I lost all enthusiasm for upgrading every DAC to Blu-ray as I'd originally intended with the release of Pocahontas; it couldn't have been more disappointing to know that the special edition was no longer available as a seamless branching option. And then there was the framing issue with The Fox and the Hound, the unfixed cloud sequence in The Lion King, the poor restoration of Cinderella (I don't even own a copy of Cinderella anymore, as I'd lost the DVD and was waiting on Blu to repurchase), and then the subsequent half-*ssed flood of releases that eventually followed.

It's disappointing all around and the releases are typically far too expensive for what they are to upgrade, no matter how much I want the higher quality (I miss those $10 upgrade coupons!). My priorities with money lie elsewhere right now; when they can't even correct errors or bother including material (like the reprise of "If I Never Knew You") why should I even bother? I've admittedly lost track over much of what's currently available, what's in the vault, and what we're still waiting on.

I used to be angry in thinking that not buying Pocahontas would leave a glaring hole in my Blu-ray collection, but there's so many holes now that I guess it doesn't really matter. I'll still buy the new releases I want (including animation from studios outside of Disney, thankyouverymuch), I'll occasionally grab older personal favorites if I can find a good deal (I still want to upgrade Hunchback, for example), and I'll always succumb to certain catalog titles (The Little Mermaid comes to mind), but I've had it up to here with the likes of crappy Disney releases.

Yeah, I can't exactly handle that myself. It was a tough decision for me to choose between Roger Rabbit, Hunchback, and Mulan. I grabbed Roger Rabbit and still haven't picked up the others. Who knows when I can get around to them; it's painful to think about how I've already bought each Disney title 2-5 times in various formats and editions over the years!

God, that's gonna be expensive.

I do hope they will still come with their slipcovers, as Mulan seem to have ditched hers by now. Hope that's not gonna be a trend for them to disappear that quick.

Be aware, we charge full retail price at Disney World. As in, you'll be looking at 30-40 per film, rather than the 15-25 you can get most of them for on Amazon.

I personally am buying the Blu-Rays for the HD quality of the films. I have my DVDs still if I want the bonus features. With that said I am still going to hunt down the 2-disc DVDs of Emperor's New Groove & Atlantis, so I can have all of the bonus features.

I sort of lost interest in bonus features. The best thing about these releases are the amazing restorations and high definition. The movies are the best they've looked since they were released in cinemas. These make up for the BF shortcomings, which I've already seen on the DVDs anyhow.

Amen to that. I've grown tired of watching Special Features now.

Give me a high-quality BD transfer over bonus discs any day.

Yeh, I'm aware of that, been there in 2011 as well. I'm just gonna order them from Amazon and have them delivered to our Resort (French Quarter).
If I have them all (say 8-10 titles) shipped to Netherlands, with customs, it would cost me around $100 just for shipping/customs.

Can anyone tell me though whether the following titles still come with a slipcover?
Pocahontas, Rescuers, Aristocats?

And for example, Mulan doesn't come with a slipcover anymore, could it still be ordered from Disney as people on here have done in the past for other slipcovers?
(could someone be kind enough to post that number again, as I could try to use it when I'm in the states...)

Ehh... not sure if this is appropriate to post in this thread, but it wouldn't make sense to bump the respective threads. The new releases of Lilo and Emperor + Kronk are being sold as a double feature from Disney Movie Club for $30. Plus, if you purchase any other movie under $30 with them, you save 50%. So I purchased Lilo, Emperor, Atlantis, and Arrietty all for $60.

MK's Emporium at WDW had Cinderella, Avengers, Aristocats and Peter Pan for $28 each as an example of price.

Since we're down to a couple of weeks, anyone have any idea which of the three would possibly have a deal if you buy two together (Regarding Atlantis, Emperor's New Groove, and Lilo & Stitch) you get some amount off? Thanks.

I don't think so, but possibly Best Buy I heard had an ad for the last 3 movies that were released. I forget which ones they were at the moment

Same thing has happened with me. Most of the time I don't even bother with the features anymore. The video/audio quality is what determines my purchase now.

Which is why it especially sucks when they screw up the restoration, framing, or fail to include additional "special edition" scenes I care about or when they don't bother to fix obvious errors. I'm not as into the special features as I used to be, but I'm not about to pay more money for a current release of a film I've already bought countless times when I'm not happy with how they've handled it.

If I didn't know any better, I think Disney has something against Mark Dindal and Chris Sanders (half-kidding).

I was going to say that I can´t believe that Lilo and Stitch has no extras but at this point we all know it was expected.

What I don´t understand is why it doesn´t even include the trailers.

Atlantis on the other hand I´m amazed they´ve included and hour long making of; 1 hour! For this movie.

They've been milking that film a lot less since the regime change in 2006. It's no secret that Lasseter doesn't like it. Just my theory here though...

I've noticed that, as well. I mean, there was a time when Stitch was just as much a symbol of "Disney" as Mickey Mouse or Tinker Bell. I like to imagine the situation with "Lilo and Stitch" is similar to what happened with "Robin Hood" in the seventies and eighties-- a major success for Disney in a sea of failures that suddenly gets abandoned when Disney finds themselves riding a tide of success.

Has he actually said he doesn't like it?! Never knew that. So sad the extras are totally missing...it makes no sense that Disney tried so hard to erase all these sequels, yet they are now shoving them in our faces again instead of extras. Just bizzare.
