I love it! I love it! I love it! I love it! I love it!
There's only one thing I hated about the movie.... the REALLY bad CGI animation! The castle looked gross.... and the bells ringing looked horrible. I can look past these things though.
but where's the SOUNDTRACK??

I wanna record the songs off the DVD, but they'll have all the soundeffects in it....

All in all, I was pretty pleased with
Cinderella III. It was definitely one of the better DTV sequels. The animation surpassed
Cinderella II by a long-shot, as did the plot, which made me very happy.
It wasn't perfect, and it wasn't "as exciting as the original" as the previews claim (but who was expecting that, anyway?), but I'm glad to have it in my Disney DVD collection. In fact, I think I'm going to go watch it again...

If you don't mind me asking, how come the wedding was like TLM ? If anyone could explain, that would be wonderful!

SPOILERS
I think the wedding was like the Little Mermaid because you knew that something was wrong in this case Anastasia was Cinderella but the groom didn't.
Also did anyone notice these goofs:
1When Lady Tremaine sent Cinderella to the evil pumpkin carrige she said,"Love, and look where its gotten you" and they she pointed the wand at Cinderella she sent Cinderella to the carrige, but Lady Tremaine never said Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo.
2In the whole movie they always called Lady Tremaine Stepmother even in the credits.
3When the magic is reflected back towards Tremaine the wand is left behind, but when Tremaine used the wand to escape the castle the wand came with.[/b]

I just got it today. Well that wedding dress at the end looked a lot like the pink dress from the first movie.
I think Tremaine is gonna need more then magic to handle these

1. Yeah, the wand usage ind the film was kind of inconsistent. Sometimes the wand works without your saying a thing, sometimes it works if you simply say Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo, and other times it only works if you say out loud what you want to happen and then say Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo. Hmm...
2. This kind of bothered me, too, but only the end credit. Having Cindy call Tremaine "Stepmother" makes sense, and she does so in the original, too.
3. This didn't bother me, but I can see how it'd be a goof.

Saw it last night and again today! LOVED it! Don't get me wrong, I have my complaints. About 4 off the top of my head. However, unlike with some Disney direct to videos, for which 4 complaints are a lot because they are big complaints, these complaints aren't as serious to me. And, I noticed the inconsistency of wand rules, but, I don't know, it didn't really bother me because it almost seemed to me like the wand had a mind of its own. And, since it's a magical object, perhaps it should. I also think the whole plot is nicely consistent when you remember that in the first film the Fairy Godmother was a bit forgetful on where she had placed her wand, so I could believe that she could lose track of it long enough for it to be stolen.
Anyways, my four complaints, which really aren't major ones. First off and maybe the biggest complaint, they made this a belt out musical like the Renaissance hits. They did that with Lady and the Tramp 2, and it was really wrong for that movie. I didn't feel it was very consistent with the first film here either, but I guess since it was a princess film, it didn't seem as big of a problem. Still, it seemed a bit forced in the beginning, like the typical direct-to-video attempt at being a big screen musical. Direct to video flicks can't seem to afford songwriters that are as good as the big screen guys, so they shouldn't try unless the original was a stage-style musical too. Still, like I said, in this film (and maybe it's because I have already experienced Cinderella 2) it wasn't as much of a problem for me. Though, I thought Cinderella's introduction of herself in the beginning was a little kiddie-fied, and could have done without it. In fact, the whole beginning part of the film was the only part I didn't love, because it had feelings of the corniness of Cinderella 2.
My second complaint, and this one is also pretty bad (in fact, maybe THIS is the bigger complaint), Cindy and her prince now don't remember the famous ending of the classic story! What's up with that?! I realized they didn't want to erase the events of this film, and unlike what has been said before, I did feel this film was much more exciting (though I'm not saying it's the better film, just more fast-moving and exciting), but that's no excuse to erase the ending of the classic! What should have been done was, the Fairy Godmother should have let them remember the original events without losing the new ones. The Stepmother and Stepsisters can remember, as can the Fairy Godmother, and I suppose someone will fill Cinderella and her Prince in on the story (by the way, what's her Prince's name? I believe Prince Charming is the prince from Snow-White), but it's just not the same. Fairy Godmother should have let everyone remember the events of their first go-round also. What are the walkabout characters in the park going to give as their storyline now? Still, the movie was so good that I can get over this, but that is a troubling issue.
The other two complaints were considerably smaller. One is the fact that Christopher Daniel Barnes voiced the prince. He voices Prince Eric in the Little Mermaid, and I could tell it was him. He was great, he sounded a little different, but at times I really could here Prince Eric in his voice. Did a great job though, and I loved the way they gave the prince so much character this time. He's a valid hero now, up there with Prince Phillip, if not better! Back to voices though, before I read the credits, I though that was Jodi Benson singing for Anastasia! Glad to see that it wasn't, but it sounded just like her! Anastasia really was a bit too good of a singer, ha. Again though, this stuff wasn't a big issue. Not as bad as the other stuff. The last issue I had was about certain characters not returning. I have for a long time been worried that the horse that was Cinderella's friend in the first one died or something! He wasn't even in part 2!
Anyway, despite that stuff, LOVED the film and it was at least as big-screen worthy as Return to Neverland and surely moreso than Jungle Book 2! I wouldn't say it is better than Bambi 2, but it is very, very good. My only issue with Bambi 2 was the modern sounding songs, and besides that I found it to be excellent. This one is almost excellent, except for the first 2 complaints I mentioned. Actually, the worst one is one I didn't even count separately I think, which was the opening of the film seeming a bit too direct to video in style (with the kiddie-fied intro and anniversary party). I feel like that part could have been done better so as not to feel like Cinderella 2 quality.
Overall though, I loved Cinderella 3. I was particularly impressed with the art/animation, and how it recaptured the look of the original most of the time! Also, the characters personalities were much more on the mark than Cinderella 2. I did really like the song Jaq and Gus did for the Prince, and much of the humor, which was a relief. I also loved how gorgeous Cinderella looked. I often forget how gorgeous she is (except right after I watch her onscreen), and really is as perfect as the Renaissance princesses, both in looks and personality. Well, heck, she probably has the best personality of all the Disney princesses. And they did a great job of making her an action hero believably too! I mean, repeatedly while watching this film, my jaw would drop and I got those butterflies you get when you see the perfect woman, ha. It's a good thing to get that from a new Disney animated feature. They had kinda lost that for me over the past several years (except with Kim Possible).
By the way, anyone see that ad in the DVD about that Kilala Princess Manga? I think I want to pick that up. Interesting to see Disney's attempt at getting an Anime thing going! As a big fan of Sailor Moon, it looks like it might be something I'd find cute. I wonder if it will ever be an animated series, ha.

QUESTION IF YOU SAW MOVIE
Considering that they spent the entire tim exploring Anastasia's redemption and her desire to find real love dont you think they shouldve had a real closure scene for Anastasia where she met the baker again? They build her character up so well and then...nothing happened. A lil dissappointing dont you think?

About Anastasia being a good singer and the controversy about that. Well, in musicals, there is a difference in singing and singing your emotions. In the first Cinderella movie, Anastasia and Drizella are actually singing a song because they were having their music lessons, and it is revealed that they are horrible singers. And then, in Cinderella III, I haven't seen it yet, but is seems to me that Anastasia would be singing about finding true love and gaining her own happily ever after. But you see, she really isn't singing but expressing her thoughts in song. You get it? It's a bit confusing, but that's how it is.

Yes, I did consider that. It just isn't something that sits well with me.

Well, I thought so in my first viewing, but if you watch it again, you will see that one of the (if not THE) first paintings on the wall is of her meeting the baker. The paintings on the wall are a follow-up to the story, and indicate that they got together after all, and that Gus and Jaq became a part of the palace family (where were all the other mice in this one? I forget if part 2 had them). In fact, you should watch through at least half of the credits, because we get to see Lady Tremaine and Drizella turn human again.

In an interview a director I think was talking about how there was a side plot about gus finding a castle inside of the castle called "castle mice"and it got animated but in the end the filmmakers deleted that scene so that it wouldn't take away fro the plot.

Well, after the dreadfully icy roads here decided to calm down today, I was finally able to go to my local Best Buy and pick up my DVD! I have so far watched only about the first 1/3 of the movie (i've stopped for right now to watch American Idol) and I'm definatley liking it so far! I was so glad when I bought it that they used the ever-so-slightly tweaked cover art instead of the original one where Tremaine's nose looks smeared.
Can't wait to continue watching!

I did notice that but I think an actual scene with the two of them wouldve been a whole lot more better and significant.
Those ending credits were just plain weird, but then I saw the entire movie as weird.

Her song is about 30 seconds long, I don't think anyone should be complaining too much....

Why the hell did he do this?! Its bad enough I had to suffer without Erics voice in TLM II and now III, but he goes and does a voice for another Disney Prince?! AAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
**HEAD EXPLODES**
