The craziest dang thing about this move is that a lot of the things in it really happened. They talk about it in the director commentary.

i loved the movie its sooo funny, my friends and i resite some of the lines at work
one of the kids in the movie works in the same air wing as me for the air foce reserve i've met him once after i saw the movie but not realy friends with him

The first time I saw this movie I have to say I was dissapointed and I didnt understand what all the hype was about. I guess I went to the theatres with high expectations. I got the DVD for Christmas from a friend last year and watching it again made me enjoy it more. Its one of those movies you either like or you dont. But now everyone quotes it and its talked about too much. Its gotten to the point where I cant stand to think about this movie anymore!

I can proudly say that my friend Jessi and I were one of the very first converts to the Way of the Moon Boots, loooong before the film became well-known. Fox Searchlight did a national tour of free screenings to spread the word about the film, complete with tons of free stuff (t-shirts, posters, pins, chapstick... ). It was quite inspired - I admired that they took such a chance on the film with all that promotion... O_o

Anyhoo, knowing virtually nothing about the film (other than it looked kinda quirky and silly), Jessi and I showed up for a screening. We were absolutely bowled over! Like some have said here, the film is a bit odd on the first viewing, but just gets better every time afterwards. Jessi insisted on going to another local screening the next week - more because she was hell-bent on getting a free t-shirt, the supplies of which had run out the first time we went. This was back in early July... and the two of us have been hopeless fans since.

I agree that the film really is the love-it-or-hate-it type. There's very little gray when it comes to ND. I think if you can get past the fact that the film is intentionally pointless and episodic, then you'll love it. At this point in its infamy, ND's dialogue seems to consist of nothing but quotables. It's indeed a very quotable movie... and I luuuurves it.

Well... I just watched this last night. It was one of those movies that you find laughing at once but most likely will never watch again. At least thats how I feel... Dang! TO'd... GOSH!

I think it's funny that the whole thing has become so popular. Whether people love it or hate it, everyone seems to know about it. I know the kid who played Napoleon... he was in a bunch of my college classes. I think he only made $1000 for doing the film, and the only reason he was cast was because he was the roommate of the director or someone involved.

I don't think the movie was ever meant to change anyone's life... it's just an episodic jumble of random stupidity. And it's perfect! I'm happy that kids seem to enjoy it. Any time a kid quotes Austin Powers, it makes me cringe. That's a lot of sexual humor for little kids to be exposed to... so it's refreshing to hear kids quoting a PG movie about a messed up group of weirdos in Idaho.

I don't think it's the best movie ever, but it's funny, and it's entertaining, and that's all it was trying to be.

It's so quotable and stupid that it's automatically a cult classic. Believe me, when a co worker whips out a ND movie line, you can't help but toss out a few yourself.

This movie is one of the best things ever I laugh non- stop everytime I see it. I pop it in the DVD player and just the menu cracks me up. My co-workers and I recite this movie all the time granted we wrok at Blockbuster but w/e good times.

And to stay on topic, I saw the film back when it came on DVD at a friend's house, and I was exhausted, but I stayed up for it all. I don't necessarily remember much about it, so it wasn't memorable, but it was entertaining enough, I guess.

I have to be honest with everyone... I didn't like this movie. Maybe it's because I'm not fond of "awkward" comedies (though I do like some of them), but I never saw what was so great about it.

The characters are boring and uninteresting almost to the point where you are watching two worlds: their world and the real world. They are so disconnected it's almost stupid (I am pretty sure, though, that some would see this is as a major plus).

Like Amy, I saw this at a friend's house and we both agreed that it was nothing special and didn't get why it became a phenomenon. The only thing I liked about the movie was that Napoleon's friend was named Pedro and when he became class president a lot of cool lines came out of it (I DO have a "Vote for Pedro" t-shirt that's too small for me but still keep it as a present from a friend).

I remember somewhat enjoying the movie, but it's been a long time. I may have to rewatch to regain my views.

Like Papa64, I also did not really like the film. (Just my personal taste). Sure, it was funny, but I saw nothing spectacular about its nerd-boy-gets-accepted premise, which we've seen many times before. It baffles me that it made so much money (considering the budget and amount of advertising it got).

With that said, there are some parts I will never forget, like the Time Machine scene, which was my favorite part.

I have the movie on DVD and I think it's okay, but nothing really special. There are a few funny scenes here and there, but nothing that has me cracking up.
