Methinks they will move around more carefully and play safe now, instead of announcing 23746234234 titles at once with a planning they'll suffer to fullfill.

I'm most interested in hearing a male version of "Love" and Prince John's "Not in Nottingham," but they all sound interesting. I think the music in this movie is already fairly country-leaning, so...

It seems like they only divided the music in 2 discs so nobody could say they went cheap and started to make 1 discs part of The Legacy Collection but well, can't complain much

No i think there is some mistake here. There is no bonus material listed here (the above mentioned demos and the Louis Prima album). And if the soundtrack in itself was split into 2 CDs they should not have numbered them starting with 16 on the second disc. Somebody messed up in this info. Also; it spells Maid Marian, not Main Marian

^ Yes, there has to be a mistake. It was previously announced that the set was going to have 41 tracks and that the second disc would contain the bonus material. This seems the tracklist of just disc 1.
A 2-CD set that features 41 tracks and contains over 1 hour and 30 minutes of content. Disc 1 includes the original songs and score from the film. Disc 2 includes bonus material like previously unreleased demos and bonus tracks. This is the definitive Robin Hood collection targeted to die-hard Disney music fans and uber collectors.

I snagged a copy today at D23. The sticker on it says "Over 40 Songs."

I will try to post the track list when I get back to a computer, unless someone beats me to it.

Oh, yay! Of course it would nice to get something more obscure, too, but I'm happy to see another Menken soundtrack get this treatment! I hope the cover turns out great. I imagine it'll be a ballroom scene, but I'd prefer a shot of them on the balcony afterwards myself.

So awesome. I can't wait to see what it will include. I wonder if Snow White or The Hunchback will be included. :)

And Beauty next... don't know what to think yet. I was so thrilled when I got the special edition soundtrack rotfl I doubt I won't double dip, but I'll wait to see what's inside first. Ah well, at least is Menken getting some love.

Finally! (**)

Since Disney used to rely on the anniversaries of certain films, they've should've released the soundtracks for Snow White, Bambi, The Jungle Book, The Rescuers, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Aladdin and Hercules, since they all have anniversaries this year. Last year should've seen the anniversaries for Dumbo, Alice in Wonderland, The Fox and the Hound, The Great Mouse Detective and The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

Just got my copy of the Robin Hood set in the mail today. :) I've been listening to it (and Sara Evans' new album) most of the day.

I haven't read the booklet yet, but I did notice there seems to be less artwork by Bové than usual, and most of what there is are arrows/flags. The back cover is as nice as the front, imo. I love the ragtime demo of "Whistle Stop." The male version of "Love" is decent; although the singer strangely reminds me of Elvis Presley at points--randomly. I know these comments are pretty sparse, but I am very glad to happy a physical copy of this now.

I think the track I've been playing most often is "Phony King of England." Who knew a Disney song could be relevant in modern day U.S. A pox on the phony 'king,' indeed.

Oh yes! Especially these lyrics:

"He stands alone on a giant throne pretending he's the king,
A little tyke who's rather like a puppet on a string.
And he throws an angry tantrum if he cannot have his way,
And he calls for Mom while he's suckin' his thumb."

Sounds pretty accurate.
