Yes, I noticed Dick doesn't have a song, but in his interviews, I believe he only talked about dancing. I hope you're right.

I am so happy that Rob Marshall wanted a hand drawn sequence for the film. It would've been so easy for Disney if it was CG, but Marshall was like: "No, I want a hand-drawn sequence just like the original" and I am very glad he went that direction.

I'm really glad too it was important to him to have 2D animation in the film.

As for the 9th song, I think it's possible Dick Van Dyke has a song in that scene where he dances, as you said, and they're keeping it a secret for now; but it could also be, for instance, an end credits song.

It looks practically perfect...i think this will be a lovely old-fashioned type of movie...and despite the original one is one of my favorites, I think this will be a lovely restart for the character...

Their passion for the movie, the deep love they have for the original film and it's music gives me a good boost of optimism.

^Thanks for sharing! I'm glad to know they (or at least Marc Shaiman) are fans of the original film and of the Sherman brothers. Also, that they saw this film as a big opportunity for them. It makes me a bit more optimistic about the music too.

I did wonder if any of the score would have any sort of connection to the original; it's a shame ( in my opinion ) that there won't be any sort of throwback to it, but it does make sense not to in the way they have explained.
