I finially know what the walk-through is now ! Thanks you guys! I didnt know it was actually in the castle; its like the Enchanted Journey of Aladdin in DisneyLand Resort Paris. Its almost identical.

So what will actually be included on the DVD then ? What will the walk-through castle thing be ?

Yeah, there will be Sleeping Beauty stuff, just as there was with Ariel and Cinderella. She didnt say when though; I guess it will probably kick into gear after Ariel's Beginning has been released.

One of the things I hope that they might do for the DVD (although I'm not holding my breath on it) is make a virtual walk-through of the original 1957-1977 walk thru. Originally, the walk thru used a lot of black-light, painted flat plywood characters, and optical illusions (some that would be used later in the Haunted Mansion like Peppers Ghost), like many of the original versions of the Fantasyland dark rides. I guess since SB is my favorite film, the walk thru is like one of those hidden old attractions about the park I've always been interested in, and I've spent a lot of time looking up info on it. :p

There really isn't any pictures of the old walk thru (only of the post 1977 redo version), but a lot of Eyvind Earle's sketches for the walk thru were pretty much put in exactly as he drew in them, as I've been told. Since the walk thru opened two years before the film was released, there were a lot of scenes in the attraction that aren't in the movie. The original walk thru was also a lot more darker in tone than the 1977 redo, and featured more heavily on Maleficent. I managed to find out what the old scenes were in the original walk thru, and the sketches for them, and I could post them up, along with highlighting what the old walk thru scenes and layout was like if anyone is interested. :)

The one thing that won't be as good on the DVD as the original walk through is the "echo chamber". Shouting words in your home isn't as fun as in a public space, then again allot of swear words were used by guests.

Clearly, you're not shouting the right words.

Ariel'sprince, the walk-through isn't a living castle environment that changes based on our location. We'll get a virtual castle as the menus in addition to the walk-through!

An attraction that used to be inside the castle at Disneyland Park in California. It opened in 1957 and closed in 2002.

I'll be sure to include every detail that I can remember I found on it and pictures I have of it. There's a few scenes (especially the last half) of the walk thru which are so heavily focused on Maleficent, and nothing that appeared in the film. Anyway, this may be kind of a long post with all the pictures and all the random info. :P

This is the layout of how the original walk thru appeared before it was renovated:

Scene 1 - The Burning Of The Spinning Wheels
Image

Scene 2- The Fairies Watch Over Baby Aurora
Image

Scene 3 - Maleficent's Curse Comes To Pass
Image

Scene 4 - Main Hall Asleep
Image

Scene 5 - Sleeping Aurora
Image

Scene 6 - Meet Maleficent's Demons
In this scene, there was a row of three doors of peep holes in which guests could peer into. In the first one, there was a mirror trick in which it reflected your eye back on the mirrors, so it appeared as if a dozen of your own eyes were looking back at you. The last two featured sculpted heads of Maleficent's goons with glowing eyes staring at you. Back in 1992, even though the original walk thru had been changed for years, Imagineers found old plywood cutouts of Maleficent and Phillip, and one of the goon heads from the original stored backstage in the castle. Here's a pic of one of the two-headed goons that was saved:

Scene 7 - Demons Flying to King Stefan's Castle
I haven't been able to find any concept art of this scene, but in this one you looked out over a view of both Forbidden Mountain and King Stefan's castle. Using a projected effect, it appeared as if flying demons were sailing out of the top of Maleficent's castle and over to Stefan's and surrounding it.

Scene 8 - Bottomless Pit
This is the effect that Flanger-Hanger was talking about, in which you looked down into a pit of swirling spirits. You could yell down into the pit, and hear your voice echo back multiple times.

Scene 9 - Prince Phillip Imprisoned In His Cell
Image

Scene 10 - Maleficent Celebrates The Triumph Of Evil
Image

Scene 11 - Waltz Of The Spinning Wheel
Image

Scene 12 - True Love's Kiss
I haven't been able to find any concept art or pictures of this one either. In it, a cutout of Prince Phillip would lean down and kiss Aurora, and the figure's eyes would flutter open.

Scene 13 - Maleficent's Shadow

I hope this info might help give an idea for others who are interested or wondered what the original walk thru like had been. :)

Thanks for the concept arts,PrincePhillipFan :D,What do you mean about the demons flying to Stefan's castle? what they're doing there?.
Aurora looks weird in scene 3,what's the Waltz Of The Spinning Wheel?.
And those were just for the attrection? not the film?.
