UPDATE: His Tweet got deleted. I don't think he was allowed to announce it yet. I hope he'll be ok.

How dumb do you have to be to just blatantly break your non-disclosure agreement??

It's not dumb. It was an honest mistake. He probably thought it was OK considering the film is getting released in 7 months. Let's not forget that most studios (including Pixar) announce the cast years before a film's release. It's not his fault Disney takes so unreasonably long to release any information about upcoming WDAS films.

On Winkipedia, TJ Miller, Film, there he is voicing Fred in Big Hero 6. He's also voicing a character named Tuffnut in Dreamworks HttyD 2

That's all well and fine, but seeing as how he signed the agreements, was made full aware that he is not to discuss it before it's been officially announced... just to go an "mistakenly" say something anyways... Sure it was a mistake - a dumb mistake. No matter how unreasonable you personally think it is, those are the rules. This is his career, he should know better than that. It's hardly "whoops, I didn't realize I couldn't say anything yet."

Yea, other studio's practices as to casting announcements become irrelevant once you sign a non-disclosure contract. He knew what he wasn't allowed to do, and he did it anyway.
Sure you might think the rules are silly, but he voluntarily agreed to those rules.
People have got to realise contracts are serious. There can only be so many defences to breaching contracts before they become completely redundant.

All I'm saying is that he may not had realized he wasn't supposed to say he'd been cast in the film yet. What constitutes confidential information is not always clear. I don't get why you're being so hard on the guy. It's not like he revealed any information about the movie or his character.

You guys are acting as if there hasn't been leaks of this nature before.

WDAS under Lasseter has been much more aggressive in terms of keeping things under wraps.
One of the problems he faced taking over the studio was the leaks everywhere. The production problems on Home on the Range, Brother Bear, Chicken Little and American Dog were being described in detail all over the internet. And this was continuing into the release of The Princess and the Frog. After that things got shut pretty tight, much like PIXAR.
Remember how aggressive they were last year with all the Frozen images being taken down? Disney isn't interested in having the media report on the production process of their animated films anymore. And I can't blame them.

It's not the idea of leaks that I made my initial comment about - I mean you're right that it's really not any kind of big deal at the end of the day. It was more just funny to me how blatent it was. You say he may not have been aware of what he could or couldn't say - and to that I say "well then he must be pretty dumb" - even to fans on this board it's very clear that no one is allowed to say ANYTHING until it's been announced by Disney. For someone who is in the industry, you'd just think he'd understand how this works. Or at least be made aware just by the fact that almost nothing about this film is online yet.
So yeah, it was more "haha what an idiot" than "I can't believe he would do something like this."

Then whats going on with Zootopia. WDAS had no problem showing multiple character images for this film not do out til atleast the spring of 2016. We even have a title logo & character names.
Pixar markets their film much better. Teaser trailers a year before release, even Dreamworks, remember the Me & my Shadow high-res teaser poster?
BH6 reminds me of WiR 2 years ago. 1 new image a month & virtually no intreset outside the Animation Community.

the only art I know about Zootopia is that concept art of the fox with the bunnies. What else has been released?
Also who/what exactly is Fred?

In the film, he's
supposedly an aspiring filmmaker. He had volunteered to be a test subject for the robot experiments done by Tadashi (Hiro's brother), but than he stuck around to help the Tech Lab research team with their projects. He's an eccentric and uncanny character.

Neither can I, when I consider every leak about TP&TF resulted in cries of "RACISM!!!"
That said, I don't understand why they would want to keep the cast under wraps?

well ok, Fred looks pretty cool, though the creature in the silhoutte in the promo image looks more like one of those cute aliens from the Stitch tv show than some hulking Godzilla like monster...
the Zootopia images look cute, to bad these kinds of movies arent my thing...

So I assume the Frozen posters outside the Hat Building are finally being replaced.

The teaser poster. It really isn't anything new but it's good to see that they're starting to promote this film. Hopefully a teaser trailer will be released soon.
