Yeah, I think this thread is the very reason why I sometimes call TPATF "The Frog Princess".


Anyway, I gotta wonder. For those who complained that Maddy, I mean, Tiana, was a chambermaid, imagine they're surprise when they find out she'll be turned into a frog!

So Keith David is in the film as the villian. I hope that proves that the villian will be strong character, not another Jafar. Don't get me wrong, I like Jafar, but he just doesn't exude "evilness". I wonder if the villian will sound like Thailog. That would be interesting.

Hmm,Jafar is one of my favorite villains but he's not evil as Maleficent or Frollo,maybe Lady Tramine is more evil then him (He's much more powerful then her and Frollo but she and Frollo are more evil then him),but the villain can be good.
You know,if they whould found out that Maddy will turn into a frog they might think it's more racist then Song Of The South.

I think frogs are cute

But I understand how it could be a problem for some people.

Listen, this movie is NOT coming out till DECEMBER 25, 2009!!!!! That is still a looooonnnnngggggg time from now. We don't even know what the story is about. We just keep making assumptions about it. Let's just wait and see what Disney annouces or whatever. Just stop this arguing back and forth. It's NOT solving anything.

Anyway, about African-American community having problems with portrayal of the characters in TPatF... Shouldn't the fact that notable black actresses (Angela Bassett, Jenifer Lewis, Anika Noni Rose) took no offense to their roles be proof enough that there's nothing wrong with this film?

Well, just because Butterfly McQueen played Prissy in Gone With The Wind doesn't mean people didn't find the portrayal racist. One person's opinion isn't equal to everyone's simply because they share a category.

Why didn't they pick Alicia Keys for Tiana, she would've been perfect for the role.

I don't like her voice. No offense to Alicia's fans, but she sounds like she's doped when she's talking.
