In celebration of AB, I created a sort of remix of The Daughters Of Triton opening from the first one to fit sort of fit it with AB.

hmmm.. I know people hear tigger when they hear Triton's new voice but I got a Razoulish sound for me..

...
it really is too bad there's no soundtrack. the I remember instrumental pinao solo when Ariel leaves the castle to free the band was beautiful..
no offense to Jodi or Sierra or anything.. but it looks like their faces have cracked from smiling too much from the looks of the bonus features on the DVD..

..
I have to admit, Marina's not that great a villian ..but at least she's ten times better than Sarousch.. and Vermin Friends banner cracks me up every time

Hope these are good... (click to enlarge)
Lemme know if not.

And if you need them slightly bigger (1019x595), tell me.
Anyway, I watched TLM3 again on Friday night, and to my surprise, I wasn't as upset with it as I was the first time. I guess it was just that I was expecting something epic the first time around, and then the second time, I just enjoyed it for what it was. Go figure.
I think they may be too small. I don't know how to resize them....

I was actually thinking he sounded more like Powhatan--Pocahontas' father.

How big do you need them? Did you click on the thumbnails?
Also, I liked the interview! Is Caitlin a user, too?

my idea would be that they actually show the ship smashing against her stomach except the camera just pans up from her from chest up and her facial expression as a deadly "ah...." and then falls back into the water where she is already dead by the time Triton cathes her in his arms.
A bit like Ursula's death in TLM??

Ya know, a line of Disney Villains prequels wouldn't be such a bad idea, showing how the Disney Villains came to be so evil. I guess that would be a bit dark for Disney though, ha. But ya gotta wonder where all the Octopus people are (I forget if they were ever on the series), or if Ursula was a mermaid and one of her spells backfired, turning her into an octopus woman.
Then what about Morgana?
I dont really remember any Octopus people in the series. I mainly remember the shark race, a have looking eel boy, the manta, the gators and I think a half shark boy. I think under the sea almost every species stays with their own.
Edit:
Ok I did a little searching and here are all the different races we saw:
Even though you cant see the guys tail in the second picture, it wasnt a mertail if I remember correctly. And Ursula may have mentioned a battle between Triton and her people.
Ursula's people are Aquamens if I hear it correctly. In the episode 'Heroes' you see how Ursula gives them verry powerfull tridents or something. And they are half men, half squid.
But then again, it is the series and even in that episode there are mistakes.
Triton says 'back before you or any of your sisters were born', then you see a flashback and his beard is already white (impossible, according to TLM3).
Also, IF TLM series is canon, then Ursula was banished before Ariel was born according to this episode.

The only episode I ever seem to catch on the late night Disney Channel reruns now is the one with Little Evil.
Well, I remember, the Evil Mantas, the Sharkanians, and the Crocodile type people. It's been a while since I've watched man episodes, so I don't recall the episode that goes into detail about Ursula. I also haven't watched Little Mermaid 2 in a LONG time, though I do own it. I need to watch it again so I can review that one on Amazon I guess.
Anyways, I did totally forget about Ursula's sister. I still think a Disney Villains movie series, like the Fairies series, is something that could be really cool if it was telling about how the villains came to be. Though, like I said, it might be rather dark for Disney and perhaps the plots would start to feel too similar after a while, all being about someone turning bad, like in Star Wars Episode 3.
In my opinion, it totally stinks that they didn't keep continuity with the series, but then a lot of films do that to the fans when they have TV shows, comics, books, and other stuff based on them.
Another thing that bothers me is that both the prequel and sequel to Little Mermaid curse Ariel with 10 years of unhappiness. I think that totally sucks. I liked Ariel's Beginning for the most part, though it seemed like an alternate reality, but accepting the sequel and prequel as canon is really sad for the character herself. When I think of canon, I will think of just the original movie and TV series I think, ha. In truth though, I'm sure Disney still only takes the original films as canon. I mean, do you really think that they train the meet 'n' greet princesses all about the direct to video prequels and sequels and stuff too? Well, I don't know, maybe they do, but it seems unlikely. It would get rather complicated, I'd think. I mean, as much as I loved Cinderella 3, aside from the overly sweet opening, it does screw with the ending of the original film too much, in my opinion, by not restoring the characters' memories of it in the end.

An overview of the episode:
King Triton, and the other residents from Atlantica are very happy to know that their hero Apollo is returning to Atlantica. Ariel and Flounder ask Triton who he is, and Triton explains. 20 years ago during the Sargasso War, Atlantica was in a battle between the Octipins who contained a triton that was more magically than King Triton's triton. Apollo, in the vines snuck up on them and broke it. After the story Apollo appears. He and Ariel go on an adventure, but Ariel and Flounder soon find out that his victory over the Atlanticans was an accident. Ursula revives the Octipins and gives them 8 magic tritons, and now Apollo becomes a hero for real.
So, Ursula is banished already, it's 20 years ago, Tritons beard is white, and it shows that there are more 'creatures' like Ursula and Morgana.
Or something.
If you want I want to upload images or something.
And alsow, a little comparison between the series and the movie...

Thanks, I remember that episode now, but not really the parts about the Octipins. Yeah, I liked that on the series Triton was the one from whom Ariel got her red hair. In the prequel, they made his hair a bit more of a brownish red and her mother the really redheaded one.
It IS amazing how weak the TV show art was compared to even the direct to video films. I noticed that right away after seeing the new film and then catching some of the show. That's why it annoys me when one of the complaints made about the direct to video stuff is that it has TV animation. Granted, most of them weren't as good as Ariel's Beginning, but they were far better than TV show animation. And then, compare Lilo and Stitch the series to the movie it is based on. I don't know precisely how close it is, but it sure has come a long way from Little Mermaid the series. Still, Little Mermaid the series was a great show and I liked the prequelization much better.

Ok see I thought they tackled Ursulas kind in the series but I wasnt sure. I did some searching and here are some pictures of the octopins.
While the animation of the series wasnt as good as DTVs or the movies, it was good for television back then espically since they probably had a lower budget to work with but it still managed to stay pretty close to the movie.

As a kid, I guess I didn't notice the difference in the animation as much...

That was a great interview with Jodi! I love how she is doing so much promotion for this film. The people who interview her seem to be almost in awe of her; as if they say, "Oh my gosh! I'm chatting to ARIEL!"
She is probably one of the most important voice artists at Disney I think.

I wish we could get our hands on the original script for the movie to see how different it is from the finished product.
