The Masterpiece Edition of Alice in Wonderland was released in 2004, so it's probably about time for it to go back in the vault. Especially if we're expecting a Platinum Release of it any time soon. I'm pretty sure that we can still expect a Pinocchio PE first though, judging by the fact that it's been in the vault for many years already in the U.S.
As far as The Sword in the Stone goes, I'm assuming that after Sleeping Beauty is released this October we'll see another flood of Disney films on Blu-Ray. Maybe something like what happened when DVD came out. I think that Disney will want to bury DVD with Blu-ray because that'll promt people into buying into it a little more. I heard somewhere that Lilo & Stitch was going into the vault soon as well, not sure if this is true though. If it is, then I would expect these to back up Sleeping Beauty in Disney's Blu-ray releases sometime next fall. Perhaps also with Saludos Amigos and The Three Caballeros.
This was all purely speculation of course.

I am a bit surprised that Alice and Sword in the Stone would go in the vault as these have always been the catalog titles.

Where do you find info like this? If DVDS are going into the vault? Is there some kind of website?

I saw it on TV ads that all of the three "Cinderella" films are going back into the vault after January 31st.

What?! TWO DISC, you say?! HEARSAY!!!
Anyhow, it's really not... there's no way it's gonna get a two-disc edition anytime soon.

The Sword In The Stone and very other animated classic, except Fantasia needs there own 2-Disc Special Edition. Fantasia needs a 3-Disc Special Edition, because that movie is so good.

Anything that's still out there in Gold Collection needs to be replaced.

Every year, Disney locks away 2 movies they released on DVD into the "Disney Vault". Is it true that those DVD's will never come back? Probably not, because I know that "Snow White" will be re-released pretty soon.

There's usually more than 2 that go in the Vault at one time and they stay there for up to 7 years

Isn't it supposed to be up to 5 years now?

Hey guys. Just wanted to let you know that on the Disney DVD website, The Sword in the Stone is no longer on sale from their website. It does look like Disney will be rereleasing the movie in a new edition. Here's the website:
http://disneydvd.disney.go.com/moviefin ... 69103.html
However, the DVD is still available at Amazon and Best Buy.

Instead of making a new thread, I thought I would ask a Vault related question here (as stupid as it may or may not be)
Is Cinderella 2 going back in the vault so soon? A friend of mine said she saw a commercial saying Cinderella and Cinderella 3 were going back, and for whatever reason she added the 2nd movie in despite the fact it was just released a month or so ago. So is it going back or did I mishear what she said? (I'm assuming the latter)

It is going back into the vault along with Cindy, Cindy III and the "Aladdin" trilogy. It seemed quite pointless to have it out for only a month when it could have been rereleased alongside Cindy III, but it's Disney. What's new?

Yeah. Well, there's a Disney Vault parody on SNL's TV Funhouse for parodies of Direct-to-Video Disney films on the Disney Vault. Can you show me the link?

I hope Disney releases a new edition of The Sword In The Stone. The movie will be 45 this coming December, so a 45th Anniversary Edition would be lovely.

I don't think Sleeping Beauty has been in the vault for even 3 year. I think it's been in there for 4 years by the time it's out on Blu-Ray

The Lion King II: Simba's Pride: Special Edition was out for only a few months in 2004 before being vaulted as well (it was released several months after 1.5 was released). They likely did the same for Cindy II in order to proclaim "The Cindy Trilogy is out now! But it will be in the vault soon!" A quick re-release in order to capitalize on the artificial scarcity that they're expecting from clueless DVD buyers.

It was vaulted January 31, 2004, so it'll be about 4 years and several months when it his Blu-Ray later this year.
