After nearly 2 years of not watching any 7th Heaven (which followed seeing all of seasons 1-7), I've decided to take it back up this year, since it's the milestone 10th season, which may very well be its last... and I have DVR now.

I really enjoyed the season premiere, but that may be due solely to excitement from catching back up on the characters. The second episode... not so good. And wow- drama galore. It still has a family orientation to set it apart from some of Spelling's other work, but it's a lot more soap opera-esque than it once was. I almost wander if they intend for it to go on forever, what with all of the new characters of varying ages (Haylie Duff? give me a break ). Does anyone know if this season has been confirmed to be its final one, or if WB wants to keep it going?

While it's been a good show with a great run, until its later years, I think I agree with others that this season should be its last hurrah (hopefully with a return from Biel and Watson, and some of the classic recurring characters).

Well rumor has it I either hear that its this is the last season or they might do 1 more season after this..... personally they should just end it.

but

maybe like 1 a year have a 2 hour episode and see whats up wit them.

How Should The Show End:
Well If Its This Season I wanna see it 2 ways
1. Have Ruthie and Martin get together at the end of the show... then Simon should have his wedding and for the last five minutes we should hear Ruthie talk and she can say what happens to each chracter in the future. Every chracter there

2. Just end it with all the chracters together with noone sayin what the future is

Or Like 10 years from now they should do a TV movie of 7th heaven like what they did w/ growing pains even tho i was dissapointed wit tat

Yes, it's the final season just like Charmed (that God this show is getting dumber by the week).

I rememeber reading somewhere that 7th Heaven will finish this year.
The new 7th Heaven season starts in September with the following episodes is currently in talks to bring the show back for a 10th and final season.

The difference is that The Simpsons was at one point, a great show! (and still is, IMO)

About 7th Heaven, WOW!!! 10 SEASONS!!! That's outrageous. Even my Mom and sister who were big fans at one point, stoped watching this.

As I mentioned earlier, I always found this show terrible and boring.

I gave up the Simpson's for something else about three or four years ago. Everything is just being very redundant on the show and the humor is very strained. And besides, as I said before it is time that they ride off into the sunset with their head held high. It is time for something else on Sunday nights.

Never really watched The Simpson, even though I'm 20 now and Kram's 18, the show is still somewhat "banned" in the house. So I know that if I want to watch it, I can't watch it in front of my parents. But I've been watching a few reruns on my Fox affiliate, and while the show is genuinely funny at times, I really can't see myself devoted to the show at all.

IMO, they should've ended 7th Heaven before the kids started leaving. Not counting Sam and David, there was that one horrible season where only Lucy and Ruthie were left of the kids, along with the forgettable non-Camden characters. I never liked Kevin or Ben or Cecile or Martin or Chandler or Roxanne or Peter. The only non-Camdens I liked were the black family whose name escapes me, Robbie, Jeremy, Dena, Heather, and Shawna (was that her name? Matt's other girlfriend before he got married).

Was the awesomely-bad musical the one where Eric is singing Elvis tunes because he's dreaming? I saw previews for it and realized that they finally jumped the shark.

Escapay,
No, the musical we're talking about was a very different episode.

I must be one of the few that likes this show. :( I've been a loyal watcher since the proposal of marriage episode (where Kevin Proposes to Lucy). I am glad the show got a 10th season - its one of the few family dramas left on television, but I agree its becoming a little soap operaish. But they have dealt with serious topics - death, illness, teen pregnancy, suicide, and even informed us about the food stamp program, missing children center, the Lost Boys of Sudan........the Holocaust.

How many other shows can focus on serious topics? I mean REALLY focus?

I still think the Simpsons are good... The old episodes are great and I find the new ones just as funny as Family Guy

I still like it but like I said earlier end it now because next season will be ljust like the last 3 seasons

yankees,
I've noticed that you use the quote feature an awful lot which takes up a lot of bandwidth. Not that you can't post or anything, but quoting seems especially bad when you think about the fact that you're putting up messages we've already read.

To cause your posts to make sense, quote a sentence or two but not a whole message or paragraph.
Thanks.

HEAVEN CAN'T WAIT: The Camdens of 7th Heaven have begun their slow march toward the pearly gates. WB has pulled the plug on the 10-year-old family drama, which will air its final episode in May. Although Heaven remains a solid performer for the network, averaging 5.1 million viewers a week, the show's sky-high budget made it too costly to continue. Must be all those pricey special effects.
No......just kidding 7th Heaven got really lame lately I taped some of the newest episodes but I haven't seen them yet.
It was The WB best show in ratings for about four seasons then the ratings drop do to departing cast members Matt, Simon and Mary anyone.
Maybe 7th Heaven should have a spin-off.

Yeah, because people LOVED the seasons where more than half the cast were not the Camdens...

It's about time this show died. The first six seasons (1996-2002) were the only good ones.

Apparently Pals can see the future and he sees himself not enjoying the recent 7th Heaven episodes on his tapes! :o

I think it's time for this show to go. I do watch it all the time, but it's running out of new ideas.
I don't like all the non Camden's either, this season especially Rose.

Rose really annoys me

Yea i prefer the old episodes too and even tho i watch the new ones i will be glad when the show ends personally the show could actually get better because they would have fresh ideas from these reasons
Ruthy Dating
Sam and Davd in School
Simon with a carear
Lucys baby
^But if they did do that i guess they would be repeating themselves
but like i said earlier i woundnt mind a 2hr episode once a year so we kno whats up wit them.
