Do you think it could win Best Animated Feature?
Tangled, Wreck-it Ralph or Frozen?

I don't think they did....uh I'm sorry I'm getting a little burnt out. I'll ask my friends that went with me. I'm pretty sure they don't, though.

It was very funny and frenetic the trolls put Anna and Kristoff in special troll wedding "outfits," like Kristoff gets a long green moss cape and a huge collar of long grass that looked like a lion's mane. I think Anna had a cape as well and some kind of crazy hat made of sticks. Also the trolls dig out a portion of the ground and push them in it, I assume to put them at eye level with the troll that tries to marry them? Honestly it was kind of odd lol.

Against Miyazaki's (supposedly) final work, probably not? I think the music stands a very very good chance at winning something though. Personally I hate the AA and don't put much stock in them (WiR should have won, damn it)

Oh, are you asking me to choose between those 3...? I can't, sorry. I love them all.

I have been hearing pleasant things about Frozen so far. The music sounds fantastic, and the voice acting is amazing. The composition of the visuals is also similar to the hand-drawn Disney films.(It has the appropriate angles. Not exaggerated and obnoxious. The characters move nicely too.) I will definitely see Frozen on the opening night.

But there is one thing that I am disappointed about. (Some of you can guess what it is.) :It's Hans sudden persona change. I don't mind Hans being the villain. It's just how he functions as a villain. What is the point of him being evil? Couldn't stopping the eternal winter be his goal rather than taking over the kingdom?

To help, I will ask phan258 some questions.

Why is Hans evil? Should I just wait and see the movie?

Man, those people who are negative with this movie, even if it's not release until next month, are so cray cray! :glare:

Thanks, phan258! First your stellar reporting about Tangled a few years back and now this. You rock.

Thank you so much phan258 for answering my questions. :D

Oh and the moments I was talking about was these:

When Elsa builds the ice palace in Let it Go.

When Anna turns into an ice statue.

The climax scene where Elsa and Hans are in the blizzard.

Do You Want to Build a Snowman and parents deaths.

And finally: The moment when Anna and Elsa skate in the very ending of the film.

Those were the moments I wanted to know, but once again, I thank you so much for answering my questions. :)

I don't consider it a detriment. If a film is bad enough that you don't want to continue watching--that's a genuine criticism. I'm sure you turn the channel plenty of times in the middle of a film you realize is awful and a waste of time.

SOME OF IDINA’S LET IT GO WITH THE ORCHESTRATIONS

BTW: Am I the only one who HATES the drums in Let It Go? With the beautiful pianos and violins, it ain't working for me so far! It's so out of place.

 I absolutely love them. Drums and percussion seem to be a great asset to these songs as they both reflect the modern pop-Broadway style of today AND it ties into the cultural music of the Norway. It's a win win.

You know the more I think about Hans being the actual villain of the movie the more I realize that he is probably one of the most subtle and accurate depictions of a sociopath. Sociopaths tend to manipulative and have a good ability to act out emotions but not actually feel them. Throughout the movie Hans is only acting like he is some Prince Charming when he is only looking for power. That's how a lot of accounts with sociopaths are because they might seem like swell people in public but behind doors they have a dark side that they hide. Ultimately people are tools to sociopaths and will discard them when they are not of use to them anymore. Sounds familiar to the scene where Hans is willing to let Anna freeze to death so he can become ruler.

To me, Hans is what Mother Gothel should've been as a villian, in my opinion.

Mother Gothel is still a sociopath but she is depicted as the villain from the beginning while Hans' true nature is hidden from both the audience and Anna. Mother Gothel's sociopathic behavior is shown through her eighteen year long emotional abuse of Rapunzel, scheming with the Stabbington brothers so she can get her foster daughter back under thumb, and killing Flynn when he tries rescuing Rapunzel. Not to mention how Gothel sees Rapunzel as an object rather than a person. Han's sociopathy is that of a male predator that will try to get close to a girl for their own purposes.

I agree. The big thing that I didn't like about tangled was that Gothel was wasted as a character. When compared to the other villain moms, she is the only one that NEEDS the girl alive. Gothel went on 18 years raising Rapunzel.. It is impossible for her not to develop some soft of motherly affection towards Rapunzel. So seeing her go after rapunzel for the hair and then chaining her up really messed up her character. Glad to know that the freaken horse got more character development that everyone else in the movie... :glare:

I don't know that is Draco In Leather Pantsing Gothel because for one thing she stole Rapunzel away from her parents and the fact is that I believe it would make more sense for her to see Rapunzel as a object than a person. I don't know I think it would be even more unfortunate implications if they gave sympathy to a child kidnaper because if she was male well I don't think people would be having this conversation at all.

Hm, maybe. But at the same time though we don't have as many scenes with her as we should've and that she didn't even show GENUINE love for Rapunzel and then she would be interesting but as she is, she's an alright villian who's vain but a much better one than Dr. Faciller.

I'm not sure one will be able to love this movie unless one is also a little more than partial to Broadway music. It's not super accessible/borderline pop songs like much of the music from the renaissance era.

I would like to come to Sporn's defence here. While I am almost sure I will love Frozen, I have no problem with Sporn's opinion, mainly because I've read and learned so much from his site to know that the man knows more about animation than most people ever will. And I really don't like the lack of respect he's getting here. tswade, kindly go tell someone else that they are "cray-cray" but not Michael Sporn.
