The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring EE
One of the best movies ever made. Later this week I'll watch the rest of the trilogy.

I watched The Grudge again on Wednesday. Scary but not particularly well-organized or coherent.

The Village (I liked this a lot, Bryce Dallas Howard is fantastic in this. )
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (One of the best films of last year, amazing)
Saw (Entertaining but the acting was horrible...)
The Phantom of the Opera (Mesmerizing and beautiful, loved it)

Ooh!!! I love Phantom of the Opera!!! Very happy a movie was made!

The Butterfly Effect

Awesome movie. Altough I wouldn't buy it. I think it's one of those movies that in order to have an impact on you have to be seen just once.

And finishing Record of Lodoss War TV.... LOVE IT!

The anime, Fake

Well, if you consider tv series, I'm watching the 'Maison Ikkoku' anime. I'm really enjoying it!!!! I showed the first episode to two friends and one of them, who never enjoyed anime, loved it! The other got frustrated with a little happening in which the whole series DOESN'T revolve around, so there's hope he'll like it later.

Maison Ikkoku is simply a story about life. It starts out with this guy who lives in Maison Ikkoku. He's been studying for the college entrance exams for a whole year (failed his first time around, had to wait until the next college entrance exams next year), but finds he can't really study because the other residents of Maison Ikkoku always party and get drunk in his room. He decides to leave the place, but a new manager for Maison Ikkoku comes and he falls in love...

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Well, my daughter is two now and staying up later. Went to bed a little early tonight, and we got to watch a rarity - a live action movie over an hour and a half.

Man, I love those Indy movies. Wish they would get around to #4. They had a scripts a couple of years ago that Spielberg loved, but Lucas nixed it. I am not sure given track records why you cant make a movie out of a script Spielberg loves. Must resist rant....

The creator of that series is the same as the one who made Ranma 1/2, correct? I really enjoyed Ranma 1/2 so I should check that out.

I watched Big Fish this morning, I love it, one of my personal favorites from Burton.

Yeah. Because Lucas' scripts are sooooo goooood. *cough*Star Wars Prequels*cough*

I watched The Craft and Cruel Intentions yesterday; Sarah Michelle Gellar is awesome here.

On DVD:
Tom Hanks double-bill: the classic Forest Gump and Spielberg's The Terminal. I was really surprised by "The Terminal" and how underrated by critics it was. Hanks gives one his most sincere performances and is supported by a very nice cast of actors (Catherine Zeta Jones looks stunning, as always). Wow, and I couldn't believe it was all shot in a studio. I've never been to the New York Airport, but does it look real!

In theaters:
Finding Never Land: touching and emotional, it really deserved each nomination it got. I just don't get how its beautiful cinematography was overlooked by the Academy.
The Aviator: not Scorcese's best, but a great movie nonetheless. Leonardo DiCaprio gives a surprisingly good performance and the technical aspects of the movie are spot-on (very clever art direction, by the way).
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: I don't know the reason it took two years to arrive in Brazil, but considering I still haven't seen the original version I thought it was an OK movie.

Well, it's not a movie as such, but I watched the "On the Trail of Dick Turpin" compilation on my Best of Most Haunted Live Vol 2 DVD.

It was fantastic. Absoutely riviting for lots of reasons. For once, Derek seemed to get a lot more hits than misses with his psychic investigations, and some strange noises and behaviour were recorded on camera.

But what was best was Yvette and the team getting lost in Epping Forest. Poor Yvette was scared out of her mind before realising she was lost after seeings a shadowy figure. Then she realised she was lost. And the equipment's batteries were running out. Boy, did she turn the air blue! A Forest ranger had to come out.... and then the audience voted for her to go back into the forest. I thought she was going to cry!

The anime series Please Save My Earth.... until episode 4 (of 6).

An incredible series. Sadly the ending is such a letdown. But years ago looking in the Internet I found the translated manga, so I got to know how it really ended.
