Come on! Again, I love Brave. I really do! I'm happy it won. But, c'mon! WIR is so much stronger than Brave! It's so unfair!
It only won because it's PIXAR.

Why didn't Wreck it Ralph win?!!? WHY?!!? Look Academy. I know you might have been biased against Disney due to films such as Treasure Planet, Home on the Range and Chicken Little. But guess what. That was almost a decade ago. All water under the bridge. What's past is past. Not only that but what about some of the other animated features that you glossed over and just handed over to Pixar? Like Coraline? Princess and the Frog? How to Train Your Dragon? Did you even enjoy those movies or are you just a bunch of fifth graders just doing it because "Pixar did it! Therefore it's the best!" Well, if this is the way things are going to continue, than maybe you should remove the Best Animated Feature category!

They're biased against all of animation that's not Pixar.

I gotta say the Academy handing Pixar the animated feature award has become as predictable as Tim Burton casting Johnny Depp in his last few movies and even that wasn't as annoying.

I'm just going to copy and paste what I wrote on the other thread, since it's relevant to this discussion, too:
If it makes any of you feel any better, I don't think Monsters University will win next year (Monsters Inc lost, so would be odd if its prequel won). I know this is too early to say, but I'm predicting next year's Animated Feature category will be Epic vs Frozen.

Yeah, exactly I was thinking: I think Monster’s U may be like Cars 2 and won’t get nominated for Best Animated Film. So, unless Pixar buys “Best Animated Feature” and (somehow) “Best Original Song”…again, I think Frozen will win both of these categories, esepecially Best Original Song. This doesn’t seem like a strong year of animation, so Frozen has a STRONG shot.

I do think the Academy has a Pixar bias but Pixar aren't bribing anyone.

Again, copying and pasting what I wrote in the other thread.
There are thousands upon thousands of voters in the Academy. A little hard to bribe such a large group of members. And the Annie and Producer's Guild wins shows that Wreck-It Ralph probably got a lot of votes, too. Mr Spinning iPhone voted for Ralph, after all.
I think this was a year where they went for the safe choice. What's worth remembering for those who prefer Wreck-It Ralph. Well, the animators and producers agree with you, since they gave their industry awards to it.

Overeacting. Your doing it again. I dont think it should have won either but dont blame Pixar for a decision they had nothing to do with. All they did was the best they could, and it paid off. Blame the academy if you disagree. In the end its just an award. Chill.
I think Ralf was destined to loose with its videogame theme. They just couldnt take it seriously enough.

Oh, come on, Kyle! Ralph lost because of its video game theme?! That's the lamest excuse I've ever heard! It's like saying The Princess and the Frog lost because it was done in a "dead" medium!

Im not saying its not a lame excuse, the academy just tends vote certain ways. The more tears the more likely it is to win. wreck it ralf just wasn't aiming to be that kind of movie. Not that Brave was either, but they probably got more out of that transformation scene than wreck it as a whole. Its also more of a period piece, which they tend to go for.

For what it's worth, I cried at the climax of Wreck-it Ralph and not Brave. Although, when I watched Brave with my mom, I did tear up. But I think Wreck-it Ralph was more universal in its emotion. Brave is more of a mother-daughter thing, I think. I'm not sure how it resonates with the son-father dynamic.

Didnt say it was... Toy Story 3 definitely pushed as hard as it could though to get people to cry in not one but two scenes. Plus you had about 15 years of fond memories strongly associated with it. The odds were definitely in its favor that year.
