I think it will not be censored, because they will need to cut many smoking scenes.
Letting the villians to smoke helps, because akmost all kids want to be like the hero(not me, I always was a die-hard fan of villians)and they can relate smoking as a "just-4-villians" and bad people stuff

Isn't it impossible that Disney will censor anything in 101 Dalmatians... Because they censored Melody Time and Make Mine Music in the 1990s. Didn't they? Because if you watch the 1998 THX-VHS re-release of The Little Mermaid, the Ariel actress mentions that Melody Time will be released that year/summer. And it's on that VHS where the first censor of that movie originates, right? And Make Mine Music was most likely also re-released in 1996, as a decade anniversary-50th. Right?
These are all theories.

Disney released Porco Rosso uncensored. Porco Rosso is a film that has tons of cigarette smoking.

I do believe Rosso means red. But what does Porco mean?

It would be something like Red Pork?
make my music I think it was censored because almost anyone knowed it and they had the censorers "pressure" so they censored it and they released one more time to sell more, and to get out of the censorers´s compromise

Porco Rosso = Crimson Pig
Roy Disney got pissed when they censored Make Mine Music & Melody Time. The censorship was done without his permission.

What did they censor?

Strange, since they didn't censor Oliver & Company, with the villian constantly having a cigar in his mouth, and even blowing the smoke into someone else's face.

Well, I guess they keep that in to prove that smoking is bad...only bad people smoke. We all know that's not true, though. I mean, what if a child had a parent that smoked? If he really took this message to the heart (I doubt he would...I doubt he'd even get the connection)it would confuse him terribly: he'd either come to resent Disney or his parents for the rest of his life.

That's actually a good point.

Did you read the rest of my message, though? It's a good point,
but what if the child is emotionally attached to someone who smokes? What if a parent or a close friend's parent or a close family member smokes?

We all know smoking is bad. I hate it myself. I tried once and that was enough for me- though I didn't cough.

Yes, I did read the rest. I was just saying that that could just be the reason it was kept in the movie. It could be bad for the child if someone they respect smokes. They have a bigger chance of taking it up. My father, who I respect deeply, smokes, but I have never had the urge to. I actually want to do it even less.

There are still hundreds of people that are addicted to it, though.
I've only tried smoking in my dreams. I'm serious, I've had at least two or three dreams when I'm smoking and I'm thinking: "it's all over..." The thing is that when I was in third or fourth grade, a health professional came to our school to give us the regular lecture of "don't smoke, it's bad for your health." They used lungs though: there was an ugly, black lung of a smoker and a clear lung of a non-smoker. I can still picture these lungs clearly in my head and it's been years since this occurred. Ever since that day, I was determined that I would never smoke. I'm not saying I actually thought about smoking before, but that was when my mind was firmly and clearly made up.
However, I still have dreams about smoking. It's weird, really...

I've had nightmares when I've smoked. But I never let it get to me.

I just worry about, you know, if I would ever be tempted to smoke. I mean, I watch old movies all the time. There's cigarettes being passed from one person to another all the time in those movies. Just ask people like Disney Guru and other old film fans.

I think peer pressure is one of the major reasons why kids smoke. Not all 'peers' pressure the kids to smoke, but that's a more difficult situation because there the kids just see cool kids or their good friends smoking cigarettes or marijuana, and they automatically think it's cool.

My sincere apologies, I really didn’t know it was a problem and I will do my best in the future to not do it again.
