When you order a DVD from Amazon, doesn't it come with a slip cover? I was thinking of ordering my Disney DVD's from there, but I'd prefer it if it came with a slip cover.

Alan, Bambi hasn't been listed as 'on sale' so its price is $19.99.
you can ask the Costcoholic, MickeyMousePal, if Bambi's price is on sale at Costco.
Like we've all mentioned (on other threads), shops differ. You'll always be Half with slipcovers and half without slipcovers at Best buy and Wal-Mart.

Quick question 'bout slipcovers inserts and customer service

I am a Disney DVD collector and I just had a quick question about what you all thought I should do. The copies of THE LION KING 1 1/2 and A BUG'S LIFE that I purchased did not come with slipcovers, but I understand that the original copies do. I also have THE LITTLE MERMAID limited issue DVD but it is missing a chapter insert. Do you think that the folks at Disney DVD Customer Service could help me out with this? I have never called them before. Thanks for the help!

Yes. It never hurts to try.

And that's also if they have some remaining slipcovers/inserts.
You can read more about them here..

(and remember, your slipcovers got damaged if they ask.

Are you sure your Little Mermaid disc is legit? It's very common for bootleg copies to come without chapter inserts.
In recent months some studios, including Disney for a brief time in 2003, have been experimenting with leaving out inserts, but titles from 1999 or thereabouts should DEFINATELY have them. I know Mermaid does; I've seen the case at Blockbuster, with both the insert and the promotional form to get a free DVD if you buy all the Limited Issues, or whatever that now-long-expired deal was. I've also borrowed it from my local library on disc and it came with an insert from them, too.
Good luck.

I'm pretty sure. The case and disc look pretty accurate and it doesn't have the general look and feel of bootlegs that I've recieved in the past.

I'm locking this thread, as it covers subjects (slipcovers, customer service and bootlegs) that are already active in multiple other threads

Has anyone else felt a need for having a slipcover for all movies they own that came with one at some point? And then a time comes when you felt it was no longer important, that you may end up spending more funds on a movie just to make sure the slipcover is in perfect condition?
If that is not a concern many times the film can be purchased for far less. I noticed I was thinking about it a bit too much so I am no longer going to worry about it, they are nice, just a problem at times.

Tarzan II comes with a semi-holographic slipcover. Working on the review and it will appear at some point this weekend.

Well, I'm looking forward to the review; can't wait to see how the features and how bad/good the movie is!

As previously stated, most of my slipcovers have been used as teething rings by my daughter. In fact she actually chewed through the plastic case for Mickeys Magical Christmas.

I've never seen a slipcover before.
