Sleeping Beauty trailer on Dalmations!

I, too, watched the Sleeping Beauty trailer on the Dalmations DVD--and there's something unusual about it. For some reason, Disney replaced all the original voices! That's definitely not Maleficent's voice, and I also think the fairies are different. They did the same thing for the Cinderella trailer when it was included on a past Platinum release.
Anybody else notice that very odd tidbit?

I absolutely cannot stand the trailer - while I like the scenes and concept, the new voices are a complete turnoff. If they ever did something like this to the movie, I certainly would not buy it - but I think it's just the trailer.

In Denmark too the trailer has new voices, couldn't Disney have been forced to record new oundtracks worldwide to match the 9.1 surround sound they promise? I hope the new voices are just for the trailer...

No I hate Aurora's new jewels look! I hate it when they mess that much with the princesses. I wouldn't mind if they had jeweled borders and things for the products, but I don't like her new dress and cape just like I didn't like the princesses gold gowns. I don't mind their products having gold or jewels, but I'd like the princesses themselves be left alone. Maybe I would be okay with their dresses turning gold in color, but not with all those jewels ans patterns and extra frills added.
And this new look for Aurora should not be to go with the Platinum Edition of her old, classic movie. She should look just like she does in the film, since that's what this is for.

About the deleted scenes-that's neat ,there's anything about Aurora, too? i heard in IMDB that Aurora was supposed to bleed after she touched the spindle,it will be neat to show the Phillip scene in the DVD .
I never heard about that scene before with her pricking her finger. The only one I've ever heard and read about that was deleted was the Phillip and the kingdom treasure hunt plot. I hope they include the storyboards for that and hopefully any others that they might have.
On the subject of the trailer, I think it's really neat, but the new voices for Maleficent, Phillip, Flora, and Merryweather do annoy me. I'm sure that it's just for the trailer though, and possibly for the DVD if they have the characters speak on the games or interactive menus. The one thing that makes me cringe a lot is definitely the "remastered look" they showed. I agree with most every one else has said in the warm bright look. The forest is supposed to be seen in pale blues and whites and cool colors, not the bright green and sunny look they show in the trailer. I just hope they don't mess with the color too much like they did with Peter Pan.

Does anyone else think that the Sleeping Beauty PE will just be a repackaged version of the 2003 release? Probably the only additions will be a touchup to the movie to make it look good for the Blu-ray release and one or two new features, but I think most of the extras will be the same.
If that's true, I hope they drop the foolscreen transfer from disc one and not include the FastPlay option, but fat chance of the latter happening.

Honestly, if they just drop the fullscreen transfer from disc one to allow the widescreen to look better, I'll double dip. I doubt they will, though, since "Lady and the Tramp" had both transfers.

Well, we do know there's gonna be a Virtual Castle, and UD's upcoming DVD page mentions the following:
-5.1 Dolby Digital Disney Enhanced Home Theatre Mix
-Restored Original Soundtrack
-New alternate opening "Holiday" (didn't see that coming!)
-Sleeping Beauty Castle walk-through (aka Virtual Castle)
-New music video (god help us)
-New making-of documentary (better be 50+ minutes)
-Deleted songs (expected, as "Riddle Diddle" and "Go To Sleep, Rest Ye Well" are on the commentary, and a demo for "Once Upon A Dream" plays in the 16-minute documentary)
-Disney Song Selection
-New Briar Rose's Waltz game (eh...)

Actually, screw what I said about widescreen transfer, I'd buy it to hear Zac Efron and Corbin Bleu duet on a rap cover of "Skumps".

Well, um, I actually DO NOT think the Sleeping Beauty Castle walk-through is the virtual castle, because on the old DVD they showed the artwork Eyvind Earle made for the Sleeping Beauty Castle walk-through in Disneyland. As in, that name sounds exactly like something that already exists (well, existed) and was on the old DVD. Perhaps we will get a look at what the final, actual walk-through looked like, or the re-do with 3-dimensional figures in front of backgrounds.
Anyway, Briar Rose's Waltz game confuses and worries me. They said there was going to be a game called "Maleficent's Challenge", with a description saying "you go up against one of Disney's greatest villains" or something to that effect. That sounded way more interesting.
OMG I THINK I'VE GOT IT: The Virtual Castle and Maleficent's Challenge were said to use BD-Live technology and such, so those are for the Blu-ray. What ALBERT posted was for THE DVD!

I really hope they port over all of the old DVD's bonus features, or I'll be forced to hunt down a copy of it.

Not the best song choice, but he could sing the phone book and I would like it!
Thanks for posting the features, Albert- I hadn't read those before. Yay for a new alternate ending- surely it'll be in storyboards, but that's cool!
I wonder how many of the old features will be ported over- since there's a new making-of documentary, I wonder (

) how long it will be; nothing was wrong with the one on the SE, so I wonder if any footage from that will be ported over into the new documentary??? I'm a sucker for the documentaries, and I wasn't planning on double-dipping, but if it's a new long documentary, I might.

Why does everyone always forget the second A?
The idea of Corbin Bleu singing "Skumps" is hilarious, if only because it's usage in the film semi-promotes the joys of alcohol.

Yeah, I neglected to post the Blu-Ray features (bad Albert!), just the DVD ones. And the "(aka Virtual Castle)" is missing a ?, as I wasn't sure about it either (why I didn't bother adding a ? is a ? in itself.)
Panfan wrote:I really hope they port over all of the old DVD's bonus features, or I'll be forced to hunt down a copy of it.
I have a feeling you'll be hunting down the old copy. Given the way the bonus features are arranged/created now, some features may not be carried over anymore (namely the bonus programs: "Grand Canyon", "Four Artists Paint One Tree", and "The Peter Tchaikovsky Story"). Also, the old storyboard-to-film comparisons and live-action reference footage may simply be integrated into the documentary instead of being presented on their own. The minor featurettes ("The Music", "The Design", "Creating the Backgrounds") will probably be integrated into the new documentary or replaced with new interviews (except for the late animators and Eyvind Earle, who'll likely have their old interviews used).
The restoration featurette will more than likely be dropped as it was about the older restoration and not about the digital one.
And the trailers...god, the trailers...Disney's so mixed-up on what gets trailers and what doesn't. I have a feeling they'll either carry over the 3 that's on the SE, or simply put one of them on the PE.
Any text-based materials ("History of the Story" and "1951 Outline") likely will be lost.
Finally, I have a feeling the virtual galleries will lose the fancy rooms, animation transitions, and commentary soundbites on select stills, which is a pity as they were rather cool.

Corbin Bleu? Isn't that a chicken dish?

You know, all this talk about Corbin Bleu is making me hungry. Since when do they have a chicken dish going a music video? I don't know about you, but I'd rather eat some Chicken Corbin Bleu than listen to it sing.
