In the film class I listed above, the icebreaker was each person stating their favorite movie and why it was their favorite. Here was a quote from some girl in the class:

"Hi, my favorite movie is Finding Nemo because it looked so much realer than the older classic animated movies. I like it a lot better than The Lion King or Beauty and the Beast or any of those older movies that weren't digital."

so ya i have no life lol besides studying and watching movies

Reminds me of the scene in Monster-In-Law where the teenybopper popstar says she loves REALLY OLD movies like Grease, Grease II, The Little Mermaid, and I remember a really recent one, from like two years ago, that she listed. At that point Jane Fonda attacked her.

I've been MIA for a bit due to Freshman Orientation. I just started college and in my dorm now. It was a great big pain in the butt just to get the Internet hooked up since we had to run all these scans for viruses and crap. Anyhow for my first semester of college, I have:

~ Expository Writing (English like class that everyone here hates but has to take)
~ Biology 101 with lab
~ Chemistry 162 (yay, I'm done with lab thanks to high school!)
~ Calculus II (done with math classes after this!)
~ Perspectives in Agriculture and the Environment (social studies class that everyone here has to take)

That's all for now, just five classes. Guru, you have a lot! That's not just one semester, is it?

I think I might drop chem 2 though b/c I don't know if could do all that with bio and calc II at the same time! That's a lot of work! Anyhow, I probably won't post as much anymore b/c of college.

Dude, that's hell. I've done it, and I didn't like it! For one semester, I hardly hung out with friends, deprived Ryan of dates, and dated my books more. It's a lot of work to do: balancing 2 sciences and calculus (I hate calc), especially when you're aiming for a B/B-.

Man, that's the one semester I wish never happened. You get so lost with the world outside.

Oh you think that's a lot of hard work? Try taking Calc II and Physics for Scientist and Engineers (a 5 credit corse) and Java Programming II in one whole semester. I couldn't even handle Calc I last semester.

Sounds like me, cept I bombed out of 2 semesters, decided not to go to Florida, and instead of that, I'm taking a break to travel and clear my mind and all that good stuff.

Well I'm just a freshman, so the thought of all that for my first college semester sounds really hard.

Good luck with all your classess. My sister says engineering classes arae hard. She has to go up to Calc 5. I'm glad I only have to stop at II.

Calc 5? What school is she going to? I only have to take 3 semesters of Calc. Yes, Engineering is hard, I'm studying electrical engineering.

Rutgers University. It's a NJ State School. Well, she's in Industrial Engineering, so I guess she has to take more? I'm in Food Science so I guess that doesn't need that much math. I'm at Rutgers too.

Speaking of schools, we all mentioned our courses, so what school is everyone at? Lol, Any of you on facebook? So far I know Aaron is at University of North Carolina since its in his UD name.

Coolness! I know...two people from WDW that go to CSU. One of them is my absolute best friend, and the other was a roommate I didn't particularly like so I avoided him like the plague.

Wow!! That's impressive. We aren't even allowed to take that many (they might make an exception if one of them doesn't count towards GPA, but I'm not even sure about that).

You've hit the mark there, Aaron. French may actually be easier for many in terms of grammar, I must say. I study both German and French, and whilst French has many structures similar to English, German doesn't (honestly, German verbs actually get flung around like a tennis ball).

By the way, why the change to capitals, Mr Wallace? Your forum nickname seemed so much better in noobish. Oh, and don't talk to strangers. Like the lover of Finding Nemo girl. She is a stranger as her movie tastes are strange.

It will be exta work, but I suggest you learn Latin, because most of Europe's languages had roots in Latin or have been influenced to some extent by the language (that pesky Roman Empire ). My mother is quite fluent in Latin (in her day, students had to learn latin at school for this very reason), and as a result self-taught herself Spanish and French to competant levels simply on a couple of short European trips in her 20s.
