"Just a question that suddenly occured to me... How does Rapunzel get all her stuff? Like sheets, dolls, books, food, paint, pencils, crayons, knittingstuff, hairbrushes, fabric, soap and so on?
It seems a bit unreal that mom Gothel can bring all that stuff up there.. And there's no stairs, then how did mom Gothel ever get all the furniture up there" [quote]
If the fairies in Sleeping Beauty can't cook then how they feed Aurora on?
Don't look too deep into this.

Bake, Tristy. They can't
bake.
I can cook most savoury things without any problem, but cakes (and pastries, and biscuits, basically anything dough-based) are not my speciality. The last time I made a cake (two years ago when I was 20; I hadn't made one since I was around 12 or 13), I ended up making two, the first of which went promptly in the bin.
Maybe Gothel simply personally donated all the things in the tower for Rapunzel? Or maybe the film does dwell upon the history of the tower, even to just a slight extent.

Not too sure if this would be considered a spoiler... but I think it's fine..
There's hidden stairs on the other side of the tower. Gothel stopped using it when Rapunzel's hair was long enough to carry her up.

I was of the impression Merryweather and Flora could cook, and Merryweather and Fauna could sew. The fairies were capable, but they wanted to use this last chance to do things they've never done before.

Oh, that explains it!

maybe that stuff was in the tower already when Gothel found it... oh! and Aurora just grew up eating fruits and vegetables she got from the forest, look how thin she is, and with all those animal friends I can´t really see her eating any meat, perhaps she's the one who cooks there! Snow White knew how to make cakes, maybe so could Aurora, look how fat the fairies are! LOL

Yes, and of course, it's implied that she regularly picks berries in the wood (she did so "
yesterday"

).
And because I haven't commented on it, I'll talk about "I See the Light". I really like it, both lyrically and melodically. The first time I listened to it, it didn't do that much for me, but listening to it again for the second time, I really loved it and got it completely.

Just saw a commerciel(Yeah, forgive the spelling) for it and honestly I'm.. Not quite sure what to think now..
It looks like their trying to go for some kind of Shrek-type movie, which I don't really like. I'm not saying I don't like Shrek. I like the movies(Well, at least 1 and 2) but I feel they should have stuck with the traditional Disney-Type-Princess-y-stuff like Aurora or Cinderella for Repunzel/Tangled..

Kraken Guard just... don't even start. We have all heard the complaints, we all know that it's just the marketing that makes it look "Shrek-ish" and that the movie is a tried and true Disney fairy tale musical and that it is getting amazing feed back.

I'm very disappointed to have just found out that Tangled is not being released in New Zealand and Australia until the 6th of January 2011

I'm looking forward to it so much and don't want to have to wait over a month for it to come out here!

New at the boards and somehow grabbed the name "Tangled" Anyways, is it just me, or does Rapunzel seem like the most childish Disney princess? I saw a screening for Tangled, and sometimes Rapunzel seemed so clueless half the time. She was still a very charming and beautiful Disney princess, and she was locked in a tower for 18 years, but I felt like cheering when she finally figures out everything near the end. Btw, the following scene includes no spoilers. I just thought it was funny-
When Rapunzel knocks Flynn out with her frying pan, she actually shoves him in her closet and takes his satchel (poor Flynn XD.) Right after, she excaims something like, "There's a person in my closet!" And is preparing her speech to tell Gothel when she hits herself in the head with the frying pan. She never ends up telling Gothel. Gothel was scolding her for asking to leave the tower again, so she decided not to. THEN she ties him to the chair hides his bag (containing a crown) and after blackmailing him by refusing to give his satchel back, Flynn finally accepts.
Sorry. That was completely random, but I thought it was a funny scene XD

I believe that was the point, besides, 18 years with only 3 books and no one to really talk to except your mother... You wouldn't really know everything. Plus, Mother Gothel would want Rapunzel to feel like she needs to leave, so she treats Rapunzel like a little girl. It also makes her realization much more dramatic, like you said, makes you want to cheer for her.

I don't think the public would receive that well after the over-saturation of the disney princess franchise.
The best advertising is word of mouth - lets make this a bona fide hit by telling everyone how good it is when it comes out!

If you head over to the front page of Disney's official site right now, you'll see that they just uploaded a full 1:32 clip of the film (although you'll have to click the second link).
By the way, I'm new, here. I started following this movie around Easter weekend, and I've been looking forward to it ever since.

What an amazing clip! So sad that they cut off the part where the girls braid Rapunzels hair
