Like I said in my PM, this HoH is Jay's game so technically he should have the final say in any rule changes.

So he either decided to retain the simultaneous +2/-2 or he never bothered reading my post.

Still, the simultaneous will screw up voting eventually onces there is more than one Heroine at the 40 point cap, so I'm reposting this again. If people want to follow it, they can: (and I'd rather they did)

To get this game moving faster, revert back to the original HoH rules:

Heal a Heroine with 2 points
Hurt a Heroine with 2 points
Heal a Heroine with 1 point, Hurt another Heroine with 1 point.

Too many are close to the 40-point cap that there would be no way to keep voting a simultaneous +2/-2 without going over the point cap. So the original option of just hurting or healing has to be in play.

Jay, I hope you don't mind that I'm more or less "taking over" by always ruling in. But someone has to.

And just to show I'm not just someone stepping in and taking over...I'll do a vote. (*gasp!*)

The problem with +2/-2 is that it doubles the points allotted per person per day (and +4/-4 would double that double). +1/-1 may take forever, but it's also because it's part of the three options (+2, -2, or +1/-1). Jay's game only has the +2/-2 option and thus, if too many Heroines reach the point cap, it'll get harder and harder to vote without going over the point cap. You need the option of how to use your points otherwise a game might potentially reach this point:

Then nobody could vote as a +2/-2 would simply make a 38 turn to 40 and a 40 turn to 38, then back again since the point cap is 40.

It wouldn't necessarily take forever. The +1/-1 is one of three options, thus adding some strategy to how you use your points, especially since there is a point cap and a limit to voting (1 a day). The first Hurt or Heal game took a little less than 3 months, and the second only took a month. Plenty of HoH games have used the standard rules and finished within a reasonable amount of time (except for games that get abandoned then revived). The only ones to deviate from this are the ones where people change the rules (e.g. Laz constantly changed point usage in his Madonna Songs, Jay allowed multiple voting for awhile) or where there's an obscenely large number of things to vote for (Simpsons Characters for example).

In the standard HoH, everyone has two points a day that they can only use in one of three ways:

Use the 2 points to "Heal" something (+2)
or
Use the 2 points to "Hurt" something (-2)
or
Split the 2 points into 1 each for Hurt (+1) and Heal (-1)

What you've been doing in your Heroines HoH is simply saying "Take two points from one Heroine and transfer it to another." Hence, only having the option of always doing a +2/-2 rather than the options of +2, -2, or +1/-1

For example, let's say that five people have 10 oranges.

Person A - 10 oranges
Person B - 10 oranges
Person C - 10 oranges
Person D - 10 oranges
Person E - 10 oranges

And every day, you can do one of three things:

Give somebody 2 oranges (because you have 2 oranges)
Take 2 oranges away from someone (because you want 2 oranges)
Give an orange to one person, and take an orange away from someone (because you are generous, but then you want an orange back)

It's the same thing with HoH points. You're either nice and healing something, nasty and hurting something, or nice and nasty by doing both (but as a result, you split the amount you do).

Hope it makes more sense.

And to clarify...the game WILL use the standard +2, -2, or +1/-1 rules now?
