Wow! That's so great!! That's why I think Japanese minimal style is the best, even in covers that come from America!
Where did you get this?

Yea I've always loved that poster/image as well, its so classy and simple. It does look really awkward with that logo though....is this acutally the cover? or did someone make it? Usually many of the Japanese releases at least have the title written out in katakana or something.
ok so I just checked on disney.co.jp and that is actually it. There was an image of the cinderella release next to it, its gorgeous art too but has the american version of the logo. so they must be using different (and much better

) cover art with the american PE logos

One more thing TheSequelofDisney, "The Little Mermaid" still has the retired logo, but not the new one used for POTC2. I have a VHS copy of that one has the original logo. But on the upcoming "The Little Mermaid" DVD, that one has the original retired logo is seen here.

since ive been reading this thread for weeks, i would like to share my thoughts....
first of all, like most of you i am very excited about this dvd. i think it should have a gift set(but there's none, i suppose).
about the cover art, i agree that the characters look a little different. Sebastian's eyes are the worst!
the special features are very exciting...the commentary is the best
the ashley tisdale video...it's nice.kiss the girl meets pop rock.i like that...i think it's very contemporary.
omg....the press release...when will be the next update?the menus are very attractive.

I stumbled across two more menus from MovieMusicals.net that we haven't seen before: disc one's main menu and the index menu for the "Treasures Untold" documentary, showing that the latter runs 45 minutes. Some may call the main menu too unoriginal, but I've always loved that teaser poster image so much that I don't care. It would be cool if we saw her silhouette move since I can guarantee you at least the water and stars are animated.
The random floating icons on the "Treasures Untold" menu make me think that they could be (very obviously placed) easter eggs, perhaps outtake interviews that weren't used for the main documentary.

disc 1's main menu seems cool to me. yeah, we would really like to see Ariel move. im also a fan of the teaser poster.
im glad the treasures untold bonus feature runs 45 mins-that's solid entertainment!

These are great pictures! I can't wait to see these on my T.V. I wonder if they are easter eggs? I wonder if Ariel moves her head while we pick which feature?

I really love the disc 1 main menu. I don't think anyone could complain with that selection. 3 more months to go only!

Who are the supervising animators for TLM? The only one I know is:
Glen Keane - Ariel
Do you think that
this will be on the dvd?

Judging from the absence of the existing making-of featurettes for Lion King and Beauty and the Beast on their DVDs, I'd guess no. Especially, since it wasn't announced as being included. Which is kind of lame, because those release-time making-of pieces are definitely neat and reveal a lot more than most newly-created extras.

That documentary is 19 minutes long and the documentary that is on the DVD is 45 minutes so I'm sure everything will carried over to the new one that's really important.
