The Waldenbooks at the Burlington Mall (yes, Ryan, the Burlington Mall!) is closing, and everything is 30%, and I picked up 3 more Nicholas Sparks books:
"The Rescue", "A Bend in the Road", and "The Guardian".

As of yesterday, I have officially spent all of my Christmas money. I went to the 99 Restaurant with my friend, and then we went to Waldenbooks. I have a little story about this trip, too.
So, I went to the mall with a friend on Sunday, and I saw that Waldenbooks was closing and everything is 30% off. I bought some books, and received my 30% off. Yesterday, I hung out with a different friend, and I remembered that she likes to read a lot, so I told her about the store closing. We went to the mall, and I picked out a few books (she didn't have much money, so she wasn't buying any books). The girl who rang my order up scanned a $5 coupon that was only supposed to be for people with Borders member cards (since Waldenbooks & Borders are owned by the same company). Might I add that I do not have a Borders member card. So, I got $5 in addition to my 30% off. I then said that I would buy some more books, since I had more money than I thought I would left over. My friend also decided that she could buy a couple books, since they were giving an additional $5 off. So, we both took a while picking out our books, and when we got back to the register, the girl who had rung up my previous order was nowhere in sight. A man was there now. He rang up my friend's order, and did not give the $5 coupon. She had $6, and the books rang up to just over $10. She asked how much it was again, and the guy said, and she asked how much each book was. When she figured out that he was not applying the $5 coupon, we both said that the girl had given me the $5 off of my previous order, and the guy said something like, "She gave you it even though you don't have a card?" or something, and I said "Yeah". We thought that he was going to grab the coupon and scan it for my friend, but no. We weren't sure what to do. I told my friend that I would buy her a book if I had money left over, and then I said that I could just buy one book and she could just buy one book, but she said no, that she has a Barnes & Noble gift card to use (in your face, mean Waldenbooks guy!), and the guy rang up my purchases. My friend was angry, not so much because she couldn't buy the books (she was going to buy one book for herself and one book for her boyfriend, and she didn't want to just buy for herself without getting him something), but because the girl shouldn't have given the $5 off unless everyone making purchases received the $5 off. But, she was happy that she has the Barnes & Noble gift card, and said that Barnes & Noble is probably the reason that that Waldenbooks is closing. I felt really bad, wishing that I had bought my friend something, or wishing that one of us stayed in line when the girl cashier was there, holding the spot so the other one could pay for their books while the girl was still there. My friend and I bought kind of hoped that the girl would get a speaking to. The store is closing, so she'll probably be out of a job anyway (unless she's being transferred to a different store); I'm grateful for my $5 off, but I felt bad for my friend. The guy was just mean and not friendly in general. Sure, he's losing his job (possibly), so he can be bitter, but don't be rude to your customers.
All in all, that's my story. I ended up buying (and spending the last of my Christmas money on):
1. "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking Glass" by Lewis Carrol
2. "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn" by Mark Twain
3. "Ethan Frome" by Edith Wharton
4. "Wicked" by Gregory Maguire
5. "Son of a Witch" by Gregory Maguire
6. "Flowers in the Attic" by V.C. Andrews
7. "Memoirs of a Geisha" by Arthur Golden

I figured that you'd comment on "Wicked"! Have you read the sequel? Those were both blind buys, but I know how much you and others have raved about "Wicked", and at 30% off, I couldn't say no!

Haha. I am actually in the middle of "Son of a Witch." It's decent, but I've generally heard mixed reviews on it and most say the first was better. There is also a third one titled "A Lion Among Men" that came out in October.

Yesterday was Bobby's birthday, and we went to Epcot so he could get his free gift card (since we have passes already, we didn't need the free admission to the park), and he let me use his gift card. I got:
"Disney Dogs" book, $19.95
a HSM messenger bag, $7.99 (marked from $22.95; almost all the bags in MouseGear were marked down)
a Jasmine & Rajah plush set (Rajah meows!), $18.38 or something (it was marked down 20% from its original price of $22.95 or whatever)

Sorry it took me so long to get back to your question. I really like it so far, and it's a very enjoyable introduction to Greek mythology. I bought it mostly for the illustrations, since a lot of them are beautiful original paintings for the book, and a map of Greece locating the famous mountains, temples, and shrines of the gods.
The ones of the gods though I think are a bit of a mixed bag. Some are really good, like Poseidon and Amphridite riding at sunset, and Hades and Persephone in Hades. However, there are a few bad ones here and there. Artemis reminds me a character out of Braveheart, and Apollo looks more like a Neanderthal than the vision of male beauty.

Just got 5 Indiana Jones action figures at 1 dollar each at Wal-Mart. Checked another Wal-Mart, but that one didn't have them down to 1 dollar yet.
Anyways, I got Mutt without his leather jacket, 2 German soldiers, and 2 Russian soldiers. Not the 2-packs, but the individual ones. They didn't lower the price of the other Indy stuff. It's no clearance but not lower. I'm very sad I was never able to get any Temple of Doom figures, which I believe were only released in Canada due to poor sales. I wanted those the most (not that it's my fave Indy film, but I always wanted a Short Round figure to go with my Indy figure). Also disappointed I wasn't able to land an Elsa figure or the main German baddie from Last Crusade. Too hard to find those two. They're so pricey on ebay too, and you can't trust the paint jobs on these. I am lacking a few others, but I got most of the main ones I wanted besides those.

AAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!! THE BURLINGTON MALL!!!!!!

I love it there! Depending on when we go to WDW, we will be up at the Burlington Mall either in April or June! And I guess my countdown is pretty much useless now that we had a slight change of plans...
