Great job on the "A Goofy Movie" review, Luke. I completely agree with it.
Great job on the "Meet the Robinsons" movie review, Luke. I had been undeceive about wether to see this one at the movie theatre or to wait for the dvd. Your review helped me to make up my mind. I'll definitely be seeing this one over the weekend.
Excellent job on the Spring 2007 CD Roundup, guys. I love reading the roundups. Though, I keep getting this mental image every time I think of the name:

I will definitely be picking up the "Meet the Robinsons": Soundtrack sometime soon.

Hi guys, fantastic job on the round-up. I love reading them, and its great that you cover everything Disney, like CDs, books and movies, not just DVDs. The Meet the Robinsons review was great, though I'm starting to feel like everyone hates Chicken Little (It wasn't that bad!

) Anyway, I love that you guys are going back and reviewing old DVDs, like A Goofy Movie, Inpsector Gadget 2, etc. I'm looking forward to Buzz Lightyear of Star Command (one of my favourite Disney shows) and the Jump In review. Haven't seen it and want to hear what you guys make of it. Anyway, great work, and keep it up!

Much thanks for the continued feedback. Especially glad to see kind words (and a nifty image) for the Roundup - that one required a lot of work and I'm still amazed we got it online as quickly as we did. I'm also pleased to hear that the coverage of older DVDs is appreciated; with BVHE's uncharacteristically barren spring schedule, I've been left with little choice (other than to let my writing muscles wither and this site fade from regular updates). That will change soon, of course. Hopefully, we can get a new countdown going before then, though. It's been a long time since the last one!

Wow, another countdown. That's really cool, it has been ages since the last one. I wonder what'll it'll be about, any clues Luke? Anyway, just read the Buzz Lightyear review, and even though I'm disappointed that you didn't like it, it was still really well written, as usual, and full of great info (I didn't know that it only went for 62 eps). Can't wait for more.

Wow, just saw the first page of the thread, and found out that we're getting reviews of non-Disney DVDs. That's really cool, how did that happen? Can't wait for them, if you're doing more reviews of non-Disney things, then how about Brokeback Mountain? Looking forward to Night at the Museum (which I hated), Epic Movie (which I want to know about) and Dreamgirls (which I loved). Can't wait guys.

It's part of a general shift to include non-Disney family and mainstream DVDs, in a sort of "spin-off" site of UD. Luke's still working on the new site for it, but right now those titles are sort of "testing the waters", so to speak.
BTW, Lukester, did you get my e-mail with the suggestion that we call the new site UltimateNotDisneyButEverythingElse.com, among a few other odd titles!

Wow, that's excellent news. I've always thought that this is such a great site, that they should do it for all the other DVDs as well. That's great, I hope it does well. I've always wanted to read reviews of other DVDs and TV show releases with the same scrutiny and screencaps as the Disney ones. That's so cool, I look forward to it.

Just read the Night at the Museum review. Even though I absolutely hated it, and found it tired, predictable, boring and stale, the review was damn good, covering all the aspects of the film I'd want to know about, if I liked it. And even though I hated it, it's great that they included so many bonus features on it, for the fans. Great review Luke, wonderful. I can't wait for the Dreamgirls one from Aaron, I absolutely loved that movie. Great work guys.

Amazing Night at the Museum review, Luke. Very concise, and a very comprehensive assessment of what worked and didn't work in this very enjoyable movie. I particularly enjoyed your comparison to the mid-'90s family adventure film, which is something I had picked up on myself when I watched it. This was certainly a fantastic kick-off to the UD sister site.

Thanks for the Night at the Museum review, Luke. I've been considering buying this one, and your review sealed it for me. I look forward to picking it up on payday.

It sure was. I've been thinking about the new site, will it have listings of like every DVD released, like there is for Disney or what? And will there be listings of like every TV DVD set released? I've also been thinking about the name of it, maybe just UltimateDVD.com? Something simple. And if you need help with any of the TV-on-DVD releases, feel free to contact me.

Thanks all for the recent feedback. I'm glad to hear our first non-Disney review has been warmly-received, for the most part.

Actually, I think we can forget it, since it's probably only a matter of time before it returns in print, with all the-important embossed slipcover at that!

What happened to the Dreamgirls review that was going to be up?

Yeah what happened to that? I've been anxiously waiting for it, you can't disappoint me now! Ha, I'm sure that it'll be up soon, there's probably some last minute adjustments to be made, and stuff like that. I hope it's as good as I think it'll be. Just read the Big review, very nice, but its disappointing that Tom Hanks wasn't on the audio commentary. Oh well. I don't really remember the film that much, I saw it ages ago, when I was like 8. Great job, anyway Luke, and we're anticipating a great Dreamgirls review there Aaron.

It's 4 AM and I've just finished the Dreamgirls DVD and sent it off to Luke. It would have been done earlier if not for delays due to the unreliability of a certain shipping company and a tight schedule on my part. Depending on Luke's schedule, you may very well be able to look for the review tomorrow, but I don't want to speak for him. Anyways, thanks for your patience and it will be up soon.

Ooh, yay, thanks Aaron for finishing it as quickly as you did, I wasn't expecting it till about Wednesday at the earliest. You should get some sleep, 4AM is so late for someone to be getting to bed! Great, can't wait for the review. Oh, and I just saw in your siggy that the Forum Awards are coming soon. I thought about them the other day, and thought about asking when they were coming, but I wasn't sure when the last one was. Anyway, looking forward to hearing more about the Awards and reading the review.

See you later.

Wow, that was a great Dreamgirls review Aaron. Seriously, I'm not just saying that, it was everything I hoped it would be and more. I got so much information out of it, and it was great to see the screencaps of scenes that I haven't seen for ages, and that I want to watch again. After reading this review, I really am thinking about buying it. I know I'll probably have to shell out more for the upcoming edition in December or whatever, but maybe I can work something out with my Dad. Or maybe I can buy it for my mum for Mother's Day on the weekend, she hasn't seen it, and I think it'd be just up her alley. My and my bro and sis saw this, and she saw Babel.

Babel's probably heaps good, but Dreamgirls was great. Anyway, great review, I'm going to read it again!
Oh, and BTW- was the music video for Listen the one where she is walking around a stage with long straight hair, or is that in the film? Because I've seen that a few times, and I'm not sure if that's on the DVD.

I actually just found out about that version of the music video earlier today. No, the music video included on this DVD that you see the screencap from in the review is an entirely different (and much better) one.
The one with Beyoncé walking around in an empty theater and on stage is an entirely different music video. I'm not sure why two were made. The 3-Disc version sold exclusively at Target has a "Making the Video" for this music video (the stage version) on it, which includes the full video at the end. Otherwise, this version is neither on the DVD nor in the movie. It's a pretty lame video, so you're not missing much.
Thanks a lot for reading the review and taking the time to post such thoughtful feedback!
