Just so you guys know, Disney has (once again) updated their Peter Pan site, which now includes 4 movie clips (Tick Tock, Hook and Pan, Follow the Leader, and Off to Neverland), 2 clips from the Bonus Features (The Story of Tinkerbell, and The Lost Song). Plus, Disney (thankfully!) changed the song that was playing. Now, it's sound clips from "You Can Fly! You Can Fly! You Can Fly!"! (Which was what I expected in the first place, but they suprised us with the music when the bomb almost goes off...

) They also strangely enough removed the upcoming History section of the site. The game "Save Wendy" is now up and running aswell.
Personally, I think (judging JUST by the clips), the colors looked really washed out and pale. Is that just me? Other than that, from what I can tell in such a small screen it looks good.

I dont' know, I thought the clips looked pretty good. Perhaps they will look better when you are actually watching the DVD on your TV screen rather than a clip on the computer.

Maybe it's on just to promote the PE, and make people/kids aware of the Peter Pan PE coming out.

I must admit, I'm sort of sad about this release. Yes, it might proove to be the worst Platinum released yet in terms of bonus features but people seem to have lost all enthusiasm for this new release! Peter Pan is definately not one of my all time favorte DAC's, but I'm still excited that it comes out in only
nine days! I have personally NEVER owned Peter Pan, so I'm excited that I will finally own it with a new restoration and a small plate of bonus features. I know that Peter isn't nearly as popular as Little Mermaid, but I know there are a couple of die-hard Peter Pan fans out there. Yet no one seems to be excited AT ALL for this new release. Everything seems really quiet compared to the weeks leading up to other Platinums (definately TLM, but also Lady and the Tramp and Cinderella).
Well, no matter what anyone here might think about this upcoming Platinum, I'M excited for it.

Also, strangely enough, I might be picking up both the Platinum DVD for Peter Pan AS WELL as the VHS of Peter Pan on the same day!!! (Wouldn't that be wierd?) My local used movie/music store also sells VHS and I'm working on rebuying all of my Disney VHS's. And, they happened to have Peter Pan, so they're holding it for me.

I am excited, but since it's not coming out in Germany until 3/15 it's still a ong time for me to get my hands on it.
There's also a lot less fuss about this PE in stores, media,.... than when TLM came out, which is kind of sad, since Peter Pan is a great movie, but I think its disadvantage is just that it's a movie hardly anyone of us has seen in theaters, so it might not have that great an impact on many of us. TLM or Beauty and the Beast or Aladdin were for a lot of us our first ever theater-experience, so this might also be a reason why those are more appreciated.
But still, Peter Pan always made me happy watching it as a kid, and I was really waiting for this DVD to come out, since my old VHS is kinda crappy and worn out. I am looking forward to this release, but I have a feeling that all the spring PEs are maybe not so anticipated, for it doesn't seem so long a time that the last PE came out. March to October(7 months) is longer to wait than October to March (5 months), and people might not be craving for a new PE yet, as they do in Ocotber.

I am totally excited for Peter Pan's Platinum Edition release. I will admit, Peter Pan is not one of my most favorite Disney Animated Classics, but it is always great to get a new Platinum Edition. As far as the bonus features, those are usually my favorite part of the DVD, but since Peter Pan is not my favorite film I might not be as concerned with how great the bonus features are. By that I mean, I might be pleased with the bonus features on Peter Pan, while the die hard fans will be displeased. I am still excited for next Tuesday, I have the day off work and I'm ready to add a new film to my collection.

Speaking for myself, this has to be one of the most dissapointing Platinum editions ever.

There's nothing worth double dipping, except, for a brand new slipcover and a little better restoration. I loooove
Peter Pan, but I'm content, with the Special Edition DVD of the film.
I really wish, Disney, would've waited a few more years, and given this film the proper treatment it deserves, because, this is just ridiculous.
Here's hoping for those who do purchase it, that you enjoy the new restoration and overall extras!

I've stated this before, but I'll state it again. For me, I really don't care about the bonus features because the only copy of Peter Pan I have is a ratty VHS. Actually, if wasn't a Platinum or Disney classic I wouldn't be buying it at all because I don't really like it and I think the book is far more surperior (sorry fans). But I'm buying this DVD, so I mildly excited.

Well for me I am most certaintly excited because:
1. Peter Pan is my second favorite Disney Animated Classic.
2. Im excited to see all of the bonus features. Man as soon as I get it, Im going to watch it, in its knew restored/remastered format. Then watch every single feature including the easter eggs If it has any...does it?
3. The DVD I have is an unfortunate bootleg copy of an Asian import thanks to a bootleg DVD seller named NatashasDVDs123 or something like that BOOOO NATASHA!. Thankfully eBay shut her down.
4. Its a Platinum of course, and Im always excited for Platinum Realeases.
However I am sad that this Platinum Release seems to have been dumbed down a bit...Why Disney, Why? I wanna see extravagent Releases like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Beauty and the Beast. Heck even the 2003 Sleeping Beauty Release is amazing. I wanted to see more in The Little Mermaid, and less fluff in Cinderella, The Lion King is like..confusing and not so much "more to see then has ever been seen" Bambi is okay and of Course my personal favorite Platinum is Aladdin.

I don't own Peter Pan yet, so the Platinum Edition will go nicely in my collection. I have never even seen it on DVD so I'm sure the bonus features will be enough to satisfy me for this film that is certainly not a favorite of mine.

What about
Lady and the Tramp? Also, based on the commercials I've seen thus far, it looks like the Magical Flight bit may be an extravagant version of the Peter Pan ride found at the Disney parks.

Oh my God, How on earth could I have forgotten Lady and The Tramp!! Now I feel bad and must go watch it! Anyways. Lady and The Tramp was an okay Platinum, could have had a little more, nonetheless it's a good presentation of the film. If you like the restoration or not. But the first since Beauty and the Beast with no opening Slip Cover! Yar...
