OK, so there's nothing in higher quality?

I'll see about mirroring that one... so it'll never get taken down.

OK I mirrored it, but on a different server (since drfsupercenter.info will be down for a few days)!

Enjoy! Only way this one's getting removed is if the server dies or something... "report copyright infringement" won't work on me

I wonder how Tommy Tallarico would react.

I have never seen the first Tron, so I really don't think I'll see this when it comes out.

I found this video off of "Tron 2" Blog that this is the premiere of a teaser for the new Disney sequel "Tron 2" with Jeff Bridges. This was shown during the San Diego Comic Con and the video quality was not that great, just see for yourself.

Hey, neither have I. I guess Im just too young (20). the only way I even knew about it was john's countless retellings of the first time he saw 3d animation (in Tron).

I'll probably see it though, especially since John has a hand in the sequel.
I thought the trailer looked cool even with no real knowledge of the original.

Here is a trailer from the Tron 2 Blog:

http://tron2trailer.blogspot.com

Sadly, YouTube took down the video due to a copyright claim by Walt Disney Company, same as with the Viacom copyrighted claim, I'm still on YouTube under "BrooklynMouse", but I don't see it take them down anytime soon. I have all of my Disney vinyl from my collection, but I don't except YouTube to take down those videos just like the way Viacom did with its lawsuit against Google.

I don't even know where the Comic Con is... If they had one near me I'd go and bring some good-quality video equipment

I guess this will become the official Tron 2.0 thread?

http://community.livejournal.com/ohnoth ... tml#cutid1

First Tron 2.0 Casting

Olivia Wilde (Fox's "House") and Beau Garrett, who appeared together in Turistas, are the first to sign on for Tron 2.0, the sequel to the 1982 Disney cult classic being directed by Joseph Kosinski.

Sean Bailey is producing along with Steven Lisberger, who co-wrote and directed the original film, and Jeff Silver.

The original, about a programmer thrust into a computer and forced to fight in games he helped create, is remembered for its sci-fi gladiator-style battles and groundbreaking special effects.

The new movie is acting as a "next chapter." Plot details are being guarded closely, but Wilde will play a worker in the virtual world who tries to help fight Master Control Program, the villainous intelligence protocol that was the nemesis in the original film.

Garrett will play a siren in the virtual world.

The male lead has not been cast, but the studio and filmmakers are screen-testing actors as it brings on other leads and supporting players.

Tron 2.0 is eyeing a spring shoot.

A source has apparently revealed that "Tron 2" will be shot entirely in 3D. They'll even be able to watch the scenes as they are filming them with glasses using this process...

I can't wait to see an official trailer for this film. I expect it to knock everyone's socks off.

Movie Geeks United has an interview with cinematographer Claudio Miranda("The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," "Fight Club," "Tron 2"), in which he talks about the new Brad Pitt film, but toward the end of the discussion he talks about filming "Tron 2" and how they're going to be using actual sets. Can you imagine that? Sets. In a film? Wow...

Seriously, it's really news because everyone thought that most if not all of it was going to be virtual, but according to Miranda there's going to be a sizable portion filmed in the real world. I'm fascinated by the process this film is taking and can't wait when we start to get images of the actual sets and stars.

Developing...

I think the masses would love this tidbit of info. Tron 2.0 is going to be shot ENTIRELY in 3-D. They are really excited about what they are going to be doing with the Tron world in 3-D.

With new technology, they can actually wear the glasses at the monitors as they shoot & it will show them exactly how the 3-D will look so that they can get exactly what they are looking for.

If there has ever been a world that 3-D would totally embrace, I think it would be the world of Tron. Specifically, we are going to get a first person view from inside of a light cycle in the film. That should be a lot of fun.

Over on BlogTalkRadio, Movie Geeks United (a streaming radio show) has a lengthy interview with cinematographer Claudio Miranda about his work on BENJAMIN BUTTON.

Towards the end of his segment, Miranda reveals he's the DP on TR2N, 2RON, T2RON, TRON 2, TRON 2.0, TRZ, TRON 2 (HATERS ZERO), or whatever else it's being called these days.

Claudio confirms the film will be shot entirely entirely in 3-D (revealed HERE on AICN yesterday), and says many physical sets are being built. Paraphrasing: this is one of the reasons Miranda took the gig as DP on the film. He was worried that actors would be surrounded by nothing but green screens & "not be able to touch anything", but this isn't the case. Miranda says there's a "reality" to what they want to show with the film, and how they want to make it.

It appears that according to Coming Soon, Bruce Boxleitner will return to play in the sequel to the 80's cult film...

It's not known how big or pivitol the role is but according to his official website as well, he will return to play this crucial character from the original film.
