Oh right! I see what you mean.

I really do hope that Enchanted Tales is a series of movies, and not a one off. I think there is a good opportunity for Disney to expand the Princess franchise with new material, not recyled TV animation etc. I really hope they use it!

hey I found somethign very funny when I rewatched that sneek peek enchanted tales preview on Cinderella 3. When Aurora was talking to the birds about how she know the faires want to help but screw things up, she turns to a picture with frame of three faires in it.

I dunno about you but photograph never existed back then. And I doubt that was suppose to be a "small painting" either.

I just finished updating the site. I covered it in Gold, in honor of the upcoming Disney Princess Enchanted Tales: Follow Your Dreams DVD. You can expect updates up to four times a week, from now on. I also created a Dicussion Forum, on a trial basis.

Coming later this Month, to the site:
- Screencap Comparisions from Enchanted Tales to the classic flims Sleeping Beauty and Aladdin
- Princess Voice Comparisions
- Princess Wallpapers
- Princess Clipart

http://www.freewebs.com/disneyprincessenchantedtales/

----------------------------------------------------------

I also just realized that in my fanatic obsession for Disney Princesses I have created a site that competes with UD and I promoted it here on UD, as well. I did not mean to do this. I'm just a fan of Disney Princess and I love the community here on UD. I am so sorry if I infringed on anything.

Well, it's obviously DTV-quality animation and plot, but I do love how they managed to stay faithful to the colors of the original movies. I always thought it was funny that the sequels to older movies had such overly bright colors and types of shading unique to computer coloring when it's completely possible to imitate the colors of cel shaded animation.

And... After growing up with the Aladdin TV series, it's interesting to see an Aladdin spinoff WITH the computer coloring and types of shading I saw in the movie!

Wait, is it just me, or... In the wallpaper of Jasmine, carpet, and the peacocks, are the peacocks' heads kinda translucent?

Are you sure that's correct?
Cel-shaded animation (also called "cel-shading" or "toon shading") is a type of non-photorealistic rendering designed to make computer graphics appear to be hand-drawn.
If you meant it's easily to imitate the colors of the hand-painted (or CAPS colored) cels in the new sequels, and it weird how they didn't, I would agree with you.

Wow, you're right about the ones in front of the carpet at least. Huh. I love animation mistakes, don't you?

URK! Typed before I thought. I meant cel animation, pre-CAPS style. XD

But, yeah, that's what I meant. While it is possible to do brightly colored animation with cels, a lot of that animation has kind of... murkier colors.

(Well, of course Sleeping Beauty had them. Because of the Gothic-type palette, every single color has black in it)

Oh, yeah, I love the technical stuff! so, I wonder why it turned out that way. I don't know how animation software works, but I assume you could just tell the computer to put the animation for those peacocks on top of the carpet. Here, it looks like a person (or a computer working on a certain formula) erased the carpet to compensate for the heads.

Rally? They mixed black paint with every color so it would have that gothic look? There are some really light colors, like Aurora's collar or the whites of the good guy's eyes. How'd you find that out?

Your theory about the carpet being erased for the peacocks is very likely since the carpet is CG while Jasmine and the cocks are cels...or sketches scanned into a computer.

Hum, where did I find that out...? I think it may have been in The Illusion of Life, or that Disney Villains book (by the same animator authors, I believe).

According to Jim Hill, the Disney Princess Enchanted Tales will only ever be one DVD; John Lasseter wants there to be tonnes of anticipation for The Princess and The Frog, and he thinks that DPET will draw away from that. Knowing Jim Hill, however, this could be an exaggeration or completely false; In fact, it was Lasseter who originally said that the Enchanted Tales could continue after DTV sequels were finished, as they were part of the Disney Princess franchise.

I think (and hope) that this is false, because they have almost finished Belle's story and a second story for Aurora. If they're cancelling this, what will they do with those stories?

Yeah, and I was hoping for some new Snow White :(
I know alot of people trash the sequels, but it's a way in which the characters live on
(so long as they keep the original in mind, stay true to it character-wise)
the same way meet-and-greets with the characters at the Disney parks makes them real
ahah, maybe i overdosed on childlike wonder

Oh, and that doll was of Giselle, as part of the new Disney Princess Wedding collection. I stumbled upon it while looking for a source to verify that she is, in fact, a Disney Princess. I'm not a fan of dolls in any way, being male lol, but i must say she's lookin' fine :)
