I don't have much faith it'll be a good sequel either (if it eventually goes into production), I'm mainly looking forward to this for Alan Menken's songs and the 2D animation.JeanGreyForever wrote:I'm starting to think that's probably for the better. I haven't had much faith in Disney making a proper sequel to this with the way most of the live-action remakes have gone so far. A lot of hype and enjoyment for the 2 or so hours in the theaters but nothing really satisfying afterwards to hold onto.
Enchanted is the last Disney film where I was satisfied with Menken's songs. It's a real shame that two of his unused songs for that film (the title song between Nancy and Edward and Narissa's villain song) have never been heard despite promises that they would be included on the DVD. Although I think in the WIR2 thread, Menken mentioned that he was reusing some old deleted songs of his for new ones and he was saving one in particular that was assumed to be from Enchanted.D82 wrote:I don't have much faith it'll be a good sequel either (if it eventually goes into production), I'm mainly looking forward to this for Alan Menken's songs and the 2D animation.JeanGreyForever wrote:I'm starting to think that's probably for the better. I am UNBELIEVABLY i Can’t hear the deleted title song that by the way was meant to be sung by Idina MenzelJeanGreyForever wrote:Enchanted is the last Disney film where I was satisfied with Menken's songs. Source: https://collider.com/james-marsden-inte ... -season-3/Q: Even though all production is on hold right now, it seems as though there’s finally some actual active development for the Enchanted sequel. Have you read a script? Have there been actual conversations with you about it?
James Marsden: I’ve not read a script. I hear they’re working on it. I hear they’re working on the music. I’ve had a couple of texts from some people involved. That’s the extent of it. My fingers are crossed. I’m to the point now where it’s been so long since we’ve done the first one. Every year that goes by, we talk about it and I get my hopes up, but it doesn’t happen. I’m glad to see it gaining some steam ‘cause I do think it would be a lot of fun, getting that band back together. But I also don’t wait for it, really. You’ve just gotta go forward with other things that are real. It looks real. I don’t wanna say it doesn’t look real, but I’ve been burned before. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
While animated Giselle resembles live-action Giselle/Amy Adams, she looks different enough...so I've never fully understood the whole "Amy Adams would need to be compensated for her likeness" by including Giselle in the Princess Collection, you know? Unless her contract stipulates that. It's such a unique case, I guess, since most movies don't have the same character as live-action and animated. I mean, does/did Hilary Duff get paid for every animated Lizzie McGuire doll/t-shirt that was sold? I know that animated Giselle resembles Amy Adams more than animated Lizzie does to Hilary Duff, but it's the best example I could think of...Thumper_93 wrote:I belive that if Giselle would have been a Disney princess the film would have been more beloved and the public would remember it.
I read somewhere that It was in her contract and that's why they didn't include Giselle in the franchise but I think like you...Maybe there're other facts like that Disney have to pay her for use her songs/voice...I don't kno but what I don't understand is why they release merchandise sometimes like last d23 dolls. Did they pay the actors for that?blackcauldron85 wrote:While animated Giselle resembles live-action Giselle/Amy Adams, she looks different enough...so I've never fully understood the whole "Amy Adams would need to be compensated for her likeness" by including Giselle in the Princess Collection, you know? Alan Menken: Whatever song I'm working on at that moment. Right now it's a song from our upcoming movie, Disenchanted!
Source: https://variety.com/2020/music/news/ala ... 234719961/Q: What new projects are you working on?
Alan Menken: I’m excited about the projects I’m doing. I’m working on “Disenchanted” and a new “Beauty and the Beast” prequel, “The Little Town.”
Source: https://www.iheart.com/podcast/47-len-b ... -68569466/Q: What have you been doing during the pandemic and during the shutdown?
Alan Menken: I've been juggling like eight projects. Stephen Schwartz and I have been working on a sequel to Enchanted, I've been doing a new animated [movie] with John Lasseter's new company, and working on a bunch of stage projects including the full version of Hercules that we did in Central Park last summer. Just a whole lot of stuff. I've been busy every day.
