I'm seriously at crossroads. I mean, don't get me wrong, I absolutely would LOVE to have Bambi as a part of my Disney Blu-Ray collection.

However, I already have this film on DVD and I'm pretty much happy with it. The way I see it, this may be one of the Disney Blu-Rays that I skip.

Aw, somebody's a grumpypants! Who needs a hug? Who needs a hug?!?

That's fair enough, particularly since this Blu-ray is skimpier on the bonus features than the other Diamonds, but I mean, considering it will be around $12 with the coupon, I dunno, personally I'd buy it because 1) it's worth it to have in hi-def for me and 2) I know that since I'll eventually buy it one way or another, I'd be better off buying it now when it's cheaper. But I totally see your point for this one.

Bambi is $16.99 after coupon at Toys R Us ($26.99 regular) and you get a free plush Bambi, "a $7.99 value."

Best Buy is offering a collectible lunch box for $5 AND promotes the coupon in the weekly paper.

I said earlier that I'm going to cut back on my Disney purchases from there, but it looks like I might go back this time.

Best Buy only Coupon gets you the Blu-ray Combo Pack of "Bambi" for just $12.99, and with the extra money you saved not buying it at TRU (Toy 'R' Us) you can get the collectible lunch pail for $4.99.

I will be in line with coupon in hand at Best Buy, Tuesday morning at 9 a.m.

Change of plans. I'm not getting Bambi for now because I just confirmed my tickets for Iron Maiden, and as much as I love Disney, Maiden comes first.

I'll get it whenever I have the money.

Does anyone know how Target packages the bonus discs they offer with releases? Is it shrink-wrapped to the original packaging or something?

Also, for those of you who have shopped on Target on Disney release days, how is their stock? I might end up going to Target if they are known to stock well, because I can't get there until after work at 4:30 PM on Tuesday.

I don't know if I should get Bambi: Diamond Edition because I already own the Platinum Edition but the Diamond Edition is going to be on Blu-ray. So I have no clue if I'm going to buy it. I have to drive about 20 min. to go to TRU, Best Buy, or Target and I'm not going to drive 20 min. if I decide to buy a movie. I have a feeling that Walmart is going to sell it for 24.99. Does anybody knows how much Sears is going to sell it?

In my experience (on a multitude of occasions) Target is very poorly stocked for new releases all throughout the release week. I wonder why I continue trying, but they often have a good deal and they're convenient for me. I should give up trying to purchase at Target during a new release week because they usually have very few copies, and they're too often gone when I get there, even early in the day on Tuesday. They don't seem to restock many during the week either.

My closest Walmart usually has dozens of copies, but they usually are a bit more expensive and Walmart won't let me price match and use the coupon. I often end up paying more and using the coupon at Walmart because they have the stock.

If it's anything like how they did with "Toy Story" and "Enchanted" they had the bonus disc in a cardboard sleeve shrinkwrapped against the packaging.

And I can only speak for my Target, but I've never had trouble getting a movie the day it came out. I think a few more popular ones were sold out as the week went on (i.e. by the weekend) but never have I had a problem day of.

As much as that coupon is tempting me to upgrade my DVD, i won't, my son is not a fan and it's not on the top of my list. I am pretty happy with my DVD.

On a side note: I do think it's funny that Target and best buy are mentioning the coupon. I am guessing people complained about the coupons not working at some locations, so that's good for the people upgrading.

Yeah, it gives me a little piece of mind knowing that I can show them their own ad if a sales associate acts like they've never heard of the coupon. I am not sure about Target and Best Buy, but Toys R Us had adverised the coupon for Beauty and the Beast during release week, too.

Like the coupon shout-out too. I remember Safeway had a special Beauty and the Beast offer mentioning the DMR coupon, and you also got a pumpkin (since it was Halloween season), popcorn (?), and a Disney Princess water bottle all for $14.99 with coupon. Great deal, not that this 18-year-old boy needed a Disney Princess water bottle. 8)

They are usually in a card board sleeve, and shrink wrapped to the package under the slip cover.

I was actually thinking about skipping this Blu-ray (happy with the Platinum DVD), but I think I'm going to pick it up. The price is too good ($12.99 with coupon). Probably get mine at Best Buy. Unsure if I'll get the lunch box or not.

You should speak to a manager because you are supposed to be able to price match and use coupons. I do it all the time. Walmart is super close and always has a good stock.

I have gone back and forth on buying Bambi too since the DVD is pretty, but for the price with coupon I am going to get it. I passed up on Alice earlier even with the coupon. I am satisfied with the Masterpiece Edition of Alice.

Anyone have any inside info on what is on the bonus disc at Target? Just wondering if I need to go early to get one there before they run out as they seem to do often.

Its called Runnin' Wild: The World of Disney Animals featuring Kyle Massey and Chelsea Staub.

From Target's site it says it has exclusive trivia, games, and activities.

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to let you know that I'm nearly with the Bambi review for this site. We'd have finished it much earlier had Disney's people sent it to the right address! There's much to be said about all of the bonus features, the transfer, and the distinctions between the Platinum and Diamond Editions. And then of course there's the movie itself, which I feel strongly about it.

I hope to have it ready for posting soon!

For anyone who's wondering, I saw some copies of "Bambi" in the back room of my Target today and the bonus discs are indeed in cardboard slips shrinkwrapped with the actual case. Interestingly, though, the bonus disc was only shrinkwrapped with the DVD packaged copies, not the ones in the Blu-ray case. I'm not sure if that's an isolated case or I missed something, but just what I noticed.

Bambi II blu-ray release day for the US??

Does anyone know when Bambi II is getting released in the US? I should have the French blu-ray tomorrow or Wednesday, but I'm a stickler for having English packaging. I avoided the Mexican DUMBO for that reason and bought the Asian blu-ray of it that had (mostly) English writing on the box. Figured it would be ok until the US finally gets the much-delayed release.
If anyone has info on Bambi II I'd be interested to hear it.... is it exclusive to France for some reason??
