Don't be sorry, I sometimes accept opinions other than my own
And just to clarify I did say "primary concern". And yes, being concerned with every aspect of the company would be nice, but when all is said and done, if they can make money off a turd, they will. That's any business.

That's rediculous, if they are that hungry for money...why don't they just shut everything down and sell porn in which the Disney characters introduce each scene? And for the younger kids they can just sell candy and plush.
Seriously though, the company is not all about business. They weren't so desperate after the 80s films were not a success financially, and they ended up starting a revolution in 2-d. Unfortunately people's attention spans are way shorter now and can only see a CGI film with just non-stop laughter and no plot.

OK, now I know for certain that "Rapunzel Unbraided" is going to be a "Shrek 3". This is what the Brazilain site Cinema em Cena (
www.cinemaemcena.com.br) posted two days ago:
Basically it says that the Hollywood Reporter reported that Reese Whiterspoon and Kristin Chenoweth were hired to do voice work for the film (no big news) and that Sara Parriott and Josie McGibbon (both from "Runaway Bride") are the new writers. The big news are about the screenplay: the feature is going to present an spin on the original story, when a boy and a girl from the modern world fall in the world of Princess Rapunzel.
Can you get more Shrek than that?!

I know we should always have hope, but it's getting more and more difficult.

This does suck I can't still say I am thrilled about Disney and thier GI films but the idea is growing on me howvere I would have liked to see them go back to how thier 2-D films were done the classics with music and the magic stuff like that. I dont want all the movies to seem like comdies like Pixars films Chicken little seems to be that way. So i can hide my dissapoitment.
By the way Joe Carioca love your Avatar its very cool

Em. Well, it doesn't sound that Shrek to me. Surely everything in Shrek was fairytale-with-modern spin on it. Such as the Castle themepark etc.
Surely this sounds more 10th Kingdom than Shrek.
And modern-day sensibilities in fairytales isn't automatically Shrek-Like. What about the Genie in Aladdin? Or even the servants in Beauty and the Beast?

For me, as long as there's good music, enough recognizable Rapunzel material, lovable characters, a bit of a love story, a threatening villian, and overall an engaging story.

Just found this concept art at Ain't it Cool News. Looks pretty good: for some reason, the fairies in the picture make me feel more optimistic about the film.
Love the tower.
