Let's lose the best things about Disney's Snow White and keep the worst things!

This is confusing. If you're not going to have dwarfs in the film, but instead CG magical creatures, what's the point of hiring dwarfism consultants?
A consultant on Disney’s upcoming remake of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs has spoken out about the film being a ‘good opportunity’ to change how members of the dwarfism community are represented on screen. Dr Erin Pritchard, a disability studies and education lecturer at Liverpool Hope University, has revealed that she considers her role on the project as something that will stop people ‘pointing and laughing at dwarfs’.
Talking to Team GB Paralympian Will Perry for The One Show – who also has achondroplasia – Dr Pritchard shared that her work with Disney was ‘still ongoing’, having been asked to consult on the movie before Christmas. She explained: ‘My recommendations are based on how we can still have a family-friendly film but without pointing and laughing at dwarfs.’ She added: ‘I think it’s a actually a good opportunity to change the representation [of dwarfs] – not ban it, but change it.’ As part of her ongoing work to change attitudes, Dr Pritchard said she was pushing for ‘positive representations, more true-to-life representations where a person with dwarfism is just a schoolteacher or works in a bank’.

I think Disney realizes Dinklage's outcry may be stupid and the dwarfism community wants jobs for little people actors and Disney is scrambling to figure out what they should do about the seven fictional characters.

Do people really point at and laugh at dwarfs? To the point where it’s still a “problem “? Maybe in some areas of the world where superstition and a lack of scientific sophistication runs rampant. But in the USA and Europe? I’ve never encountered it. And I’ve been around since the ‘60s.
Sure, we laugh at the Seven Dwarfs because they’re funny not because they’re dwarfs. And in truth, they’re the damn heroes of the story! And they’re miners, not bankers.

Apparently there has been a fire on set at the pinewood studios, which may cause a delay in production

I'm not sure if this has already been posted or not. Rachel Zegler talks a bit about the film in the latest issue of Empire magazine:

It hasn't been posted before, so thanks for sharing! I'm perplexed by her saying the Evil Queen won't be an archetypal villain here. What does that mean exactly? Are they going to humanize her by giving her a sad backstory? Are they going to redeem her and have her co-rule the kingdom with Snow White in the end?

I think it'll be the first thing you mentioned, similar to what they did with the stepmother in the remake of Cinderella.

I'm sure they'll give the Queen some dimension. They can do that while still making her a villain. She may not die though, maybe imprisoned at the end? The "fairest of them all" being more a looks v. character kind of dynamic between the Queen and Snow White is what I expected (and hoped for, tbh).
Zegler was very average in the WSS remake, now I've seen it. She'll be serviceable, but nothing special acting-wise. Of course, Snow White isn't going to take great acting, not like Maria who has to give that heavy speech at the end (probably a good thing they gave "Somewhere" to Rita Moreno... I think Zegler didn't carry off the dialogue that well, better not to extend that moment of her weak acting ability with a song there). Her voice wasn't quite as impressive as I remember thinking from that clip of her playing Princess Fiona that I'd seen, but it's possible they minimized her voice to an extent so she wouldn't blowout the actor for Tony's weaker vocals.

Sounds like live-action Snow White will be just like live-action Jasmine. Did they do that because of how well live-action Aladdin did?

Ziegler cut her hair short, so presumably SW will have her signature hairdo

This was noted at the bottom of the previous page. But no harm. I wish we had a historically accurate and prettier style of hair for Snow, but oh well.
