This one is a gem. Especially for genuine christian people, these so-called christians ask you for your money, followed by them giving you a "quick prayer" which most of the times doesn't even make sense. The money that gets donated, however, goes into the bank account of the people who work there. Not charity, or anything.

That sounds like Scientology lol.

Actually they are not so called, & the money is not for a prayer, they run the programme on donations freely given, obviously not from people such as yourself. They served on a mercy ship for years with no wages, would you work for nothing? They are a registered charity to run the programme which helps thousands, but despite this they get ignorant of the facts people making slanderous statements all the time at them. They also mortgaged their house 100% at the start to get going & do the good work they do & if i remember correctly, they later sold it. What do people elsewhere do for others that dont get slagged off, i bet they are in it for themselves, but to make assumptions about someone you obviously know little about is typical of todays society. it is easy to point fingers, but what good did any of us do for someone else today & everyday. please dont make untrue statements as this builds an image based on mistakes or lies, thanks.

It depends. On what you're doing, why you're doing it, and if you can support yourself on other means.

Are they on Wiki? If they're worth knowing about, I might have to read up on this.

So you're saying this isn't the first time they've been criticized? Who else have gone after them?

waltmad wrote:What do people elsewhere do for others that dont get slagged off, i bet they are in it for themselves, but to make assumptions about someone you obviously know little about is typical of todays society.
Oh- I'd say that's typical of many societies, from a good many years into the past. Not just today's. And we can't forget that religious people are to blame for this too. Do you think their trials and tribulations were honestly caused by the people they try to help? Or that this skepticism was caused by people preaching bad religion?

It could have just been a joke...

Well, I see the claws are out. Look, I didn't mean to offend you, but I'd really like to see a source for all these claims. I didn't provide one, so you can call my explanation bs, but you didn't provide one either, so I should just believe you, or what? I, *personally*, believe that these people are corrupt, no television block or channel runs on charity. Is God paying off the cable companies to have their channel aired?

Lazario is right, it obviously was just a joke. If anything, it gets them more recognition. But if it offends you so deeply, I'll edit it out of my post.

Whatever the facts behind the people in the video, the guy who called had the right username (referring to himself, not the people who read it on air.)

IMO, the guy who called is a f^#$%ing moron, or whatever the phrase was...

My opinion would be the same if he called a political talk show (on EITHER side.)

I believe it was an email sent by someone, probably the uploader of the video. And the name he gave was Sofa King Wii Tar Did. Probably someone from 4chan.

Still, screening e-mails and calls beforehand might not be such a crazy idea.

no the claws are not out, sorry if that is how it appeared to you, i was pointing out how they are automatically ASSUMED to be raking it in etc when they ARE a registered charity. it is called the revelation foundation & is on public records accordingly. charity means love, & christians give donations out of love to keep this much needed programme on the air. they even once a month go through all of their accounts on air to let every one have every penny acounted for. they pay for sky sattelite time, i believe the cable companies freesat etc air it for nothing to fill their empty channels. howard the co founder did not even know about some of these until viewers told him on air. you are entitled to free speach so editing is up to you, but thank you for the offer, that is very noble of you. all i was asking is to not help promote stories about these or other people that are not true. sorry if i came over any other way, i was trying to be polite as possible but when telling someone they are wrong can be difficult to sound unoffensive.

Check the record, Wmd: You've posted in this thread and What's your religion? ... and those are the only topics you've posted in since July. Now, let's zip over to Black pearl. This thread and What's your religion? ... and those are the only topics Bp's posted in since ... Well well well... Would ya look at that: July. And a mere 2 days after you stopped posting in non-religious discussions.

Again... a little too Uncanny. You must admit.

Get this thread shut down? Why? You weren't arguing with anyone and I'm just sharing a bit of insight. Speaking of, here's the evidence:

*Ahem* If this thread continues to turn into the religion thread part II, I will lock it down too. I closed the religion thread down because a civil discussion on religion wasn't happening. I refuse to allow the hostility in that thread to invade this thread or any other.

That's great! Look at the difference in quality between a commercial like this and a McDonalds' commercial from the 80's. This one is shot darker and those late 80's / early 90's American fast food commercials were like so bright and hazy...
