there is much need for the name calling.

Perhaps bimbos was a little harsh. It's simply that I dislike Disney's use of modern pop singers doing cover versions of the classic standards in order to " bring them up to date" for the Disney Princess Franchise marketplace.
I value the art/design of Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs beyond just another crass moneymaking ( don't get me wrong I do realise that Disney has to turn a buck or two ) excercise!
The Disney Princess Franchise has little to do with the integrity that Disney had when creating his first masterpiece!
Why no Press Release for Snow White Platinum yet?

Why has Disney not done a Press Release as yet for the Platinum Edition DVD/Blu Ray of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs? Pinocchio got a Press Release many months before it's debut on Blu Ray!

Blu-ray coming out October 6th, DVD on November 24th.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the first Walt Disney animated classic and the first DVD to sell 1 million copies in a single day, will make its Blu-ray Disc debut on Oct. 6, in a combo pack ($40) that includes a DVD. A two-disc standard DVD ($30) will arrive Nov. 24.
The 1937 classic retelling of the Grimm Brothers' fairy tale has never been seen in high definition, and Bob Chapek, president of Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment, says he hopes it "will easily become the reference point for high-definition home entertainment libraries and family collections." The Blu-ray also will include several bonuses not included on the original DVD released in 2001.

This is a MUCH better idea than what they did with Bolt...
Shipping ONLY the Blu-ray's will prevent stores from placing the DVD's on the shelf too early...
Bolt's DVD and Blu-ray combo pack were shipped to stores at the same time, but expected to be placed on shelves a couple of days apart.
This 2 month gap will allow them to ship the Blu-ray combo's ONLY, so as to eliminate confusion as to which versions can be put out and which are supposed to be held for 3 days.
Hope they start doing this with all of their releases !

I think it's silly to have the gap between Blu-Ray and DVD. Just release them both on the same day, what's so confusing about a Blu-Ray version that comes with a dvd and the standard dvd version? I'm blonde and even I can figure out the difference between the two
Attempts at humour aside..like I said just put them both out on the same day. As someone who buys dvd only I think it's a bit unfair to have to wait longer to get my dvd just because they want to release Blu-Ray first.
I really don't see why they're doing this
