I wasn’t even done with elementary school when this film was released.
Funnily enough,
Mermaid was the first movie I saw in theaters (I was born in ‘88 ), but I don’t remember it at all. I don’t really have memories of life before 5.

^Join the club. Most of my memories from before 5 are from home movies I havent seen in ten years.
With the exception of a couple involving preschool.
Edit: I meant the memories I have of preschool. not home movies.

I kinda felt cheated when Disney stopped releasin the classics to cinemas, yet it also amazes me that after many decades, films like Pinocchio, Wizard Of OZ, Casablanca were able to generate BIG money (I'm guessin) as Star Wars, Harry Potter franchise

Loved the Little Mermaid re-release in the late 1990s; I was a 1991 baby so I didn't get to see it in 89. I wish they'd do stuff like that more often. I'm really looking forward to the Lion King in 3D, seeing it in theaters will be nice for those who still haven't converted to 3D tv's! (Still haven't made switch to Blu-ray haha)

I am not familiar with the Euro. After converting the money into my local currency, I think you paid a lot for the Platinum Edition of the movie. Even if it was a 2nd hand copy.
I don't think so. When the new 1-disc dvd will come out, it will cost around €18, like all other Disney dvd's. So for just €2 extra, I have the 2-disc! Yay!

Japanese 3DBD+2DBD cover
I thought some of you peeps might like this cover, but it just screams underwhelming to me. I'm so glad it's not the main cover.

It looks better than the Blu ray Art on the Diamond Edition Blu ray combo here...I would actually prefer that cover that is on the USA Dvd Cover as the Blu ray cover
and it doesn't have the title like it's a freak'n Up and Down Crossword Puzzle

I think that's more of an acrostic than a crossword puzzle!

Actually I would think if anyone would do the vertical wording it'd be the Japanese. don't they have a lot of text vertical on billboards and signage there?

^That's just because Japanese (along with Chinese/Korean/other languages) and be read easily up/down, left/right, right/left, but there's no tenancy or preference.
Here's the normal edition cover
