I saw the re-make of Freaky Friday today since my brother bought me the DVD. It was quite enjoyable. Imagine if Dina and Lindsay swapped places for a day in real life...

I can't remember, but I've watched Lion King, National Treasure, and Sleeping Beauty recently.

Tarzan II - I found a copy for rent, so I said why not...
Stupid is the only way to describe this movie. What starts off promising ends like any other dumbed down kids movie (do they really enjoy such cheap entertainment?). Animation has improved, it looks great sure. But movements are still fairly poor and not convincing...

Mulan!!! I finally found time to watch it (I bought it after being convinced by others on this forum that it was a good blind buy). I must admit, I thought it was going to be good, but not that good!! I think it is one of the best recent Disney films and I'm incredibly glad that I purchased it! :D

Bedknobs and Broomsticks on VHS and Lilo & Stitch on Wonderful World of Disney.

I'm watching Honey, I Shrunk the Kids right now... it's been a loooong time. The funny thing is that I just watched the 100 Movie Quotes special, and two of them have already been quoted in the first 30 minutes of this movie ("Toto, I have a feeling we aren't in Kansas anymore" and "You just put your lips together and blow").

Well I just finished it ^. :float: I knew I liked it, but I'd forgotten just how good it was. Can't wait for the HISTK attractions at WDW. Anyone know what the production budget for this was? Pretty big, I'd imagine.

This was one of Disney's most successful post-Walt franchises, especially for live-action films. You'd think there would be better DVD treatment for it. Any chance we'll see a 2-Discer of the original in the near future?

I always underrate this and usually if i ever have to rank the classics this always comes near the bottom and I'm not sure why I do that, because this is a classic! Perhaps like the package features I rank them lowly because dispite the fact they are good, the don't hold together as well as a film.
You know, I just watched this yesterday, and that pretty much sums up my thoughts, too. Except I'd place it around 20 to 30 if I were ranking the animated classics. :)

Last night I watched Walt: The Man Behind the Myth

It was really great!! I cried my eyes out (at the opening of Disneyland and then kind of through the end- mostly when Walt died and all the animators/friends were talking about him).

I thought it was well-put together and I LOVED that Dick van Dyke narrated it. Many of the clips I had seen at the MGM studios "attraction"/ film on Disney but there was a lot of new (to me) footage and there were some great interviews with his daughter and family.

Great movie, I'm glad I bought it! :D

Yeah, and DVD is a <i>lot</i> better than Michael Eisner!

I'd be shocked if it weren't revisited, if not as a 2-disc, at least as an upgraded single disc. The film was easily the highest-grossing "Disney" film of the '80s, earning more than 1.5x the other 1989 family hit (<i>The Little Mermaid</i>) did in the US, plus the fact that the DVD leaves substantial room for improvement in every regard pretty much guarantees it I think. Maybe we can get a 20th Anniversary Special Edition like <i>Father of the Bride</i>...in 2008, maybe even 2007! While the animated catalogue is surely the goldmine, the Live Action catalogue leaves many possibilities for souped-up re-releases.

I'd bank on 2007! I think starting with Season One of BMW, 1 Year Early has become Disney's new unofficial policy. I didn't mention it in the review because it wasn't advertised this way and I'd already written so much, but Billy Bob refers to the new <i>Sling Blade</i> DVD as a 10th anniversay release in the bonus features, so that is apparently what the intention was, yet it's only 9 years old. But hey, as long as we get the DVDs!

This gives hope for some fine anniversary editions in 2006! Such as <i>Hercules</i>' 10th, <i>The Mighty Ducks</i>' 15th, and <i>DuckTales: The Movie</i>'s 20th! :)

And <i>Sister Act</i>'s 15th! :D :D Maybe they'll stretch <i>TLM</i> out to 20 .

Wow, it looks as though Disney is turning into me...for some reason, I always round up my age. I say to myself that I'm 20 when I'm really 17.

Anyway, to get back on topic as much as possible, the last piece of Disney stuff that I watched were some of the Fantasia special features. :)
