TARZAN!!!!!!!!!!! Tarzan was a family movie!!!!

The very first time I cried at the movies was in 1993 in the preview of THE LION KING. It was the opening musical number. It was all beautiful, intense and wonderful to see. I didn't cry of sadness. I cried like I do when I see an intense work of art.

I've cried in many Disney moments. It depends most of all in my mood.
OUT THERE, the musical number in The HUNCHBACK made me cry a couple times.

There have been several Disney movies that made me cry though mostly I just held it back. I don't like crying if there are others around. Man, my throat feels really dry after it.

I've cried in:
Dumbo during Baby Mine.
The Fox in the Hound When the lady has to give away the Fox.(Havn't watched this movie in ages)
The Black Cauldron When Gurgi tries suicide
Oliver and Company When Oliver is the last cat in the box and left alone.
The Hunchback of Notre Dame When Quasi mother is killed and when Esmerelda sings God Save the Outcasts.
Tarzan in the beginning when Tarzan's parents die.
Old Yeller

I've never cried in:
Lion King
Bambi

I also creid in Titanic
and The Passion of the christ

The Lion King - didn't out and out bawl but was definately choked up. The opening scene is just very emotional with the colours and the song a perfect match for the emotion and setting. When I heard that Elton John was doing the music I was bit taken aback and didn't expect much. He's not my cup of tea even though the first major concert I saw was him in Sydney with the Melbourne Philharmonic, I was 13 and it was not a bad introduction to concerts, but the music for the Lion King is just fabulous. I also saw the stage show recently in Sydney with my wife and two boys aged 4 and 7 and was once again choked up at the opening scene....live, in a theatre setting it really was magical.

Also when Simba is trying to wake up Mufasa after the gorge stampede...yes there were tears for me then

Tarzan - During the "You'll be in my heart" song. Phil Collins did a marvellous job with Tarzans songs.

Toy Story 2 - Once again tied to a song and it was Jessie's song. When she's left by the roadside it just broke my heart.

Hunchback Of Notre Dame - When Quasie sings "One Day Out There". Fantastic song, and very powerful and matched with a beautiful piece of camera work when the camera pulls out to show the cathedral and all the roof tops of Paris. One of those really underated Disney films I think.

Beauty and the Beast - This one has to be in there. When Belle cries over beast at the end thinking him dead and the elation when the spell gets lifted. No matter how many times I see it still get all misty at that scene.

MOnsters Inc - When Sulley look through the door at the end and says "Boo!" and she responds "Kitty!". That's one of the sweetest endings to a film your ever going to see.

Non-Disney

The Lord of the Rings - I'm a huge rings fan and cry numerous times in these films. Boromirs death scene with Aragorn in the first film. Eowyn when she defeats the witch King in the third film with th triumphant cry "I am no man!", I wanted to cheer right in the middle of a trying to choke back my emotions. At the crowning of Aragorn as king when he says to the Hobbits "You bow to no-one"....when Arwen shows up behind the banner. Seeing Sam, Merry and Pippin saying goodbye to Frodo at the end and with Frodo's smile as he boards the boat to the west. When Gollum convinces Frodo that Sam wants the ring and Sam gets left behind. I cried at every one of those scene's.

But the worst scene for me was when Sam picks up Frodo at the end and cries "I can't carry it for you Mr Frodo (meaning the ring) but I can carry you"and with every ounce of strength he had carries him up the mountain. I was a blubbery mess. A 30yr old grown man trying to whimper silently in the corner....anyway you get the gist.

Mr. Holland's Opus - When the young athlete is killed in Vietnam and also at the end when Richard Dryfess son and wife lead him into the auditorium where everyone is assembled to honour him.

Titanic - When Jack slides away under the water and Kate Winslet's character Rose is calling is name with what little voice she has left.

And last but not least an old film....

It's a Wonderful Life - At the end when Jimmy Stewarts character has seen the state of the town had he not been born and his brother says when he comes back "to my brother....the richest man in town!"

Anyway they do it for me bu then again I'm a big wuss sometimes

Thanks for mentioning It's A Wonderful Life, that's another one that gets me dangerously close to crying, but not quite.

Well, I can't say I have cried at a Disney film - though judging from the trailer I will probably cry at "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen", simply because it seems to be totally rubbish.

But I am notorious for opening up like "Niagra Falls" at the most unsuitable moments. I have even been known to blub slightly as episodes of The Simpsons.

Baby Mine from Dumbo is the only time I can remember openly crying at a Disney movie. I do get a little teary when Quasi see's Esmerelda and Phebus kissing in Hunchback though.

I'm a little bit embarrassed by this, but I'm 19 years old, and I still cry at movies (I think I cry even more during movies then when I was little, and not because they are so horibble to watch).
Dumbo - The 'Baby Mine' Scene. I didn't only get teary eyes, I was actually crying during that scene
The Lion King - the death of Mufasa. A short scene, but emotional nonetheless.
And they say Bambi is intense .

The first, second and third times I watched Fox and the Hound I have cried during the good-bye song between Widow Tweed and Todd. Now it only makes me close to tears. Same thing with Old Yeller.

ok you got me on this one yes i have cried when i saw the movie of Mighty Joe Young some one please tell me that you didn't cry when joe fell off the farris wheel now that was sad.

If you mean "teared up," most decent movies get me teary at some point. However, with Beauty and the Beast, when I saw it in theaters I was in tears from the opening through to the ending. No surprise that it's my favorite Disney animated feature.

Exactly! In fact, as a child, I hated the ending of The Fox and the Hound! I thought it was a terribly depressing movie about an orphaned fox who lost his best friend, lost his adoptive mother, and was thrown into a world where almost no one liked him. Yes, he ended up with a girlfriend. Still, I thought the ending was terrible. The first time I watched it, I actually screamed, "OH NO, POOR TODD! THAT'S NOT RIGHT!" when the credits rolled. (I was around the age of five.)

When I saw Toy Story II in the theater, I cried because of Jessie's song.

Jessie's song is also sad Baby Mine made me cry.

Not that I care about Vixy, but how does her screaming and saying she's scared make her dumb? I had no idea that those who have ran for their lives are less intelligent than those who have never had to!
