Disney's Divinity wrote:If you hadn’t been reading my post with a pre-existing judgment of me, you wouldn’t have taken it nearly so seriously.
That part of my post was meant to be a separate thought, unrelated to the Pixar comments. I was not saying that Pixar didn’t deserve the awards that it’s received, but that--because the company has made good films--the academy has an excuse to completely ignore Disney like they would always have liked to.
There's that conspiracy theory again, that unsupported, outrageous claim that the Academy
wants to exclude Disney; actively
seeks ways to exclude Disney; that they
like to exclude Disney. You say it like it's some kind of evil scheme. And it's not the first time, rather the hundreth time. And it directly stems from your hate against Pixar. Otherwise you wouldn't have made those comments, because those comments are meant to say that Pixar
only got the Oscar because the Academy 'hates' Disney. So I'm not prejudging. I'm judging.
Disney's Divinity wrote:Maybe you should take the advice you gave Lazario, and stop psychoanalyzing people.
Maybe you should stop your hate-campaign against Pixar and everybody who

Disney's Divinity wrote:You know as well as I do that Pavlov is most famous for his tests on canine reactions.
What you apparantly don't know, is that it's a very commonly used expression in the English language. In standard speech, it has no connotation with dogs whatsoever. It's used to describe a certain type of reaction, like e.g. Duster who will immediately defend Cinderella; DisneyJedi will immediately defend Louis; and you will immediately bash Pixar without even thinking about the arguments used by the other. The fact that you try to use that expression against me, is ample proof of the fact that to you, this discussion is not about an Oscar, but about a personal hatred you have against me.
Disney's Divinity wrote:About the "pathetic" thing--that's a bit silly, considering that's the word that's always best defined you. What is it you would say? Grow up already.
And here is where the personal hatred shines through. Because, who's the one calling the other names? Did I call you names? No, you just can't handle a dissenting opinion. You've been through one of these rages on UD before and then came back to apologize. I hope you will show that kind of character again and apologize to all the people you have insulted.
Disney's Divinity wrote:Why isn't a joke? Because you say so?
Why does all the music from Tangled blow? Because you say so?
What a hypocrite.
Anyone in this thread would know I'm hardly crazy about Tangled's music, but "I See The Light" was hardly as bad as you make it out to be.
We have different opinions. Oh, and I see you didn't like the taste of your own medicine? That's too bad.

It
does? I thought I felt that way a long time ago, when Pixar was only just started. But you would know me better than I know myself, of course. *psycho*
Btw, who gave you the right to judge? Oh, right, the God complex. Just to make it clear, you are the last person with any room to judge anyone.
Maybe you should stop your hate-campaign against Pixar and everybody who doesn't think they're evil...
Maybe you should stop your hate-campaign in general.
Goliath wrote:The fact that you try to use that expression against me, is ample proof of the fact that to you, this discussion is not about an Oscar, but about a personal hatred you have against me.
It does? Because, in this thread, you commented on me first. Who has the personal hatred here? At least I'm not stalking you into every thread you post in.
Disney's Divinity wrote:About the "pathetic" thing--that's a bit silly, considering that's the word that's always best defined you. What is it you would say? Grow up already.

Do you have severe memory loss or just a selective memory? You used "pathetic" first--I'm only rebounding it.
I have apologized to any person I felt I've insulted while I've been at UD (including SuperAurora a few pages back, which was on an unrelated subject). That doesn't include you because I've done nothing to insult you except have a different opinion--something you absolutely can't stand.
And I'm not sure why I should
have to apologize anyway. I don't need to repent for you. Seriously, that pedestal of yours has gotten mighty high.
Funnily enough, I don't think I've ever seen
you apologize for anything--and you've done this much more frequently than I have. But Gods don't ever feel like they've done wrong.
We have different opinions. Oh, and I see you didn't like the taste of your own medicine? That's too bad.
Apparently, neither do you. That's why you keep coming back.

Calm down. I'd bet money that 99% of people on this forum that download the rip of the movie are still going to go out and buy it when it's released. I certainly know that I plan on doing so.

I'm putting here in response to all the topics at the moment. It's completely off-topic, but resolution on my previous posts with Goliath:
Yes, I have to admit that I’ve let my personal life slip into my forum life somewhat, which may account for posts that have been more inflammatory the past month or so than I would’ve liked. Although I’ll also admit that I think some of it is context--what sounds mean on the internet wouldn’t sound mean if this were real life. And many of those posts on Newman were spur of the moment as well, where I didn't likely put as much thought into it as I went.
But as for admitting that I have blind hatred for all things Pixar or a blind love for all things Disney--that’s simply not true, so I can’t admit to it. I love Toy Story, The Incredibles and Monsters, Inc.; I hate the Disney Channel and I’ll never be favorable to Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs; I find Anton Ego to be one of the best characters in recent animated films and the first 15 minutes of Up is brilliant; I find BEN (a character in one of my favorite films) annoying and--yes--Louis isn’t that great either (though I still think the hate is over-dramatized); The Incredibles is easily one of the best “family“ films in recent memory and Elastigirl is kick-ass; the animation in Mermaid is shoddy and HOTR/Chicken Little are an embarrassment; and I could go on. Even in the most recent threads, I’ve supported several films by Pixar. I’m just not as crazy about them as most people are and I hope my posts aren’t coming off “rawr, my opinion matters more than anyone else’s” because that’s not what I’m intending--though it may come out that way without thinking. If anything, my posts are more antagonistic because I know I’m in the minority and any criticism I might give to any of their films will automatically receive eye-rolls.
Goliath’s also said that all my posts have been done in a personal hatred of him, which I honestly can’t say is true either. Aside from the discussions I actually have with him, I usually enjoy reading his posts. But I also disagree with him frequently (just as I do with Dduster, Swillie!, Rapunzel, etc.) and that’s the only reason I usually reply to him. The only problem I’ve ever had with him is that he’s too aggressive about defending his argument and basically annihilating the person he’s arguing (I mean "arguing" in the discussion sense of the word), and the jabs never stop after the discussion is over. He'll probably just take that as me being a "baby," but reflection never hurts anyone. And I do realize I respond harshly when someone disagrees with me, because my opinions are so close to my identity that it almost feels like an attack on me. I don’t always respond that way, but there’s a trend where I start to see everything by a certain poster as an “attack” even when it isn’t one because of previous posts I felt were attacks. Something like my reply to the Billy Ray Cyrus thread is how I usually feel towards Goliath--I disagree, but I’m not antagonistic about it. The post in the Lasseter thread did have a mocking undertone, which was intentional, but it wasn’t because it was Goliath posting so much as Lasseter being titled the “new Walt Disney.” I would’ve said the same thing to anyone who said that. I don’t deify Walt Disney (I‘ve always had a greater love of specific ‘90s films, though of course I enjoy the older films, too), and I don’t hate Lasseter (who is clearly responsible for all the good things above I listed about Pixar, as well as for giving me TP&TF--a movie I personally loved).
I know with all that that Goliath will still believe I have a blind hatred of Pixar, but I really don't know what else I can say. Again, the academy thing was not about Pixar--or any level of accusation against the quality of Pixar. I was expressing the distaste for the academy, which I had always read disliked Disney back to SW (when it only gave meaningless awards so there wouldn't be a public outcry). And, yes, it wasn't thought out and it isn't supported. It's just a feeling I've always had from reading these old stories, combined with some modern awards I felt were unfair. But it wasn't about Pixar, who has mostly earned all of its awards.
I’m not trying to play the victim--I know I’m not a victim, because I’ve only added to the problem. I hope others can equally admit that I’m not the sole person to blame here either. Still, I’m putting this out there because I don’t want to fight anymore, whatever response I get back.

Btw, who gave you the right to judge? Oh, right, the God complex. Just to make it clear, you are the last person with any room to judge anyone.
I'll judge bullshit when I see it, and I see a lot of it on UD since Newman won the Oscar for Best Song. Some people, like you, just can't let it go. You can't accept the possibility that maybe, just maybe, the people of the Academy thought that it was a better song. Because maybe, just maybe, the music and lyrics to 'I See The Light' were very bland and generic. But that idea never enters your mind. You have said it yourself: you believe that any song that would have featured in Toy Story 3 would have automatically won,
because it was Pixar's. Now is that logical reasoning or is that exposing hatred of Pixar? I say it's the latter.l
Disney's Divinity wrote:At least I'm not stalking you into every thread you post in.
Unlike you, I'm not making conspiracy theories in every thread. So that's only logical.
Disney's Divinity wrote:I have apologized to any person I felt I've insulted while I've been at UD (including SuperAurora a few pages back, which was on an unrelated subject). It's the pot who's calling the kettle black. You are the one who can't accept that people like Newman's song better, including the people at the Academy. And you keep insulting their intelligence by suggesting the Academy only did it to bash Disney. You owe these people whose intelligence you have insulted an apology. Forget about me, I don't want them.
Disney's Divinity wrote:Funnily enough, I don't think I've ever seen you apologize for anything--and you've done this much more frequently than I have. But Gods don't ever feel like they've done wrong.
Then you haven't been reading too well, as I have done that in the past. But, do you want to make this thread about who of us is more holier? Talk about a God complex indeed! (Did you learn a new word?)

I can sleep just fine. I need a copy of these movies on my computer so that I can study them frame by frame. I'm going into animation. What if I told you that someone that worked on a Disney Animated Feature actually
suggested that I do this? That it's a fantastic way to study animation? Would it make it okay then?
