Honestly, i'm indifferent towards the title change. On one hand, yeah it would have been cool for it to be called "Rapunzel" just because that's the name of the original fairy tale. On the other hand, i'm glad it was changed for many reasons. For starters, I wrote a killer thesis mainly because of the name change gave me a great idea for a topic, so I have Disney to thank for me graduating with double honors distinctions (I know this is sort of a selfish reason). Number 2, I know i'm going to offend someone but can you imagine how many guys would feel weird saying they are going to see "Rapunzel"? I know, I know, I sound awful, but it's the truth. Again, no offense but that's just how I feel.
Yes...but think about the movie aside from who would go see it and what would fit it. Did Walt care that boys might not want to say "I'm going to see Cinderella?"

What did you think of my "more Disney" version? If you didn't like it, you can tell me, I want you to be honest and I'll always cherish your true opinion as my friend. :)

Does the Queen's voice sound a little odd to people? I imagined her with a British accent.
LOL! OMG! This is hilariously cute! I love Maximus. He's so cute.

Other than that, that was some funny stuff. :)
Although be fair, that was in Maximus's mind. I think in reality it's different probably

I agree. I pictured her having a British accent or a voice similar to Hera from Hercules.

Yea, I see what you're saying, but that was a different time and era, you know? Unfortunately, things have changed. But that doesn't necessarily mean they won't change again, you know? Ah, I wish we didn't live in such a gender-specific world!

As for your story, I think you really thought it out and have a good concept. Now that I think about it, I'm not sure if Bastian really is a good name after all. Think about it: the past princes (Philip, Eric, Naveen, Edward, Chris if you count R&H's Cinderella) have had really simple names, so Bastian really would have been out there and unique as opposed to Flynn. Although, Flynn does sound kind of lame. I think Disney did do a good job overall. To me, Tangled was classic but yet also contemporary. They set out in the beginning to make a fairy tale with a lot of heart and sincerity, and that's just what they did in my opinion. Have you seen the Barbie as Rapunzel movie? I think that one was really good as well.

I agree with Super Aurora. Max was imagining the worse ever outcome and that's why her voice was so unexpected. I still think they haven't heard the Queen speak because she didn't speak after his "vision". So I think that isn't really her actually voice, it's more like an incredible hulk moment

Overall the short was great. When Max and Pascal finally hand the rings over has got to be the funniest part! The Kiss was just great and the animation was superb! Great Job WDAS!

Honestly, I'd rather wait to see the short when I see Beauty and the Beast (hopefully tomorrow or Monday).

Loved the short! It's really sweet and funny. BatB 3D isn't playing in theatres here in The Netherlands so I'm happy I could watch it on YouTube!

The women who voiced the Queen also voices Suzy Johnson from Phineas and Ferb :o
Image

The actress is Kari Wahlgren and she did do additional voices for the original Tangled movie. So she is the original voice of the Queen!

The short was great! There's a lot of moments that made me laugh like the Queen's face when she saw Maximus and Pascal, being dirty and THE KINGDOM IS LOST part! I actually like that the Queen talks. I was really hoping that we FINALLY hear Rapunzel's parents, and we, at least, hear the Queen. And I honestly think that's her voice. I hope they make another short soon.

BTW: I'm disappointed with Rapunzel's dress. It's the SAME thing as her last dress in the movie.

@DisneyDude-Yeah, I was totally shocked that she's Suzy. Plus, the actress played one of Ariel's sisters.

Tsom, I see what you mean, but what I was trying to get at was this - how the film should be aside from what any audience tells Disney they should change to be. Disney should stay true to themselves, otherwise if people said something like...they don't like anything animated anymore, should that mean Disney should never do animation again?

Well Bastian is not much more unique or out there than Naveen, but I do agree that Flynn sounds better than Bastian. But Bastian is a better named than Eugene. If the Prince decided to become a thief so the movie could be more like the way we know Tangled now, he could adopt the name Flynn because he heard those stories in his palace, not an orphanage. I haven't seen the Barbie Rapunzel, someday I may check it out. Is it on Youtube, I don't wanna pay to see it...hehe.

Unfortunately that's not proof unless it specifically states she was the voice of the Queen in the original.

Well Wikipedia"specifically states" she is credited as The Queen and Additional Voices for the original movie, And considering all the other female voice overs have worked on Disney movies/sequels/shorts/tv series before, and are still working for disney on upcoming features. It seems a bit odd for that voice over not to reprise their role. She did voice the Queen.

I don't think anybody voiced the Queen in the original film. Unless she made noises when she was having birth in the introduction? That would explain why somebody who generally does additional, unimportant parts might've got the role.

I'll believe you but Wikipedia is not always reliable, I wish we had a more official source.

She made breathing, sighing sounds when she's reunited with Rapunzel, and she giggled with baby Rapunzel.

That was awesome  (That video was taken down, sadly. But, a quick Google search and another video came to the rescue  .)

I thought it was funny and that kiss was adorable. Plus, more Maximus and Pascal which I was expecting, but that isn't too bad.

It would probably be awesome in 3D.

And...really. Suzy as the queen? :o

The short is really cute. I'd love to see it bundled with a future Blu-ray edition of the film. :)
