I defiantly suspect that John Lasseter had a hand in this teaser. Then again this year is the tenth anniversary of the Incredibles. Actually now that I think of it maybe Big Hero 6 and the Incredibles could take place in the same universe.

EDIT: According to Paul Briggs, this cast list on IMDB is FALSE:

So, Freddie Highmore is not Hiro unless the animator is lying.

And big, big shocker    : Grace Randolph hated the trailer for BH6.

YES!!!!! And here I was worried that this year's drama might be Grace-less . . .

He didn't actually say it was fake, he just meant that just because something is on IMDB , it doesn't make it true. Or at least that's my interpretation.

The new casting news seemed to come from DigitalSpy and were just copied from there and ended up on IMDB eventually. No idea where DigitalSpy got that info, first thought was they were fooled by a fake list from Tumblr or something but couldn't find anything. Who knows, really.

Who the hell is Grace Randolph?

No seriously, why does her opinion matter? Any idiot can upload their opinion to YouTube (and sadly, too many people do), so I don't understand why this Grace woman is constantly being brought up here.

I'm very calm actually. I was just asking a very serious question. I've asked it before.

But I guess no one can answer it.

I remember asking that same question in the Frozen thread a while back. I have no idea who she is.

Grace Randolph seems to run a reasonably popular (based on no. of subs) Youtube channel based on reviewing recent movies and trailers. She seems to be brought up a lot here based on her vitriol for Frozen in the lead up to and following its release. Think she was one of the few who made a video about Frozen during the information drought we had for much of 2013, and hence managed to gain a reputation here.

That's why I brought her here. Every single trailer and piece of information that Grace discusses/views for Frozen, she trashes it like heck. And at the end, she hated Frozen and it was crystal clear based on her videos, that she didn't even tried to enjoy Frozen (I mean if she hates it, fine.) Meanwhile, she liked Legends of Oz and Rio 2. (Which is again, fine). And it sounds like the same, exact thing could happen here in BH6.

So, Patrick, that's why I brought her here. :mischief:

Yeah, but there is no need to bring her up her opinions on every little thing. She is a relative non-entity, it's not like there aren't plenty of people who dislike Frozen out there. We don't need to bring all of them up, and why should we, unless they have a particularly insightful bit of criticism.

Funny how she talks about "white people", when she's as vanilla as she comes.

I am actually kind of grateful that you guys posted her videos, because if you hadn't then I wouldn't be watching her show every morning.
I love how she takes her fans seriously, always honoring them and responding to their questions. I think her trailer reviews are really well put, and listening to her movie reviews is interesting too.

One thing you have to know about her is that she fixates a lot on racial diversity. Which is why she didn't like the trailer of BH6, that and the fact that it seemed silly and geared towards kids.

A Disney movie trailer geared towards kids? :o what were they thinking??

I like how racial diversity is only ever an issue for Disney films, not Pixar or DreamWorks or Sony.

I thought the teaser was very adorable and neat. Hiro's design is better in motion than it was in that picture.

I remember when she did a "spoiler" review of Frozen and some comments (on YT and here) were kind of nasty, especially when she brought up that Linda Woolverton should've stayed in WDAS.

Grace Randolph, to the best of my knowledge, is a movie spokesperson that discusses not just movies but also production stuff. I remember in the past she also used to interview either other movie people or people who just saw a movie, but she mentioned in a Q&A that due to budget issues, she had to scrap that feature.

And about her concern about Hiro being voiced by a white person (if rumors turn out to be true)...

Am I the only one who is agreeing with her? I think that if your character is culturally different, you should do your damndest to get an accurate voice. That's why I appreciate Pocahontas; even if some of the settlers weren't British, at the very least the native Americans were voiced BY native Americans.

I am sure there are hundreds of capable Japanase-American (voice) actors looking for jobs beyond typecasts. Supposedly Hiro is mixed race, but it's still a bit unfortunate if the rumors are true. (About as unfortunate as making the setting a conglomerate between American and Japanese cultures, when the latter is more than unique to make interesting locales.)

Let the uproar begin after a voice cast is announced.

So I'm guessing a man can't be a feminist either?

I don't pay attention to Disney marketing so much, except for the designs or animation you see. What's funny to me is how the mostly awful campaigns for Tangled and Frozen helped make them successful, but those godawful Treasure Planet trailers way back when didn't help that movie at all.

I agree that a white person playing the main character would be problematic, but we don't know the cast yet?

It's *acting*--and *voice* acting, at that. Should gay actors be disallowed from playing heterosexual roles, too?
Eddie Murphy and Harvey Fierstein aren't Chinese. Nathan Lane, Jeremy Irons, Whoopi Goldberg, Cheech Marin, Matthew Broderick--not African. I'm sure Jerry Orbach had fun with the accent, but he isn't French (and nor are Robbie Benson, David Ogden Stiers, or Angela Lansbury). Dick Van Dyke isn't British. I don't understand the concern at all.
