Well, I didn't enjoy Dalek. They did good stuff with the Dalek, but in my mind the Doctor should never carry a gun. Let alone be ready to use it. They skated on thin ice last week having the Doctor engineer the destruction of Downing Street, but I think this week they crossed a line that shouldn't be crossed (and he only didn't use the gun because of Rose).
Anyhow here's next weeks preview:

Starring Simon "Shaun of the Dead" Pegg!

I actually didn't mind "Dalek" too much. As a basic episode designed to reintroduce the threat of a single Dalek, so that a new audience will really panic to see a fleet of them in the season finale (let's face it - we've never seen many more than few attacking at once, have we?), it works really well.
As for the Doctor's actions, I totally agree it was out of character, and that he should never be prepared to use a gun, but would add the following: We have not seen THIS Doctor before. THIS Doctor has seen all of the Time Lords, and seemingly all but one of the Daleks wiped out - at least as far as we can tell. Is it not possible, then, that the Doctor has snapped on some until now unseen level of his psyche?

If the Dalek downloaded the entire Internet, how come the mutant inside wanted to feel the sunlight? Surely it would want a Disney DVD with a slipcover that "opens like a book"?
"What do you want apart from killing?"
"I-Want-A-Dis-Ney-D-V-D-With-A-Slip-Cover"
I can see it now, the slimy mutants tentacle wrapped around a Bambi slipcover, hugging it close to it's pathetic little body, making cooing sounds of contentment.
Until it sees he's got one with out the fastener, only a glob of clear glue. Then it would go on another exterminating rampage!
"Eis-Ner Sux"
Oh and check out

Go on your own Eisner killing rampage. "Fantastic!" [cheesy "Chuckle Brothers" grin]

"Fathers Day" looks brilliant after the boring "Long Game" I'm really looking foward to this one.

Yes. Last week's was the poorest of the series. 5/10. And three of those marks for for Simon Pegg, who was as Peggtacular as ever!
Father's Day and the World War II two parter that follows look like being the highlights of the series.

To bring this back to the DVDs, here's a look at the menus for the first barebones release:

Check out the scene selection menu for The Unquiet Dead. "A Nice Cup Of Tea". Ah. It's all so British!

Episode 9 The Empty Child Trailer now online
http://www.bbc.co.uk/cult/doctorwho/ram ... 6x9_bb.ram
This one is part one of a two parter, and involves London in the Blitz and Gas Mask wearing Zombies (plus another time-traveler). It looks to be the best yet.

Well, bearing in mind why I didn't like "Dalek", even though most people seem to be raving over it, let's see what the BBFC have to say:

I have to agree, especially the bit about the Doctor and a gun.

This week's episode involving London during the Blitz, a mysterious plague carrying child and possessed, mind-controled virus stricken victims wearing gas masks has been "toned down" by the BBC.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainmen ... 557853.stm
It's the scariest episode yet!

Interesting. The BBFC have an extended version of the opening episode Rose on their website as well as the normal version (although only by a minute or so)

Well, this week's was utterly fantastic. I would go as far as saying it was the best episode of Doctor Who ever! The Empty Child itself was incredibly spooky, and we've got another edge-of-the-seat cliffhanger.
That said, don't watch the preview for the next episode The Doctor Dances if you don't like spoilers. It sort of hints at the solution to the cliffhanger.

What is this all about. The heading says New WHO on DVD. The Who is a rock and roll group with Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend. They don't have anything new out yet. There is one coming, but not until August.
Some one needs to clarify what this thread is about.

If people actually read the content, it's pretty obvious!

Boom Town (potentially in more ways than one it would seem) Trailer
http://www.bbc.co.uk/cult/doctorwho/ram ... 6x9_bb.ram
Well, I'm not too impressed with this. The return of a Slitheen is a bit of a disappointment. But it seems to touch on the Gealf's time-rift from the Unquiet Dead episode, and I'm looking forward to more Captain Jack! Besides, it just a filler until the 2 part season climax, when the "Bad Wolf" is revealed and we get to see thousands of Daleks in action!

Well the series keeps getting better and better IMO. "The Doctor Dances" was the best episode yet and "Boom Town" looks really good as well. I'm also loving new Tardis member Captain Jack, I hope he stays for the new regeneration. He could even be the new Jamie.

The BadWolf website is now online.
http://www.badwolf.org.uk/
It gives hints and theories as to the identity of the Bad Wolf.
The following is particulary interesting, given the arbitary nature of some of the "clues".
We know that the TARDIS can alter Rose and the Doctor's perceptions of the world so that they can understand alien languages... perhaps it's responsible for placing the clues about Bad Wolf all around them?
UPDATE
OK reading the Badwolf site, and making a few deductions of my own, this is my revised theory on the identity of Bad Wolf:
OK - I used to think it was Adam, because it appears he ends up in at least one of the final 2 episodes, and he has a connection to the Daleks (however slight), but I've since changed my mind. Like it says on the site, I think Adam will be used as a source of information, perhaps Rose's idea (just like she used Clive in the first episode).
Basically, I think the Bad Wolf is The Face of Boe and the TARDIS is trying to warn The Doctor and Rose, perhaps based on the conversaion in The End of the World between The Moxx and the Face. My main reason for picking The Face of Boe is that in The Unquiet Dead Gwyneth says Rose has already seen the "Big Bad Wolf", meaning it must be someone or something from Rose or The End of the World.
My other theory is that it is the Doctor - or rather Eccleston isn't the Doctor and David Tennant is (the whole Big Bad Wolf in disguise thing from Little Red Riding Hood), and Ecclestone was only contracted for a year because this twist was already know and planned (After all, there are stories of Tennant being cast
before the current series began filming). But the evidence from The End of the World (Jabe scans the Doctor as a Time Lord) and Dalek (the Doctor's fear of the Dalek, plus his conversation) leads me to think this is highly improbable.

It is funny you should mention that, because I was starting to think the same thing myself on the way to work the other day (when all good thinking is done). If that is the case, perhaps Eccleston still thinks he is the Doctor. The reason I agree with you on this point is that it would kind of justify the uncharacteristic behaviour in "Dalek".
It would also give him an "extra" regeneration for future series

Check out the disclaimer page on the BadWolf website.
http://www.badwolf.org.uk/disclaimer.html
If you're concerned by the thought that the universe has been irrevocably altered by an enormous experiment in neuro-linguistic programming, then just tell yourself "The Bad Wolf is not real. The Bad Wolf is not real. The Bad Wolf is not real."
Yep, its the TARDIS alright - altering the perceptions of it's crew. Something that was hinted at again in this week's episode, where we were once again reminded the TARDIS is telepathic and translates language. It's warning somebody. Warning... Rose.
Do a CTRL-A to select all the text, and the following is visible:
Rose - Are you there? Are you getting this? You've got the point, haven't you? Rose...?
I'm now convinced The Doctor (or somebody pretending to be the Doctor?) is the Bad Wolf.
