I'll bet that it won't bode well with the political side of things and other scare companies (like FearCo who probably avoided the energy crisis in the first movie, most likely because of Johnny Worthington).
You know, that would actually be perfect for a potential sequel; Debating on using laughs or screams as energy. I take back what I said Musical Master.
That's ok Mickeyfan1990. :)

For me, out of all of Pixar's films, it's always the monster world that has a lot of interesting things that have not been explored yet and I still believe that if there is a sequel in development, Johnny Worthington is the only one of the new characters in the prequel that is interesting enough for him to be a main character in the potential sequel.

If a sequel does happen and Johnny is in it (let alone has a major role in it), I just hope they don't make him a villain that's out for blood. He's already treated as such by the fandom and called a bully (someone who takes literally every second out of their day to make someone else's a living hell) whereas Randall is apparently pardoned for his actions in Monsters, Inc., one of those actions being attempting to use a little girl to test out a machine that could have KILLED HER and the other attempted murder on a co-worker. :glare:

Besides, I think Johnny is a very interesting character in MU.

I'm glad that you agree that Johnny was never a "big baddie" and that he is interesting enough.

For me he won't be the villian because I feel that when it comes to his character, he's the kind that wants to please and wow everyone and this new villian (the CEO of FearCo) always ignores him dispite the fact that Johnny is the one who is keeping scaring alive.

Randall was and always will be the one who wants blood spilt for what happened to him (even though he deserves what's coming to him).

Where did this random fandom pop up for a character from Monsters University whose name I totally forgot? If I had a drinking game for every Musical Master post with the mention of "Johnny Worthington", I would end up with alcohol poisoning.

Then again, if you were to ask me to name any new character from Monsters U, I would completely draw a blank.

But seriously, Johnny's fandom actually came about after when the movie was released. Plus it's Pixar, so of course there would be a random fandom for any character really.

I always just assumed he had a fandom because he is voiced by Nathan Fillion, who is someone that has a big following. I haven't seen any of his work, but everytime I see people talk about dream casting for superhero movies, he is almost always brought up to play a Marvel character.

That's definetly a big reason why Johnny is really popular with the Monsters Inc/University fandom.

Wait a minute, people actually like him?? God, I always thought he was kind of a joke. Along the lines of a Nicolas Cage type actor.

I really like Nathan Fillion, especially on Firefly. Though I honestly didn't think he brought anything to his character in MU. They honestly could have gotten anybody to play that role.

Seriously? He was great in Firefly. And while I haven't gotten into castle that has a its share of fans too. He couldnt be further from a Nic Cage type.

I do have to agree. I love Fillion's voice, but Worthington wasn't too memorable at all. Your standard college snob.

And what on earth is wrong with the Captain?

I always laugh at the scene where Johnny sells photos of the prank for charity.

Johnny: "You want me to stop raising money for charity? That's not cool."

Chet: *points to Mike* "THIS GUY HATES CHARITY!!!!"

I feel that with a character like Johnny, he could've been so much WORSE.

A character like Bradley Uppercrust III in the repetive and dissapointing An Extremely Goofy Movie, is indeed a HUGE college snob but his fraternity CHEATS to win the X-Games, tries to sabbatoge Max's teammates and worst of all, he left one of his own teammates to almost die in an accident during the final round. THAT my friends is the sterotype of a college snob gone bad.

Whereas with Worthington, he only created a prank for Oozma Kappa ONCE and then he let them alone during the training montage and did nothing. Plus he is a jerk but he is not the one who goes pure vindictive to his enemies. To me he was the only one of the new characters in Monsters University how not only stood out but was also atleast a little bit interesting.

But that's how I feel about him anyway.

Anybody noticed that the US bluray has a 5.1 option in the menu that is actually not available at all in the disc (7.1 is).
And what's more I'm having audio drop issues with the 7.1 on my sony bluray player..

Doesn't 7.1 become 5.1 automatically if that's your setup?

As for the dropouts, maybe you need to update your firmware? *shrug*

Try to update your firmware and if that won't help change the audio output from Bitstream to PCM to solve the drop issues. It's a known issue many players have when a disc with seamless branching includes a Dolby TrueHD-track.

Yeah, thanks I know about 7.1 being down mixed to 5.1 by the receiver however the fact that an option shown in the disc menu isn't at all available is not like a misprint on the paper sleeve....weird
