Disney Legacy Collection: True Life Adventures: Wonders of the World R1 NTSC
Stunning, visually stunning!
'Allo 'Allo: Series 5 Volume 1 R2 PAL
Series 5 was the one made for the US, hence the episodes are only 24 mins long and there are 26 of them. There is a bit of a drop off in quality, probably due the aformentioned.
Hi De Hi: Series 5 and 6 R2 PAL
It's just not the same without Jeffrey somehow.
Open All Hours: Series 3 R2 PAL
G-G-G-G-G-Granville!
The Brittas Empire: Series 6 R2 PAL
Brittas is bionic? Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeexcellent!

Well, after reviewing
Air Buddies, I had the strongest inclination to see the original
Air Bud again. So before going to Quizno's for lunch, stopped at Tunes (a used cd/dvd/vhs/electronics store) to see if they had any. Luckily, they had the Canadian release (from Seville) for only $4.99, so I picked it up.
Alas, the DVD suffers the curse of the fullscreen, but at least the Canadian release isn't as barebones as the US Disney one. Got a still gallery with 17 whole pictures!

) and two trailers (theatrical, and Air Bud: Seventh Inning Fetch).
Also, since I was there, figured I'd get
Las Vegas: Season Three which they had for only $14.99
Noticed that there was also a
7th Heaven: Season Three in an amaray case, but allegedly holds six discs. Wanted to buy it just to see how it's packaged like that, but didn't really want to waste $24.99 on
7th Heaven, even if it was a good season (cause then I'd want all the other seasons since I'm a TV completist).

I really shouldn't have, especially so near to Christmas.. but.. I just couldn't help myself! Especially since Amazon.ca told me there was just one left.
So I bought the last
Atlantis Collector's Edition!

And I looked for a Treasure in order to get free shipping, and I was amazed to see that
On the Front Lines was still available! So I bought that, too

I already received my Secret Santa gift, so I was surprised when another package arrived at my door yesterday. It was another big brown box, and this time it weighed more than just a DVD. No return address, so I am in a puzzlement who sent this, so in front I am going to say thank you to whomever anonymously sent me these two wonderful 'pre' Christmas gifts.
In the mail I received:
Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man's Chest - 2-Disc Special Edition, with an attached third bonus disc; and the second package wrapped separately in plain brown paper,
24 - Season Five. Who ever is responsible for this, I want to thank you so much.
Not being able to work since October 7th, and my projected back to work day is now beyond the January 2, 2007 date as originally planned, my DVD spending has been limited to two purchases in three months, and they were both used, which I don't mind. I know after I get back to work I will have a list of a lot of titles that I am going to have to go searching for in the Previously Viewed bins at Hollywood and Lackluster Video. Will be cruising the used DVD stores and Pawn Shops like crazy also.
Just want to thank these people, or this person, for putting a great big smile on my face, and I know now that there must be a Santa Claus, because he has really taken good care of me so far.
The next best thing I would like for Christmas, and I pray for it everyday, is my returning health so I can get back to work. I have cabin fever so bad. Thanks to my son-in-law who gets me out to the movies once a week, otherwise I would be going freaky crazy stuck in this recliner.

Wow, that looks like the same cover as the R1 release (which I own). What are the features like? Ours just has a trailer and commentary

The Wizard of Oz: Two Disc Limited Edition
One of my all-time favourites, but it's taken me a while to get round to purchasing the DVD. This is the edition with the slipcover in which the Emerald City lights up and a portion of the "Yellow Brick Road/Off to see the Wizard" song plays, though god knows how much battery life it'll have left in it. I had planned to wait until the January sales before I bought any new CDs or DVDs, but I figured the price was as low as it probably ever would be, so I may as well get it now, particularly since I always used to enjoy watching this film on Christmas Eve specifically, when we went to my grandparents' house.
Anyhow, this is awesome. On top of everything else, finally, I can do that Dark Side of the Moon thing!
