I did and I actually thought it's sorta out of character,she always call hims "daddy" and in the series too,even in Kingdom Hearts.

TLM:AB takes place before everything else, so what I just explained makes it very much in-character, and works out chronologically.

Ariel's voice is quite strange, even if she has only one voice actress in Poland (Beata Jankowska has dubbed all three movies, tv series).
And I love Marina's voice ^^

I was watching this featurette on Youtube, and I noticed that at the end you hear the end of 'I Remember', but it's kinda different than the movie version...
From 3:55 'till the end. I like it, but it's different.

Also, Jodi's hair is black and orange. Funny detail.

I don't see anything different but I think that her flipper is more green then in the film itself.

It's only a small change. I think it's because they might have fixed the audio to make her sound younger. Don't get me wrong- Jodi is amazing, and her voice is beautiful, but she is getting older.

I was just wondering, is this movie out of print now? I noticed it was limited time only... am I to late to purchase it? Or can I still find it some places...?

I don't know for sure when it will be out of print. Its still available now. But Disney would be stupid to put it out of print before Christmas. More likely it will be placed in the "vault" after Christmas. But maybe someone here knows more about that than I, perhaps a date?

Nah, it's still available . . . especially since TLM2's re-release is in December, as is the TLM trilogy set (with the TLM 2-Disc Platinum, AB and TLM2). I think I've heard it'll all return to the vaults by Spring of 2009, so if you lack the first film PE and AB, just save your money and buy the TLM set in December!

But seriously, whenever Disney says "Limited Time Only," that's just their way to get you to buy it now and not later (That's what they tried to do with Bambi II, and I still see it mostly all video/electronic stores that I go to! Lies . . .). I don't think it means that it'll be going away - it just means that once they "put it in the vault" it'll just be harder to find later when you want it, that's all.

Also, I just found out something: Based on this profile at Internet Movie Database, The Little Mermaid TV series takes place while Ariel is supposedly 14 . . . But if this is true, that contradicts all of the events of "Ariel's Beginning" altogether, especially since they say she's 15 when the movie takes place. What do you guys make of this?

Well, IMDb is just slightly more reliable than Wikipedia. The bottom line is that they're both run by fans, and basically, as long as you have an account, you can change about anything. Just ignore it.

watching the movie again .. there were a couple things I noticed.. I wonder if Ariel's hair is really a helmet ..since she could've easily gotten a severe head injury crashing into Marina.. and Ariel's Hair looked like it was going to come off her head when she noticed flounder heading to the catfish club when she was staring out the "window"..

also, just why 7 teenage girls are sharing one room is a bit questionable.. ..


and Ray-Ray used a Shark Tale joke in this movie.. he's not there at the club for the Halibut (heck-of-it)...

think this was mentioned.. when Marina changes her outfits..did anyone notice that weird yellow one with the yellow cones on her breasts? yikes!

yeah, I'm glad Marina wasn't really Ursula.. her personality just doesn't seem a good match..

I wonder who's more obsessive Marina about Killing Sebastian or Zira for Killing Simba.. though I think Zira had a better motive..

I actually heard this one used on an episode of Family Matters, which ended in 1998. With that said, I doubt it was even from FM, it might be a classic joke.

I figured that might have been a reference to Madonna.

Remember that there was a storyboard scene with Ariel,Eric and Sebastian chasing a whale? then it turns out it was created for the series and not Ariel's Beginning like many people thought.

It was not created for the series. In the series, that never happens.
I think it was for the early version of the movie.
I would love to read some cancelled screenplays...

Maybe they will adapt a piece of the story with Melody and Ariel etc in a new volume of Disney Princess Enchanted Tales.
Or maybe, if it's about Ariel as Mermaid, it will be about Ursula.

First of all-It WAS created for the series and was deleted and it had nothing to do with neither Ariel's Beginning and Little Mermaid II.
Second,there's NO way that Melody will ever appear in Enchanted Tales.

Prince, why do you think it was related to the TV series ? It makes no sense; why would a storyboard suddenly pop up when we knew Ariel's Beginning was in production ? The TV show had been dead for about 10 years, and for a storyboad to appear last year ... ?

Agreed. It's not logical a storyboard about Ariel and Eric would be related to a serie that was about Ariel as mermaid, before she ever met Eric. (although, Eric is sometimes seen in the show as a boy)

In Animated-Views someone that worked on the storyboard said it's part of the series,and just because people have seen it a year ago doesn't mean that they created it a year ago.
And about Melody,Disney don't count so most likely she won't be there.
