Oh, Neutral Milk Hotel are fantastic. That album, In the Aeroplane Over the Sea, is more or less a love letter to Anne Frank, and sounds kind of like what you'd expect that to be.[/i]

I've never heard Neutral Milk Hotel but damn if I haven't heard from all the hip magazine sites (Blender, Pitchfork, Slant, etc.) that this album is one of the best of the 90's.

So, I'm checking them out now... I'm on the 4th song and, I can't lie, I'm not liking it. I guess with a cover like that, I expected something different.

It's not for everyone, at least not on the first listen. Psychedelic folk isn't exactly the easiest type of music to get into, and Magnum's vocals can seem a bit grating.

So I don't blame you for that.

Well, you've definitely pinned me there. I left that 4th song saying something like, "get this out of my ears."

Listened to another new leaked Gaga track, "Hair." I liked the drum, but apart from that, it's a huge snoozer. At this point, it doesn't seem like the album is shaping up well. But the reviews are starting to trickle in and it seems like the best tracks are not coming out as singles. I now can't wait to hear "Government Hooker," "Electric Chapel," and, hopefully, "Marry the Night" stands up to the hype it's getting.

Love me some bruthas. You never really notice it until you listen to their stuff in bulk though, but they seem to want a lot of things in their songs. To be your boyfriend, to sniff some glue, to be sedated, to not go to the basement, and so on. They sure can be petty, haha.

Jeff Buckley- Hallelujah

This song can break you, you know? Tear you up from inside. It has that power. Not so much Cohen's lyrics as Buckley's singing. Every note is an emotional bombshell.

Hey coolmanio, how did you like Gaga's new album?

I truly think that FUSE Channel had it right all weekend long when on the TV schedule it said "Lady Gagathon". What a tramp. She has a lot of talent, but she is too weird for me. Did you see her on Letterman last night. Half-naked and wearing a mask, which when she removed it, you could see Letterman thinking, "put it back on please"!!!! I, for the most part, love her music, but why all these outlandish costumes. I would prefer that Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta would just be herself. "Born This Way" is only her third album and I am looking forward to more music from her, but I cannot watch her perform or listen to her interviews because she portrays herself as such a phony person. And she should take some of those millions of dollars and have her nose fixed. I take back all I have said about Ashley Tisdale's portrubance, Stefani's nose is way out of wack for the rest of her face, or at least the two tons of make up make it look that way.

I liked it! I don't think it was as good as The Fame Monster, but it was close and definitely better than The Fame. Love "Born This Way", "Hair", "Shiesse", "Unicorn Highway", "Bloody Mary", "The Queen", and "Edge of Glory".

And I agree dvdjunkie. Her videos are bizarre, i know she is an artiste or whatever, but calm down there Gaga.

I also found this to not on par with Fame Monster. I think that is because she really reinvented herself and now writes music SHE wants to. Was never that big of a fan of rock, especially if it mixes with Gaga's stuff. Anyway, my favorite tracks are: Born This Way, Government Hooker, Judas, Americano, Hair, Scheibe, Highway Unicorn, Bloody Mary, Fashion of His Love, The Edge of Glory. I'm betting I'll like the rest more once I listen to them a few more times.

Oh and junkie, I agree with a few of your points on how Gaga dresses, but please do not say she needs fix her nose. She was born that way, nothing is wrong with it. (Ironically on the show you dislike, Rachel went through a nose-job dilemma a few episodes previous.) Surgery should be left for medical reasons, not to cover up insecurities.
