goofystitch wrote:MJW, the case isn't quite that drastic. It uses a thinner plastic than we are used to and has the recycling symbol on the left hand side, but nothing is cut out of it. The only studio I've received a cut out eco case from so far has been Fox.
Thanks for clearing that up!

Anyone know if there will be a coupon for this?

Not sure about the coupon, but I hope so. You would think we would have received it by now though...
If they end up doing one, it probably won't be for $10, since it looks like this DVD is only going to retail for $14.49 anyway (at least on Amazon).

Odd... the Dutch edition does have a slipcover. Still not too fond of the cover. Eilowny looks horribly off-model. It's like they don't have any artists over at Disney who can draw their characters properly!

To the people that already own this:
Did you buy this in a store or was it an online store? This may be why there wasn't a slipcover included. I'm just going to wait until it comes to Walmart and see if there's a slipcover there.

It's not in stores yet or online yet. The only way to have obtained this was through the Disney Movie Club. It'll be available everywhere (online and in stores) on Sep. 14, as planned. I'm hoping once it's actually released it will have the slipcover and I'll pick up a second copy (which I was planning on doing anyways) with the slip.

According to Amazon, it came out on Monday.

I haven't seen it at all as I've not been able to get to the shops at all.

Yes it has been in UK stores since Monday.
HMV (which usually has the slipcovers) didn't have any slipcovers in store when I went on Tuesday.

I bought mine in a store.

Does anyone know if this was supposed to come out in Scandinavia (Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland Iceland)?

Just saw the Best Buy & Target ads and Black Cauldron isn't in either. This could mean a $19.99 price & limited availability. One of those titles that stores either don't get in at all or get 2 copies. Best Buy has it for $14.99 on their website but I don't know if they'll pm it & take the $3 coupon I have for any Disney dvd or blu ray too. I'm hoping they'll have it in stock for $14.99 so I'll know that I can use the coupon since nothing else is coming out for me to use it on.

Where/How did you get the $3 coupon for any Disney DVD/Blu-ray, Buffalobill? Is it through Best Buy? And is it something only you have, or can I download it through their website?
Thank you!

For those of you that already have it...
Did it come in one of those crappy eco-friendly less plastic cases?
If so, the new version is finding a home in my Gold Collection release case.

It was an email I got from DMR I believe. I printed it the max 2 times & that was all it would allow. The email is long deleted so I can't say for sure but I'm pretty sure it was a DMR one.

This comes out tomorrow in the USA, does anyone plan to head out and pick up a copy on release day (if you haven't already got a copy early or pre-ordered online)?

It's on my list to pick up tomorrow. Hoping that the price matches Best Buy's online price since the movie didn't show up in the Sunday ad.

I know we've discussed this a million times before (so don't roast me for it), but I'm really hoping we get a Blu-ray/DVD combo release in addition to the DVD only. I'm wondering if Disney sees moderate to decent sales of the DVD release, they'll go ahead with a Blu.
From what we've heard, the restoration is equistite and up-to-par with a restoration for Blu, so besides commiting to output to Blu-ray disc, re-packaging, and scheduling a 2nd release, it's not like they'd have to start from scratch. They've already done the restoration!

So... any coupons for this one?
