Let's talk about Anna. I bet she looks twice more beautiful than Gerda (not to mention the freckles which Gerda has), especially that she's going to be the next princess. Somebody fetch me a hammer, so I can bonk myself in a head while making goo goo eyes at her! *Whistling!* *Howling!*
Also, I believe that Wizart is AFRAID that Disney's "Frozen" would most likely succeed than their version, like DreamWorks Animation's "Puss in Boots" against "The True Story of Puss in Boots."
I don't think anyone would care about The True Story of Puss In Boots whether Dreamworks released their version or not.
Wizart's Snow Queen will at best be a novelty, it will not achieve mainstream recognition. Unless of course, it is really very, very, very good.
And Wizart knows that too. Frozen will likely make a few hundred million of Tangled and Wreck-it-Ralph's good reception. Wizart will make nowhere close to that and it's fine with them, their budget is several orders of magnitude lower and they can't seriously expect to challenge the dominance of Western animation studios so easily. Among foreign animation studios, only Studio Ghibli movies can make a bit of money and even that, their most profitable one (Spirited Away) cannot touch the amounts earned by plenty of Western animated films.
I think you're right. Even though it's CGi and storyline is different, but it is a dream come true that they're finally making a movie of The Snow Queen.

Despite that I've never cared for Glee, I'm currently listening to a song that his character sang ("Hello"). I'm perfectly happy about this casting.

He shall be our first openly gay Disney prince.

And because he's dating Zachary Quinto I'm going to predict lots and lots of ridiculous Captain Spock/Kristoff fan art.
Anyway, he has an amazing voice. Perfect casting.

What? Isn't Quinto too old for him? I probably don't know Groff's age though--most of the high schoolers on Glee are played by actors in their late 20's.
And I know he isn't technically a prince (although neither is Kristoff except by marriage, if it does go that way--though it's expected), but Shang is voiced by a gay actor in
Mulan. I mention it, because I prefer that actor to Groff, tbh.
If he were playing a Kai-type character, I would likely be very excited. I can't be excited for him to be playing Kristoff, considering the character doesn't look to fit with Groff to me and if the romance is as lame as Tangled (which it likely will be, since it looks to be similar), I don't see what he would get to do that's interesting.

Nah, they're nine years apart. It's not too much. No one really frowns upon a 27 year old actress dating a 36 year old actor. There aren't that many out gay celebrity couples so there's no average or anything. I think they make a nice couple.
I'd forgotten about BD Wong, good one. Though indeed Shang isn't a prince, he is the film's leading man.

I've loved Jon Groff since Spring Awakening so I am very excited to hear this

Plus we are both from Pa and he grew up like an hour and a half from me so it makes me even more excited lol

Anyone think that Elsa & Prince Hans will look better than Anna & Kristoff, even though their villians?

Is Prince Hans even a villain at all?

We don't know if Hans is going to be a villain. We don't know anything about his role in the film. In fact, the only mention of him has been this:
In addition to the leading characters of Elsa and Anna, there were drawings of a princely male character, Hans, a fellow named Kristoff described as being “Anna's partner in crime," a goofy-looking talking snowman named Olaf and Sven, a mangy but lovable reindeer.

I'm guessing that Hans is either Anna or Elsa's betrothed-a minor character. Or maybe Hans gets jealous of Anna/Kristoff?
Really pumped that another Broadway person has joined in!
Now, Josh Gad from Book of Mormon, is rumored to be Olaf, the snowman. Hopefully soon, they will confirmed it.

I don't think Hans will be a villain being that he is named after the author of the original fairy tale and it would invite a lot of complaints if he were to be portrayed badly.

That's true, although Hans Christian Anderson was portrayed nicely in "The Little Mermaid TV series: Episode, Metal Fish, voiced by Mark Hamill aka Luke Skywalker! As for Frozen, I think if Prince Hans is in the film, his role will be somewhat similar to the Pup Thugs of "Tangled" & the Sugar Rush Racers from "Wreck-it Ralph", as he will recieve the about the same amout of screen time as the others did in their films. He should have some connection with Anna/Elsa. Whether it's good or not remands to be confirmed.

I read somewhere that Hans is a evil prince, it should be the real "cold-hearted ruler' that will take power on the kingdom... or something like that...
Anyway, back to Kristoff cast... that character is a manly, grumpy mountain man. Funny to picture him broadway-lly singing a romantic crooner song with the voice of a cute mischievious glee gay guy

Surely they wouldn't dare. Even I would consider it to be rather disrespectful. There are enough complaints about Disney disrespecting Andersen's work as it is.
Where did you hear that though?

Can't remember so forget it. But i do remember Hans is supposed to be a villain - what would be a nice tribute by the way better than gargoyles named after Victor Hugo !!!-. But maybe was it in an old script. But if my name were given to a disney villain ( which is quite the case if you check my avatar name ) - i would be honored so what 's the big deal ?

Ah, I forgot that bit about the gargoyles. On second thought, it may not be such a big deal after all.

Yeah, naming a villain after its author is not that insulting. I think it's nice. Besides, it's not as bad as:
Making a good guy in real life, and a VERY close friend to Anastasia a her family in real life, to a villain
