Despite family competition from The Lego Movie and Mr. Peabody & Sherman, Tinker Bell and the Pirate Fairy sailed to a solid $1.6m (£966,920) debut from 405 sites through Disney, with 90.26% of its weekend gross coming from 2D screenings. That’s ahead of Tinker Bell and the Secret of the Wings’ UK bow of $855,000 (£528,820), with the film going on an excellent run to take $7.4m (£4.4m). Were the Pirate Fairy to emulate that run, it should be looking at a UK result of over £5m.

Flying up three places to third, Tinker Bell and the Pirate Fairy lifted 24% in its second weekend to take $2m (£1.2m), with 93.51% of its weekend gross coming from 2D screenings. With around $2.7m (£1.6m) added over the half term, Pirate Fairy has now sailed to $6.3m (£3.8m) after ten days in play and should shortly overtake Tinker Bell and the Secret of the Wings’ $7.4m (£4.4m) UK result.

Moving up three places to rank third, Disney's Tinker Bell and the Pirate Fairy posted an even stronger rise from the previous frame – up 24% – confirming the trend for families to mop up weaker titles as a school holiday nears its end. (Of course, it's also the case that Friday was a holiday this time around, providing a boost to all the family films that the previous frame didn't offer.) With modest production and marketing costs, and a rich afterlife on ancillary, the latest Tinker Bell will be a profitable film for Disney.

Falling just over 40% in its third weekend, Tinker Bell and the Pirate Fairy sailed to an additional $1.1m (£656,697) for $7.8m (£4.7m) to date. It’s now overtaken Tinker Bell and the Secret of the Wings’ $7.4m (£4.4m) UK result, and should hit £5m by the end of this coming weekend.

Tinker Bell and the Pirate Fairy is still performing well post-half-term, earning £658,312 on its third week on release.

With a 51% drop in its fourth weekend, Tinker Bell and the Pirate Fairy sailed to a further $530,000 (£318,157) for a healthy $8.4m (£5.1m) to date through Disney.

Falling 39% in its fifth weekend, Tinker Bell and the Pirate Fairy took a further $312,000 (£187,631). Disney’s animation has sailed to $8.8m (£5.3m) so far in the UK.

Dropping 25% in its sixth weekend, Tinker Bell and the Pirate Fairy sailed to an extra $236,000 (£143,000) for $9m (£5.46m) so far in the UK through Disney.

Tinkerbell: Pirate Fairy has reached $51.5m with debuts in Australia and New Zealand.

Although scheduled to go straight to home entertainment in the US on April 1, 2014, Tinker Bell and Pirate Fairy is an engaging, thoughtful executed animated work that’s earned over $8m in Britain theatrically since its Valentine’s Day premiere in the U.K., and another four or five million in a handful of other foreign territories.

Pirate Fairy, already playing in international theaters, is on course to match the $60 million in box office that Wings made in 2012.

The feature earned 51 million rubles or $1.43 million for the weekend and 138.8 million rubles or $3.99 million during the eleven days of its release. The first Fairies film earned for BVSPR $418 thousands, the second and third went directly to home video while the fourth one Secret of the Wings was released theatrically and earned for WDSSPR slightly less than $2.13 million. Thus, The Pirate Fairy has become the most successful film of the franchise.
