^ I was four when it came out, and I feel old.

Same with Harry Potter, other Disney movies, and Kingdom Hearts.

I was 9 too. My family and I watched the film at a drive-in theater that summer. My parents bought the video tape and I didn't like how cramped the film looked on TV. Many years later, I learned about widescreen and was/am happy to see the uncramped version of TLK. :D

So, just so I'm clear - in order to get all 3 films you have to buy the box set? They aren't being released separately?

You might be able to import them,,,though i'm not sure if the other countries that have individually 2 and 1.5 are region locked or region free or you have a region free blu ray player

But at this point...you can't get the sequels without getting the Box set...Although i'm not too crazy about the stacking discs and all...I might buy a couple of blu ray boxes print off artwork and add the blu ray each to their own box...If they are packaged the way the Toy Story Trilogy was.....

Will the collection only be available in Blu-Ray?

The collection includes both DVDs and Blu-Rays for each of the movies. There is no DVD-only or BD-only option.

I've managed to buy the Platinum Edition 2-disc dvd second-hand on the internet. I received the set this saturday and it looks great. Cost me only €20. Sorry Disney, that's €20 YOU will NOT get for the pathetic 1-disc you're going to put out later this year.

It's 8 discs...blu-ray AND dvds in one box!

I just wish they'd release a similiar box for BATB.

Is it official they dvds will be stacked on top of each other or just speculation?

I am not familiar with the Euro. After converting the money into my local currency, I think you paid a lot for the Platinum Edition of the movie. Even if it was a 2nd hand copy.

I was three when it came out and I still remember seeing it in theaters. I remember pretending to be Scar and at the end when he was thrown off the cliff I threw myself out of my chair lol. Then we went to Burger King afterwards. Good times 8)

I was two when it came out and I am very proud to say that it was the first movie that I saw in a theater.

I'm not even sure I saw this in the theater. Home Video was my preference for a long time.

I remember seeing it in both the movie theater and the drive-in a bunch of times (maybe 10??). I would have been almost three so my memories are pretty foggy. The most vivid memory I have is seeing it at the drive-in, and reciting all the dialogue from the Simba/Nala argument when they're adults, because by then I guess I had memorized the movie haha.

U guys make me feel ancient, because I was 11 when I saw this in theatre.

My first movie ever in a cinema was The Little Mermaid, when I was 7.

I was in 1st grade when it came out, it was my 1st Disney film on the big screen, loved every moment of the experience, Lion King is certianly the greatest, majestic film of all time (in my opinon) and its story's heart shines thru the characters/plot. To rephrase a tagling/comment bout Peter Pan, Lion King- It'll Live In Your Heart Forever
