Yes, the force might be the only way (note that I refuse to capitalize "the force"), but which version of the force will you follow?

I'm sure both Jedi and Sith have equal claims to being the "one true path".

Actually, we couldn't get into the whole science v religion debate here anyways - Lucas solved that little dilemma. As of Episode I, the Force is no longer a spiritual thing, but a high level of certain cells in your bloodstream. Must that man destroy everything that is holy?

It's no surprise she's a virgin. Did you look at her?

And talking to her would be a pain too. Every line is a metaphor.

"Mum, can I go...."

"It is like the setting of two suns, Anni..."

"But I just want a coke..."

"When the moon rises in the east..."

"Jesus, no wonder you never got laid!"

And outside of a Sean Bean death, FUNNIEST DEATH EVER.

I once liked A New Hope better, but now I'll stick to ESB... so I agree with Loomis' list, BUT I have to quote something from Aaron too:

And I don't like ROTJ because of the muppets. :P

Empire Strikes Back
A serious drama with actual themes and plot strands. Well done! Shows that other people understand Star Wars more than the great bearded one himself.

Star Wars (A New Hope)
Cowboys and Indians in space! But with a likable cast and a over all fun vibe throught.

Return of the Jedi
Cowboys and Indians in space - take 2. Some of the fun vibe is missing now, but it's still a pleasent enough diversion. The showdown with the Emperor is disappointing and anti-climatic.

The Phantom Menace
A massive let down long wait, plus Lucas' much vaulted imagination seems to be puppets (both physical and digital) and not storylines or plot. Oh, and he treats his cast like puppets too now, he's so used to it, totally sucking any likability and fun from the film. How is it possible to make Ewan McGregor uncharismatic? Could anyone else actually do that? He even has charisma in "Young Adam" playing a shifty sex addicted thug in the grim and gritty 1950's England with a dark murderous secret! It boggles the mind how Lucas could get the actor to appear so bored and uninterested on screen.

Attack of the Clones
An absolutely pointless film. No drama what-so-ever as we all knew who would survive and ultimately what happens to them in a general way. No suspence what-so-ever in any of the big set pieces. Oddly like watching somebody play a computer game when viewing.

I HAVE seen them all. The reason I made that thread was because I had trouble deciding which one to buy, and I haven't seen indiana jones and the old star wars movies for a long time

Oh okay. Thank for clearing that up for me. I was confused for a second there.

My ranking (I'm in danger for saying it, I know):

1. Episode III - Revenge of the Sith
2. Episode II - Attack of the Clones
3. Episode VI - Return of the Jedi
4. Episode I - The Phantom Menace
5. Episode IV - A New Hope
6. Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back

I grew up on the new series. For me, those ARE my classic Star Wars movies. Sorry if I've upset some fans... :)

Actually, that makes sence. It's natural to like the movies you grew up with more. That's why I like the 90's Disney movies more than the others. Such a nice feeling of nostalgia(sp?). I haven't seen the last three in forever, but I got the prequel trilogy yesterday, so I'll post my rankings in a few days.

You should. Episode III ties everything perfectly!

I'm glad you understand me. I also see Disney movies that way.
Looking foward to your ranking! :)

1. A New Hope-My favorite movie! It just never gets old! It has everything: comedy, action, romance and drama! You have to love it!

2. Revenge of the Sith- I love how they tied everything up! It was so cool knowing all the questions we had to the original trilogy. Plus the special effects are awesome and it has some of R2D2's best work! :D

3. Empire Strikes Back-No only does it have the coolest movie line ever!(I think you all know what it is! ) but it has the best romance story of the Star Wars movies and has a great ending which makes us excited for Return of the Jedi.

4. Return of the Jedi- The dialouge may be a bit cheesy compared to the others, but I still really enjoyed this one! Of all the Star Wars this has the best ending, I also liked those Ewoks! :D

5. Attack of the Clones-Not as bad as everyone says. It has great battle scenes and a good story. I liked how we saw more on how Anikan was turning to the dark side a little bit. Sure he was annoying at parts, but that's because of the dialouge then the acting.

6. Phantom Menace- Ugh! Jar Jar Binks, boring battle scenes, and an annoying kid that play Anikan! The only Star Wars that is bad!

I know! I loved it how R2D2 could actually fight! One of the most memerable scenes in the movie for me.

The "Dual of Fates" sequence made up for it, though. How could you call that a boring battle sequence? Obi-Wan vs. Darth Maul is my favorite battle sequence in the whole prequel trilogy. It was so fast paced!

I agree that Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan vs. Darth Maul was probably the best fight in the prequel trilogy. Actually, I'd tie it next to Yoda vs. Darth Sidious, which totally bowled me over, as well (and no wonder the latter was so good; Steven Spielberg storyboarded and choreographed it for George Lucas!). Here's my ranking:

1. A New Hope
2. The Empire Strikes Back
3. Revenge of the Sith
4. Return of the Jedi
5. Attack of the Clones
6. The Phantom Menace
