You've probably made your mind by the time I post this but...
I ordered the Box, but mainly because I am one of those people who just HAS to have the 'big' version of everything, all the doo-dads included. But that is me.
In the end, I guess it comes down to what you want. If it is just the film, and the dvd features, 2 disc.
If you like all the groovy stuff that goes with it, the the box. Just have to decide whether you think the groovy stuff warrant the price.

Well I'm buying the Gift Set [R1] the UK 2 disc release [r2] and the French digipack with Soundtrack CD [R2].
I prefer to get PAL discs for animation films as the definition and colours are better than NTSC (but I don't really care for live action films as it's almost always impossible to spot any differences on my equipment on live action films). And I do think the book in the gift set will be more impressive than most people here seem to think. I'm expecting a good slipcover, perhaps a bookmark and high-quality glossy paper for excellent image reproductions.
In my defence they are cheaper to collect than Disney snow globes and (assuming you've got a multi-region player) much more functional.
Yeah, I must keep repeating that to myself. One day it may be true.

I think I'll have to see LK 1 1/2 now... sounds kind of interesting. Does it cover both Lion King 1 & 2, or just 1?
Well, 2099net, I hope you're really rich, otherwise you can't convince me that all that is neccessary...

Well, one will be given to my daughter - most likely the UK version (as I'm not sure the French disc will have English language supplements).
I know I shouldn't buy them all, but I got hooked on them after buying the French Sleeping Beauty (before the 2 disc set was out in the UK and after Disney UK assured me they would not be releasing a 2 disc set

)
I've got to admit, having a few of the same collector's editions on the shelves but from different countries does look mighty impressive.

I think 2099 is a bad influence. After two conversations with him this week, I found myself spending about $120 on DVDs.
Actually, it wasn't 2099 - it was the Devil Pluto (as he is likely to point out).
Oh, well....it's a hobby. And even though it is just as addictive, it beats heroin I guess...

(We dont have a Pluto emoticon!)
Should I buy the Sleeping Beauty DVD in Sept?

I have a few dvds that I plan to buy this year disney and non disney (TTT dvd) and I never saw Sleeping Beauty, in theaters or on home video. I love romantic movies but I was wondering, for those who have seen the film. Is it good, and is it worth it to buy this set. Do you like the film and if so why? Just need some opinions here is it another snow white?
Yes I would suggest to get this great movie.

Yes, I whole heartedly recommend this movie! Of the three classic Walt fairy tales (Snow White, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty) this one's my favorite. The animation is absolutely gorgeous, and it's among the best animation ever created. Many animators have said Sleeping Beauty was their inspiration for wanting to be a Disney animator.
So in other words-buy it.

It was Walt Disney's favorite (and most expensive) film. 'nuff said.

Okay, I'm trusting you guys are right

I see that you've already made up your mind, but I'll just add this:
It had been years since I'd seen SB when I bought the UK special edition, and it just blew me away. The Eyvind Earle backgrounds are worth the price of the disc alone, IMO.

I heard the background in this movie is great. I haven't seen the Disney version yet. Saw a play at one time in my life but not the DIsney movie.

Just saw this on Amazon.Co.Uk's listing for the set
Timon & Pumbaa’s Virtual Safari: A cross between The Jungle Cruise and Indiana Jones this is one ride you don’t want to miss. Whether you choose to go by boat or by jeep with 5.1 surround sound and 15 minutes of all new animation you won’t be disappointed
Somehow, I think I will be disappointed
